Abstract

The economy cannot be separated from the role of government spending in stimulating the economy. Fiscal policy is government’s tool to intervene in theeconomy, could change for the better economy or even make the economy into a recession. On the other hand, economic activity over the impact of greenhouse gas contribution, so the impact on global climate change. Therefore, a certain sectorspecific fiscal policies have considerable impact in influencing greenhouse gases. This study aims to provide an analysis of fiscal policy scenarios that can affect greenhouse gases, so that could explain what sector-specific fiscal policies that can increase the risk of climate change. This research uses the model of Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) based fiscal policy held by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia named AGEFIS (Applied General Equilibrium Model for Fiscal). The scenario is to decrease fosil fuel subsidy that can produce CO2 emision. The results shows that decreasing fossil fuel subsidies can reduce the CO2 emission, but with high consequences. The consequences are the economic growth seen to fall, household wealth declined and the real consumption levels decrease.

Abstract

The tourism sector is a sector that can be relied on to earn foreign exchange.Revenue from tourism showed significant progress and continues to grow, so bringa high impact on the Indonesian economy. Number of tourists visiting foreigncountries is an important indicator for the growth of tourism sector in Indonesia isrelated to the increase in foreign exchange. Increase or decrease of tourist arrivals isinfluenced both by internal factors such as the condition of tourist destinations inIndonesia, politics and security in Indonesia or external factors such as the economic conditions of the various countries of origin of foreign tourists. This study uses panel data with the annual number of tourist arrivals from a number of countries to Indonesia for 19 years as the dependent variable. The independent variable of this research is RGDPP (Real GDP Per Capita), RREER (Relative Real Effective Exchange Rate), TCPI (Indicative Ratio of Consumer Price Index), Population, CPITUNIS (Consumer Price Index Tunisia), TO (Trade Openness). The results of this study indicate that tourist arrivals to Indonesia is heavily influenced by the distance from their home country to destinations in Indonesia. This variable is the biggest variable affecting the arrival of foreign tourists to Indonesia. Income per capita is the second largest variable and has a coefficient  close to unity, so that the income elasticity of country of origin is an important variable to be considered.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the best tillage method for making planting beds forvegetables cultivation using a two-wheel type tractor. Five tillage methods using a two-wheel type tractorwith its equipments were tested and evaluated in this study. The methods which were tested were: 1)plowing using a reversible type plow, followed by ridging using a ridger and finished by harrowing using arotary tiller (B-F-G 1 method) ; 2) plowing, followed by harrowing and finished by ridging (B-G-F method);3) plowing, followed by harrowing followed by ridging and finished by 2nd harrowing (B-G-F-G method); 4)plowing, followed by 40 cm width of harrowing and finished by ridging (B-G-F 2 method); and 5) plowing,followed by 40 cm width of harrowing and finished by ridging with 40 cm tractor wheel-base (B-G-F 3method). The experiments were conducted on several plots of dry land. The results of the experimentsshowed that the B-G-F 3 method produced the best planting bed form, an appropriate bed size and abetter soil condition for vegetables cultivation. Abstract

Plat penetration resistance on paddy soil was measured for determination of a lug wheel designparameters. A penetrometer equipped with plat tips (three plat sizes) was used for soil penetrationmeasurement at 30o, 45o, 60o, 75o and 90o penetratiron angle, at the depth of 2.5 cm, 5 cm, 7.5 cm, 10 cm,12.5 cm, 15 cm, 17.5 cm dan 20 cm. The results showed that using plat inclination angle of 45o, producedhighest horizontal and vertical soil reaction forces. In the paddy soil with a deeper mud layer condition,soil reaction forces tended to significantly increase at 0-10 cm depth and at 15-20 cm depth. The soilreaction force at 15-20 cm depth at 90o penetration angle was 60 kPa. For the location, the optimum lugwheel design parameters were: 14 lugs, 8 cm lug height, 35 cm lug width, and 85 cm wheel diameter. Fora shallower mud layer paddy soil, the soil resistance significantly increased at 6-20 cm depth. Penetrationresistance at 15-20 cm depth at 90o penetration angle was higher than 90 kPa. Abstract

AbstractFoliar fertilizer application on sugarcane plantations using a knapsack sprayer was ineffective in spraying liquid foliar fertilizer evenly across the surface of the leaf. To improve its performance, a knapsack power sprayer was modified and tested, for a better comfort and effectiveness of the liquid foliar fertilizer application. The motor sprayer was modified by replacing its big fluid tank with a smaller fluid tank of the manual sprayer. The nozzle pipe was modified in such a way to be used in spraying two rows of sugarcane in one pass. The modified motor sprayers were tested in sugarcane plantation for applying the foliar fertilizer. The test results showed that the motor sprayers could spray the fluid fertilizer in more effective and uniform spraying than that of the manual sprayer. Spraying using high pressure of the motor sprayer could spray the foliar fertilizer to the leaf surface uniformly. The droplet size was more tiny, and could reach the entire leaf of the sugarcane. The operators like to use the modified motor sprayer. The average working capacity of the power sprayer was 0.4 ha/ hour per man.Keywords: motor sprayer, modification, sugarcane, fluid fertilizer, working performance AbstrakAplikasi pupuk daun di perkebunan tebu menggunakan sprayer manual tipe gendong, tidak efektif menyemprotkan cairan pupuk daun secara merata ke seluruh permukaan daun. Untuk memperbaiki kinerjanya, maka telah dilakukan percobaan aplikasi sprayer bermotor yang dimodifikasi, sesuai kebutuhan kenyamanan dan efektivitas penyemprotannya. Sprayer bermotor dimodifikasi dengan mengganti tangki cairannya yang terlalu besar, menggunakan tangki cairan dari sprayer tipe gendong manual yang berukuran lebih kecil. Selain itu, batang nosel diperbaiki ukurannya dan arah semprotnya agar dapat digunakan menyemprot di dua sisi barisan tanaman dalam satu lintasan penyemprotan. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa kinerja sprayer bermotor hasil modifikasi lebih baik dari kinerja sprayer bermotor sebelum modifikasi dan lebih baik dari kinerja sprayer tipe gendong manual. Hasil semprotan sprayer bermotor dengan tekanan yang lebih tinggi, mampu menyemprotkan cairan pupuk ke permukaan daun secara merata. Butiran semprotan lebih halus, dan daun yang tersemprot lebih banyak. Operator juga menyukai penggunaan sprayer bermotor hasil modifikasi tersebut. Kapasitas kerja rata-rata dengan sprayer bermotor adalah 0.4 ha/jam per orang.Kata kunci: sprayer bermotor, modifikasi, tebu, pupuk cair, kinerja

Abstract

AbstractIn oil palm harvesting, falling fruit bunches have a considerable potential energy, which can be captured and used to power the wheelbarrow in evacuating the fruit bunches. This study was conducted to measurethe engineering characteristics of fruit bunches harvesting, determine the best fruit bunches catchment platform material, analyze the potential energy of falling fresh fruit bunch, and design a conceptual designof the catchment platform and evacuation machine. Measurements of the characteristics of the harvesting were done in an oil palm plantation. Four types of fruit catchment platform materials were tested, namely:steel plate, wood board, expanded steel plate and rubber sheet. The results showed that, bunches fell at a distance between 0.6 m to 1.4 m from the tree. Fruit bunches weight was in the range of 16 kg to 32 kg.The rubber catchment platform was superior to the other materials in reducing the scattered loose fruits and bruised fruits. Potential energy of falling fruit bunches were in the range of 0.44-4.44 kJ. Theoreticaltraveling distance of the wheel barrow powered by the captured potential energy was in the range of 2.27 m - 22.98 m. Based on the data obtained, a conceptual design of catchment platform and evacuation machinewas designed.Keywords: oil palm harvesting, engineering characteristics, potential energy, catchment platform,conceptual design.AbstrakDalam panen kelapa sawit, tandan buah yang jatuh memiliki energi potensial yang cukup besar, yang dapat ditangkap dan digunakan sebagai daya penggerak angkong dalam mengevakuasi tandan buah segar(TBS). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengukur karakteristik teknik panen TBS, menentukan bahan landasan terbaik untuk penangkap TBS, menganalisis potensi energi potensial TBS yang jatuh, dan merancangdesain konseptual dari mesin penangkap dan pengangkut TBS. Pengukuran karakteristik panen dilakukan di perkebunan kelapa sawit. Empat jenis bahan landasan tangkapan diuji, yaitu: pelat baja, papan kayu, pelat baja expanded dan lembaran karet. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, tandan jatuh pada jarak antara 0.6 m sampai 1.4 m dari pohon. Berat TBS berkisar antara 16 kg sampai 32 kg. Bahan karet paling baik untuk penangkap TBS dalam mengurangi jumlah buah tercecer dan buah memar. Energi potensial TBS jatuh berada di kisaran 0,44-4,44 kJ. Jarak tempuh teoritis dari angkong yang menggunakan energipotensial yang ditangkap, berada di kisaran 2.27 m - 22.98 m. Abstract

AbstractPaddle wheel aerator widely used in aquaculture because it has the function of aeration and circulation as well as their construction is simple. However, its efficiency is not maximized so it is still expensive inoperation because of the large power consumption. Aerator performance is an important factor in the selection and use of the aerator as it relates to investment and operating cost, so the paddle wheel aeratordesign development and improvement of the performance of the operation is still possible to do. Developing of three-dimensional blade with the optimum geomerty and blade development that can move is a solution that can be done. The study aims to review the principle of aeration, performance test, evaluation criteria, and performance comparison aerator design development that have been made so as to provide an alternative to the developing of performance improvement paddle wheel aerator. This article is a summary of the ''state of the art'' design and performance of a paddle wheel aerator development.Keywords : design, aeration, paddle wheel, dissolved oxygen, efficiencyAbstrakAerator kincir banyak digunakan dalam budidaya air karena mempunyai fungsi aerasi dan sirkulasi yang baik serta kontruksinya sederhana. Namun demikian, efisiensinya belum maksimal sehingga masih mahal dalam pengoperasian karena besarnya pemakaian daya listrik. Kinerja aerator merupakan faktor penting dalam pemilihan dan penggunaan aerator karena berhubungan dengan biaya investasi dan operasional, sehingga pengembangan desain aerator kincir dan peningkatan kinerja pengoperasian masih memungkinkan untuk dilakukan. Pengembangan sudu tiga dimensi dengan geometri optimumnya dan pengembangan sudu yang dapat bergerak merupakan solusi yang dapat dilakukan. Kajian ini bertujuan menelaah kembali prinsip aerasi, uji kinerja, kriteria evaluasi, perbandingan kinerja dan perkembangan desain aerator yang sudah dilakukan sehingga dapat memberikan alternatif pengembangan guna peningkatan kinerja aerator kincir. Abstract

AbstractIn oil palm harvesting, falling fruit bunches have a considerable potential energy, which can be captured and used to power the wheelbarrow in evacuating the fruit bunches. This study was conducted to design a mechanism of oil palm fresh fruit bunches catchment and its potential energy utilization. The potential energy of falling fruit bunches during oil palm harvesting that stored in the flat spiral spring, and used to drivethe wheelbarrow. The actual energy potential and torque performance of flat spiral spring was measured by using a torque and potential energy measuring apparatus. The results showed that the potential energyfrom falling fruit bunches could store in the flat spiral spring mechanism, with storage efficiency of 39.39%. By means of 1.5 rotation of flat spiral spring, the maximum torque of the flat spiral spring was 53.35 Nm.The utilization of potential energy that stored in the flat spiral spring has been successfully used to drive the wheelbarrow, with utilization efficiency of 80.39%. By using the potential energy of 38.64 J, wheelbarrow could move as far as 0.41 m to evacuate 48 kg of total weight loads.Keywords: oil palm, harvesting,potential energy, catchment mechanism, wheelbarrow.AbstrakDalam pemanenan kelapa sawit, tandan buah yang jatuh memiliki energi potensial yang cukup besar, yang dapat ditangkap dan digunakan sebagai daya penggerak angkong dalam mengevakuasi tandan buah segar (TBS). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk merancang sebuah mekanisme penangkap TBS yang sekaligus dapat menyimpan energi potensialnya. Energi potensial yang terkandung pada TBS saat pemanenan disimpan pada flat spiral spring dan akan dimanfaatkan sebagai daya untuk menggerakan angkong. Torsi dan energi potensial pada flat spiral spring diukur secara aktual melalui sebuah aparatus pengukur torsi dan energi potensial untuk pegas tipe spiral. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa energi potensial TBS dapat disimpan pada flatspiral spring dengan efesiensi penyimpanan sebesar 39.39%. Melalui input 1.5 putaran pada flat spiral spring, torsi maksimum yang dapat dicapai oleh flat spiral spring adalah sebesar53.35 Nm. Bentuk pemanfaatan energi yang tersimpan dalam flat spiral spring telah berhasil dimanfaatkan untuk menggerakan roda angkong dengan efisiensi pemanfaatan sebesar 80.39%. Abstract

AbstractTo improve the performance of corn planter powered by hand tractor, the following efforts were carried out: a) the evaluation of minimum tillage (strip tillage) using rotary tiller, b) the evaluation of the performance of the drive system for seed metering device; and c) modifications of the planting and fertilizing units. The machine capacity to be improved by using two planting rows in one pass. The machine was driven by a hand tractor equipped with a rotary tiller unit. The experiment results show that the strip tillage using the rotary tiller could be done when the soil is plowed, in a relatively loose condition. Among the five types of drive wheel to rotate the seed metering device, lugged rubber wheel had the lowest level of sliding (21- 22%), and produced seed spacing of the closest to the target (19-21 cm). The evaluation showed that one drive wheel is not able to drive two units of seed metering device and two units of fertilizer metering device. Rotation of tractor axle can be used effectively to drive the rotor of two units of the fertilizer applicator and corn seed metering devices of two planter units, using the sprocket-chain transmission. Modifications were constructed for two planting units; two fertilizing units; and the addition of drive system for the metering devices using rotation of the tractor axle.Keywords: Planting machine, fertilizer applicator, corn, tractor wheel axle, hand tractorAbstrakUntuk meningkatkan kinerja mesin penanam dan pemupuk jagung bertenaga traktor tangan, telah dilakukan: a) evaluasi pengolahan tanah minimal (strip tillage) menggunakan unit pengolah tanah rotari, b) evaluasi kinerja sistem penggerak bagian penjatah benih; dan c) modifikasi pada unit penanam dan pemupuk jagung. Kapasitas mesin ditingkatkan dengan penanaman dua alur dalam satu lintasan. Mesinpenanamdigerakkan oleh traktor tangan yang dilengkapi unit pengolah tanah rotari. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa pengolahan tanah strip dengan unit pengolah tanah rotari bisa dilakukan dengan baik bila tanah sudah dibajak, dalam kondisi yang relatif gembur. Dari lima jenis roda bantu untuk menggerakkan sistem penjatah benih, roda penggerak karet bersirip memiliki tingkat luncuran yang paling rendah (21-22%), dan menghasilkan jarak tanam benih yang paling mendekati target (19-21 cm). Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa sebuah roda bantu tidak mampu menggerakkan dengan baik dua unit penjatah benih dan dua unit penjatah pupuk. Putaran poros roda traktor dapat digunakan secara efektif untuk menggerakkan poros rotor penjatah pupuk pada dua unit pemupuk dan poros piringan penjatah benih jagung pada dua unit penanam, menggunakan transmisi sproket-rantai. Abstract

Kalanchoe is the biggest genera of Crassulaceae family and distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. This genera is found to be a rich source of biologically active natural products such as triterpenes, flavonoids and steroids. As a part of our continuing search for novel insecticidal compounds from Indonesian Kalanchoe plants, we examined Kalanchoe daigremontiana collected from Bandung region, West Java, Indonesia. The methanolic extract of the dried leaves of K. daigremontiana was concentrated and extracted with methylene chloride The methylene chloride extract exhibited an insecticidal activity toward silkworms. The methylene chloride extract was partitioned between n-hexane and methanol containing 10% water. The active lower layer was extracted with ethyl acetate. By using the insecticidal activity to follow the separations, the ethyl acetate fraction was separated by combination of column chromatography on Kieselgel 60 and ODS to afford two insecticidal bufadienolides 1 and 2. The structures of these compounds were elucidated based on spectroscopic analysis (UV, IR, NMR, 2D-NMR) and comparison with those related data previously reported. In this paper, the isolation, structural elucidation, and insecticidal activities against the third instar larvae of silkworm will be described.
