Abstract

Environmental education is one of the keys to people, especially students, having an awareness of protecting the environment. This qualitative study aims to investigate the best ways for school committees to play a role and how to adopt strategic management for environmental education to be sustained over the long term. The research subjects comprised one principal, five teachers, five students, and three school committee members. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies related to the strategic planning process and the role of school committees. The findings demonstrated that schools had to adopt a strategic management approach to accomplish environmental education goals, including formulation, implementation, assessment, and control. The first four years of school focused on implementing environmental education in school. For the next four years, the focus shifts to civilizing the environment within the school's internal environment. In the third four years, the school concentrates on acculturating the external environment. The school committee plays a vital role in implementing environmental education by considering school regulations, supervising, supporting schools financially, and actively participating in the process. This research implies that this research can be a basis for further research, especially in strategic planning and school committees.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of using interactive teaching materials based on the Dayak Bulusu traditional dance on strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile character in elementary school students. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The participants were fifth-grade students from a public elementary school in North Kalimantan, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a character assessment instrument that referred to the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile and were analyzed using an independent sample t-test. The findings reveal a significant improvement in students’ character, particularly in the aspects of mutual cooperation, independent learning, and cultural diversity appreciation, in the experimental group using the interactive teaching materials. These results suggest that integrating local cultural content into interactive learning resources effectively promotes character education aligned with the Pancasila Student Profile. The study recommends that interactive materials rooted in indigenous culture be continuously developed as innovative media in elementary education, especially within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

The growth mindset-based teacher supervision model is an innovative approach in the development of teacher professionalism that emphasizes the mindset that abilities can continue to be developed through effort, perseverance, and self-reflection. This study aims to formulate a more humanistic and strategic model of supervision by focusing on the growth of teachers as lifelong learners. Through the literature review method, this study examines relevant theories and the results of previous studies that support the concept of growth mindset in education. This model is structured in a controlling cycle framework that includes five main stages: standardization, data-driven monitoring, deviation detection, corrective action, and feedback loop. Indicators of teacher mindset growth include active participation in professional development, learning innovation, acceptance of feedback, and self-reflection skills. In addition, this model is enriched with evaluation instruments such as reflective journals, peer review, and collaborative coaching. The results of the study show that the implementation of growth mindset-based supervision is able to create a school culture that is adaptive, collaborative, and oriented towards improving the quality of education. Thus, this model is expected to be a practical and theoretical reference for school principals and education supervisors in improving the quality of teacher human resources in a sustainable manner in the midst of today's educational challenges.

Abstract

Changes in the scope of educational organizations are believed to ensure that all levels of education in Indonesia receive accreditation in accordance with the National Education Standards. This study aims to examine the impact of the structural transition from National Accreditation Board for Schools and Madrasahs to National Accreditation Board for Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Secondary Education in implementing quality assurance in Indonesian education. A literature review approach is employed in this research. The findings indicate that changes in name and accreditation scope have led to structural and functional transformations within the National Accreditation Body. The functions of National Accreditation Board for Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Secondary Education are expected to accommodate more accurate and beneficial educational services tailored to each level, including early childhood education, primary education, and secondary education. The implications of this transition are believed to enhance the quality of Indonesia’s accreditation institutions by fostering greater transparency and openness in carrying out their duties and functions as quality assurance bodies in the country.
