Abstract

This study aims to examine the activeness of student learning towards science subjects in junior high school. The research method used was a mixed research method with an explanatory design. The subjects were students of junior high school amounted to 148 students. The analysis of data using statistical techniques descriptive for quantitative data and analysis Miles Huberman for qualitative data. The results of the five indicators show that students are categorized as having good learning activeness on the indicator "High Curiosity (45,3%)" "Dare to Take Risks (73,7 %) ". "Wanted for New Experiences (55,4 %)". And "Proactive (57,4 %)". Then, students are categorized as having sufficient learning activeness on the indicator "Never Give Up (45,3 %)". The high percentage of the five indicators is supported by the results of interviews stating that students have a high curiosity seen from students who is actively asking questions and also not only rely on the material provided by the teacher, students have dared to make their own decisions and dare to face the problems given by the teacher without fear of being wrong, students are enthusiastic in conducting experiments or experiments because through theoretical experiments can be easier to understand and through experiments learning experiences can be obtained directly, and students are always looking for opportunities to learn and involved in learning activities, and students have a high enthusiasm for learning science but they are not confident in their abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the correlation of students' perceptions of e-module toward students' basic science process skills. The subject of the study were second semester students of Department of Physics Education in Universitas Jambi. This research used a mixed-method research with data collection instruments consisting of student perception questionnaire, observation sheet of students' science process skills, and also interviews. From the results of data analysis, students' perceptions were in the good category with an average of 74.95, and the basic science process skills of students were also in the good category with an average of 69.08. Based on the correlation test conducted there is a significant relationship between the level of student perception of e-module with students’ basic science process skills using Pearson correlation values 0,927, and Sig. (2-tailed) 0.00 at a significance of 1%.

Abstract

Skills are an essential aspect that every individual should have. One of the critical skills essential in making education and employment successful in the 21st century is critical thinking skills. A person with critical thinking skills can search for understand, and evaluate a statement by analyzing logical and rational relevant matters in problem-solving or decision-making processes. This study aims to analyze the influence of science process skills on critical thinking skills. The sampling technique used is total sampling, with a sample of 60 practicants. This research is descriptive quantitative research with experimental methods through observation sheet instruments and essay test. Data analysis techniques were used, namely descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The data analysis obtained science process skills of grade VII students at SMPN 8 Batanghari have been categorized as good, but more dominant in female students with a percentage of 79.5%. Meanwhile, critical thinking skills have also been classified as critical and dominant in female students, 46.2% in the highly critical category. Based on the study results, obtained p-value 0.000/2= 0.000, 0.000<0.05, meaning there is an influence of science process skills on students' critical thinking skills. It is hoped that this research can contribute to schools in Indonesia.

Abstract

The role of technology that continues to develop in the era of globalization, especially in the field of education demands various innovations in the teaching and learning process in order to improve the quality of learning in the world of education. This study aims to examine the differences in the perceptions of students based on gender gender in classes A and B towards the physics-mathematical e-module.This type of research is quantitative and is carried out as surveys. Instrument for collecting data in the form of perception surveys using the likert scale. The data were analysed in statistically descriptive manner (mean, median, mode, frequency and percent) and inferential statistics (hypothesis test: normality test and homogeneity test, and hypothesis test: independent T-test). Sample Techniques is a total sample of 80 gender students from 2 classes. The result of the study is that there is a significant difference between the perception of female students and the level of significance 0.049 and significance level 0.005 for male. As a result, it was concluded that the average perception difference between women and men is lower. Men are more rational in the insertion of something, whereas women are emotive in the insertion of something. The results of this study are expected to contribute to educators in improving the quality of learning in an educational institution.

Abstract

The role of technology that continues to develop in the era of globalization, especially in the field of education, demands various innovations in the teaching and learning process to improve the quality of learning in the world of education. However, in learning, some students have negative perceptions that can make students not enthusiastic about participating in learning. Students will have difficulty understanding the material and will impact less than optimal learning outcomes of mathematics and physics in learning. This study examines the differences in students' perceptions based on gender in grades A and B in the physics-mathematics e-module. This type of research is quantitative and is conducted by a survey. The data collection instrument is a perception survey using a Likert scale. Data were analyzed descriptively (mean, median, mode, frequency, and percent) and inferential statistics (hypothesis test: normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests: independent T-test). The result of this research is that there is a significant difference between female students' perceptions with a significance level of 0.049 and a significance level of 0.005 for boys. The key is that the average difference in perception between women and men is lower. Men are more rational in inserting something, while women are more emotional. The results of this study are expected to contribute to educators in improving the quality of learning in an educational institution.

Abstract

Skills are an essential aspect that every individual should have. Students' critical thinking ability in Indonesia is still in the low category. Based on the fact that science learning carried out by teachers in schools tends to use the lecture method in learning. It causes students to lack critical thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the effect of science process skills on critical thinking skills. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research through experimental methods. The sampling technique used is total sampling, with a sample of 60 practitioners. The methods used to collect data are observation and tests. The instruments used in collecting data are observation sheets and essay tests. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Data analysis obtained that the students' science process skills were considered good, but female students were more dominant. Meanwhile, critical thinking skills are also classified as critical and dominant in female students in the very critical category. Based on the study results, it was concluded that there was an influence of science process skills on students' critical thinking skills. It is hoped that this research can contribute to schools in Indonesia.
