Abstract

Exercise is one of the important factors in maintaining body health, especially in improving physical fitness and heart health. This study aims to analyze the effect of regular exercise on heart health and physical fitness. The research method used was an experiment involving 50 participants who were divided into two groups: an experimental group that did regular exercise for 12 weeks and a control group that did not do regular exercise. The results showed that participants who exercised regularly experienced a significant increase in aerobic capacity, more stable blood pressure, and decreased cholesterol levels. Thus, regular exercise can provide significant benefits for heart health and physical fitness.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between performance assessment practices and educational quality in educational institutions, with specific focus on employee engagement as an intervening variable. While extensive research has explored human resource management practices in educational settings, limited attention has been given to the mediating mechanisms through which performance assessment influences educational outcomes. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS, this research tested a theoretical model positing that performance assessment affects educational quality both directly and indirectly through enhanced employee engagement. Data were collected from 347 educational staff (67.7% teaching staff, 23.6% administrative staff) across various educational institutions using validated survey instruments. Results confirmed that performance assessment significantly influences educational quality directly (β = 0.32, p < 0.001) and indirectly through employee engagement (β = 0.26, 95% CI [0.18, 0.35], p < 0.001), supporting partial mediation. The dimensions of performance assessment that most strongly contributed to this relationship were assessment criteria clarity and feedback quality. Multi-group analysis revealed that the mediating effect was stronger for teaching staff compared to administrative staff. These findings contribute to the integration of human resource management and educational leadership theories by demonstrating how performance assessment practices influence educational outcomes through both direct instrumental effects and indirect motivational pathways. For educational leaders, the study highlights the importance of designing comprehensive performance assessment systems that not only provide clear standards and constructive feedback but also foster engagement by emphasizing fairness, development orientation, and staff participation. Future research should employ longitudinal designs to establish causality more definitively and explore additional mediating variables to develop a more comprehensive model.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the performance of native chickens fed with rucah fish meal (RFM) as a substitute for fish meal (FM). A total of 200 native chickens, aged 1 day, were maintained for 8 weeks and divided into 20 experimental units with five treatments and four replications. The treatments included substituting fish meal in the ration with rucah fish meal at various levels: P0= 12% FM and 0% RFM, P1= 9% FM and 3% RFM, P2= 6% FM and 6% RFM, P3= 3% FM and 9% RFM, and P4= 0% FM and 12% RFM. A completely randomized design was used with a coefficient of variation for initial body weight of 2.37%. Parameters measured included feed consumption, body weight, carcass percentage, and feed conversion ratio. The results showed that replacing fish meal with rucah fish meal did not significantly affect (P0.05) feed consumption but significantly increased (P0.05) chicken body weight and improved feed conversion ratio. It was concluded that fish meal can be replaced up to 100% with rucah fish meal (12% in the ration) to improve native chicken performance.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the use of fermented corncob flour as a substitute for rice bran in broiler chicken rations and its effects on protein efficiency ratio and broiler performance. Conducted at the Farm and Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Science, University of Jambi, the study tested four treatments on 200 broiler chicks using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five replications. The treatments included 0%, 4%, 8%, and 12% fermented corncob flour as a substitute for rice bran. Key variables observed were feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and protein efficiency ratio. Results indicated that the inclusion of fermented corncob flour significantly (P0.05) improved feed intake, protein intake, protein efficiency ratio, and feed conversion ratio, with no significant impact (P0.05) on body weight gain up to a 12% inclusion level. The optimal feed conversion was observed at the 8% substitution level. In conclusion, corncob flour fermented with EM4 can replace up to 12% of rice bran in broiler rations without negatively affecting performance, providing a viable alternative for poultry feed formulation.

Abstract

Bridging Policy and Practice in Competency Assessment of Indonesian Proficient Teachers: A Mixed Methods Gap Analysis. Objective: This study aims to analyze the need for developing teacher competency assessment instruments for proficient teachers. Method: This study used a mixed-methods approach with a convergent design. It begins by analyzing 457 Scopus-indexed publications from the past 46 years, identified through the keywords “teacher AND competency AND assessment AND instrument.” A content analysis of five selected publications relevant to Indonesia was conducted to align the desired competencies of proficient teachers with the Regulation of the Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel Number 2626/B/HK.04.01/2023. To further explore gaps in existing instruments, the study utilized VOSviewer for visualization and additional content analysis, considering code, category, and theme. Findings: The findings reveal that current teacher assessment instruments in Indonesia are not yet aligned with the 2023 regulation, particularly lacking indicators focused on the competency of “evaluating and designing improvements.” This is a critical performance area highlighted in the new policy framework, which aims to enhance student-centered education. Conclusions: As a result, it is concluded that this study highlights a clear and urgent need for the development of more contextualized assessment instruments that reflect updated regulatory expectations, address actual teacher performance needs, and support improved learning outcomes. These insights serve as a vital foundation for future research and policy-driven development of teacher assessment tools in Indonesia. Keywords: competency assessment instruments, teacher competency, teacher competency instruments, proficient teacher competency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out more about the implementation of strengthening religious moderation policies carried out by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, especially in relation to higher education. Today, differences in religion and belief are a major cause of social strife in society. It is important for government organizations to develop innovative programs to address these situations and conditions. The religious moderation program started by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in 2016 is one such initiative that has been put into practice. The research method is a literature study that shows that Indonesia is a multicultural country with a diversity of ethnicities, cultures, and religions. Therefore, it is likely that this diversity will lead to conflicts between various tribes, cultures, and even religions. The results of this study show that an effective approach in fostering inter-religious harmony is to mainstream religious moderation. Religious moderation education policy aims to prevent intolerance, religious fanaticism, and extremism that threaten social stability and national security, as well as encourage harmony between religious communities in Indonesia. Strengthening religious moderation education in learning is effective, using various evaluation techniques, such as group discussions, questionnaires or surveys, assessments and exams, and direct observation. Religious moderation education can help learners understand the place of religion in their lives
