Abstract

This study aims to explore the problem-solving skills of junior high school students in Madura in relation to climate change issues. Understanding these skills is crucial for preparing students to tackle environmental challenges effectively.Methodology A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, collecting data from 63 students through a set of problem-solving skill indicators. The indicators measured various aspects of students' abilities to understand, devise plans, carry out those plans, and reflect on their solutions to climate-related problems. The results indicate that 73% of students fall into the low category of problem-solving skills, while only 27% demonstrate moderate skills. Notably, no students achieved high or very high ratings. Specific analysis revealed that students exhibited a moderate understanding of problems but showed low performance in devising plans, executing those plans, and reflecting on their outcomes. These findings highlight significant gaps in students' problem-solving capabilities concerning climate change. The low proficiency across various indicators suggests a need for enhanced educational strategies to develop these essential skills. The analysis indicates that without targeted interventions, students may struggle to effectively address the complexities of climate issues.

Abstract

In this dynamic era, introducing entrepreneurship into science education can produce entrepreneurial-minded graduates capable of creating independent businesses. This concept is essential in basic science, enabling the use of scientific concepts to develop innovative solutions. This research aims to explore the trends in science edupreneurship and its impact on SDGs through bibliometric analysis. The literature review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method were used in this study, combined with bibliometric analysis using the Scopus database. The findings show that research on science edupreneurship has increased significantly over the last 10 years. The most common document type is articles, with the majority of sources coming from journals, and the most publications contributed by the United States of America. The results of this study provide a broad overview of the importance of integrating science edupreneurship and its impact on SDGs. The mapping results also offer several strategic recommendations, including the need to further develop interdisciplinary approaches to meet the challenges of education and innovation. Additionally, the use of educational technology and innovative teaching methods should be considered to enhance learning effectiveness. International collaboration among researchers and institutions is also necessary to share knowledge and develop effective strategies. Education tailored to the individual needs of students is recommended to ensure effective learning. Integration with local communities and industries can increase the relevance of education to the relevance of industries’ needs.

Abstract

The low problem-solving skills and self-efficacy of students in physics learning significantly impact their overall learning processes and outcomes. In order to address this issue, an inquiry learning model was implemented, along with the low-cost experiment tool. This learning model is designed to be valid and effective in enhancing students' problem-solving skills and self-efficacy. The research followed a non-equivalent control group design and involved 66 students to ensure the development of a high-quality learning model that meets the required standards and criteria. By utilising learning instruments, such as students' response questionnaires, problem-solving pre- and post-tests, and self-efficacy questionnaires, the focus of the physics topic in this research was the simple mathematic pendulum. The validity test results show that the learning instrument has high validity and reliability criteria, making it feasible to use in physics learning. Furthermore, the statistical effectiveness test results show that this learning model is effective in improving students' problem-solving skills and self-efficacy. As students engage in hands-on investigations and collaborate on meaningful projects, they are prompted to apply critical thinking and decision-making skills, directly contributing to the development of effective problem-solving strategies. The intrinsic motivation derived from successfully navigating the challenges of inquiry learning, coupled with the personal relevance of the content, nurtures students' confidence in their abilities, ultimately strengthening their self-efficacy as independent and capable learners. Research implies the development of innovative learning models, effectively enhancing students' PSS and SE.
