Abstract

Background: The group of women of childbearing age is one of the phases to prepare a quality next generation. Inadequate food intake can cause problems with Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK) in women of childbearing age. In women, the presence of depressive symptoms worsens the relationship between emotional eating and food intake. This study aimed to determine the relationship between emotional eating and the level of nutritional adequacy in women of childbearing age in the Rimau Islands, Sumur Village, South Lampung.Research Methods: This study used a cross-sectional or cross-sectional design. Researchers used the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ), translated into Indonesian, specifically for Emotional Eating The nutritional status of young women can be seen from the Body Mass Index (BMI).Research Result: This study included 20 of the 30 respondents who attended. The statistical test for emotional eating on nutritional status (obesity) has no relationship with the p-value (0.766).Conclusion: This study concludes that there is no relationship between emotional eating and Nutritional Status.

Abstract

Background: The total nutritional needs during adolescence are higher than at any other time in the life cycle. Nutrition and physical growth are integrally related; Optimal nutrition is a condition for achieving optimal growth potential. This creates an increased need for energy and other nutrients. One of the appropriate policies to be implemented in achieving food independence and anticipating the food crisis is food diversification. Food diversification is a process of food diversity or efforts to increase the consumption of various foods with the principle of balanced nutrition.  Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the diversification of protein source food in young women in the Rimau islands of South Lampung Sumur village. Method: This study used a qualitative design (cases study) using in-depth interviews. The study was conducted within 6 months with 4 respondent Results: The results of the study explained that there limitations in obtaining animal protein sources, thus affecting the diversification of protein sources. Protein sources that are often consumed are eggs and tempeh which do not require a refrigerator in food storage while fish catch hail is sold for economic needs, and is rarely consumed alone. Conclusion: The diversity of protein sources and diet influences the nutritional status of young women at Rimau Islands, Sumur Village, South Lampung.

Abstract

Sektor peternakan diharapkan dapat mengisi pembangunan dengan memenuhi kebutuhan akan protein hewani masyrakat dengan tujuan meningkatkan Kesehatan serta kecerdasan masyrakatnya. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan Juni hingga September 2021 bertempat di Posyandu Melati II dan Puskesmas Kelurahan Ganjar Agung. Manfaat dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu meningkatkan Kesehatan masyarakat dan meningkatkan daya serap produk ternak oleh masyarakat. Kecukupan gizi masyarakat dalam menanggulangi kebutuhan gizi pada masa pandemic covid 19. Metode kegiatan ini meliputi ceramah, diskusi, pelatihan, kampanye gizi, pengolahan produk peternakan dan evaluasi pelaksanaan. Materi ceramah terdiri dari materi pengenalan produk ternak ASUH, pengenalan kandungan gizi pada makanan sumber produk ternak, dan pengukuran kebutuhan gizi masyarakat. Pelatihan terdiri dari pengolahan produk ternak secara sederhana dan penyusunan diet seimbang. Kampaney gizi dengan memberikan produk ternak seperti telur dan susu di kelompok masyarakat yang ada di Kelurahan Ganjar Agung. Pengabdian ini diikuti oleh 15 kader posyandu, 27 ibu dan anak anggota posyandu Melati II. Pengabdian ini menghasilkan peningkatan kemampuan dan pemahaman masyarakat sebesar 19% tenang pengolahan dan penyimpanan produk asal hewan ternak.

Abstract

Anaemia is defined by the number of red blood cells (erythrocytes) or haemoglobin level is lower than normal. Consumption of food that contained sodium nitrite (NaNO2) could accelerate the breakdown of erythrocytes in the body. Soybean contains iron and protein which trigger the production of new erythrocytes. This study aims to analyze the effect of soybean to the erythrocyte counts of mice induced by sodium nitrite. The method of this study is a post test control only group design with an analytic laboratory experimental type of study. 25 mice were used in this study as the samples which divided into 5 groups. Data analysis was performed by and bivariate analysis with One-Way ANOVA statistical tests. The result of this study indicates that soybean extract has an effect to the increasing of erythrocyte counts on mice induced by sodium nitrite (p=0.000).

Abstract

Upaya percepatan eliminasi tuberkulosis (TBC) di Indonesia tahun 2030 harus dicapai karena TBC merupakan permasalahan kesehatan masyarakat yang serius di Indonesia. Beberapa permasalahan di Desa Cipadang meliputi kurangnya pengetahuan tentang TBC, termasuk pengetahuan tentang gejala, cara penularan, dan cara pencegahan. Akibatnya, banyak masyarakat menganggap TBC bukan masalah serius dan sering mengabaikan gejala awal penyakit ini. Pengabdian ini merupakan kegiatan penyuluhan dan praktik edukasi kesehatan kepada masyarakat desa. Peserta kegiatan didominasi usia lebih dari 40 tahun sebanyak 32 individu dari keseluruhan 50 individu. Menurut data kesehatan, kelompok usia lebih dari 40 tahun merupakan kelompok risiko tinggi terkena TBC. Tingkat pengetahuan peserta mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan sesudah dilakukan intervensi penyuluhan. Kegiatan ini merupakan upaya nyata tim pengabdi membantu percepatan program eliminasi TBC meskipun dalam lingkup kecil.

Abstract

Background: The eating behavior of adolescent girls is often not concerned with the nutritional content of food, consuming more fast food, causing changes in eating behavior leading to unhealthy eating behavior. The impact of unhealthy eating behavior is the emergence of obesity and underweight. Adolescent eating behavior is influenced by predisposing, supporting, and reinforcing factors.Aims: This study aims to analyze the factors to predict the eating behavior of community-based adolescent girls in Indonesia.Method: This study uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 210 adolescent girls aged 15-18 years in the city of Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. Data were taken from July to October 2022. The sample was taken using the multistage random sampling method and analyzed using the chi-square test and logistic regression.Results: As many as 75 adolescent girls (35.7%) have unhealthy eating behavior, 164 people (78.1%) have poor nutritional knowledge, 6 people (2.9%) experience early menarche, 98 people (46.7%) were malnourished, 99 people (47.1%) had an eating disorder, 74 people (35.2%) had a risky personality, 109 people (51.9%) were dissatisfied with their body image, 100 people (47.6%) had a low allowance, 109 people (51.9%) influenced by social media, 98 people (46.7%) influenced by idols, 136 people (64.8%) influenced by family, 111 people (52.9%) influenced by teachers, and 76 people (36.2%) were influenced by their peers. Statistically, the factors related to the eating behavior of adolescent girls were knowledge (p=0.016), nutritional status (p=0.000), eating disorder (p=.0.008), personality (p=0.002), body image (p= 0.006), allowance (p=0.11), social media (p=0.000), idol figures (p=0.03), family (p=0.037), teachers (p=0.048) and peers (p=0.000 ), while menarche was not related (p=0,241). The most associated factors in predicting the eating behavior of adolescent girls are nutritional status, eating disorders, personality, body image, social media, idol figures, teachers, and peers.Conclusion: The prevalence of unhealthy eating behavior in adolescent girls is 35.7% and the most associated factors in predicting the eating behavior of adolescent girls are nutritional status, eating disorders, personality, body image, social media, idol figures, teachers, and peers.

Abstract

The condition of the COVID-19 pandemic affects many aspects of education, one of which is the increased use of electronic or digital media as a means that can support the learning process. The selection of appropriate and interesting teaching and learning media is important to support the learning process. This study aims to explore student perceptions of the provision of interactive quizzes in the learning process for students of the University of Lampung Medical Education Study Program: A Qualitative Study. This study used a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach. The informants in this study were first, second, third, and fourth year students with six informants who met the criteria of gender and Grade Point Average (GPA), as well as four lecturers. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with medical students and in-depth interviews with lecturers. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. There are various perceptions from students regarding the provision of interactive quizzes in the learning process. The perceptions obtained are related to the advantages, disadvantages and effectiveness of providing interactive quizzes in the learning process.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the diseases that become a problem in the world because it increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, brain, kidneys, and others. However, this is often not realized because it is often without symptoms. Lifestyle plays a role in the regulation of blood pressure and contributes to the development of hypertension. One of the causes of hypertension is cholesterol. The buildup of cholesterol in the blood will clog blood vessels and stiffness occurs so that blood pressure increases. This study aims to determine the relationship between cholesterol levels and hypertension. This research method was carried out by meta-analysis research through searching articles on Google Scholar with the formula, 'The Relationship of Cholesterol Levels with Hypertension' with a range of 2019-2024. From 8 literature reviews, it was found that the majority of respondents studied who experienced elevated cholesterol levels would also experience an increase in blood pressure. After this study, there was a relationship between cholesterol levels and hypertension.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Karies gigi dan stunting merupakan masalah yang umum dijumpai pada anak prasekolah. Di Kabupaten Tulang Bawang Barat diperkirakan 84% anak prasekolah mengalami karies gigi dan 32% diantaranya merupakan karies pulpa. Demikian juga stunting yang masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat karena prevalensinya masih 16,4%.   Tujuan: menilai tingkat keparahan karies gigi dan hubungannya dengan status gizi anak prasekolah di desa lokus. Jenis penelitian ini adalah analitik observasional dengan disain penelitian yang dipilih adalah cross sectional. Populasi adalah semua siswa TK/PAUD usia 3-5 tahun di 3 kecamatan Kabupaten Tulang Bawang Barat. Data dikumpulkan dengan pemeriksaan, pengukuran dan wawancara. Data diolah secara univariat dan bivariat dengan uji statistik Chi square. Hasil: penelitian menunjukkan prevalensi karies sebesar 77,5% dan 25,2% diantaranya adalah karies pulpa. Diketahui juga angka prevalensi stunting sebesar 13,3%. Kesimpulan: ada hubungan yang bermakna secara statistik (p-value = 0,02) antara karies dan stunting.  Anak dengan karies mencapai pulpa berisiko 4,7 kali menjadi stunting dibandingkan dengan yang tidak.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pada masa remaja, kecenderungan untuk memilih makanan yang tidak sehat dan perilaku makan yang tidak teratur dapat berdampak negatif pada kesehatan dan status gizi. Salah satu perilaku makan yang sering terjadi pada remaja adalah meal skipping atau melewatkan waktu makan. Tujuan:  mengetahui factor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan status gizi pada remaja putri.  Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional. Waktu Penelitian ini adalah 6 bulan, yaitu mulai April hingga Oktober 2023. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Karang Anyar, Lampung Selatan. Populasi kasus dalam penelitian ini adalah semua Remaja Putri yang bersekolah di SMA dan sederajat di Karang Anyar. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan stratified random sampling. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis chi square. Jumlah sampel yang ikut dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 25 orang dari rumus Lemeshow. Hasil: Indeks Massa Tubuh kurang 13 orang (52%)  dan normal 12 orang (48%). Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan(p <0,05) sedangkan untuk kelengkapan jenis makanan, kebiasaan jajan, pengetahuan,  dan gangguan makan tidak mempengaruhi status gizi remaja putri (p > 0,05). Simpulan: penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pendidikan dan kebiasaan diet terhadap status gizi, serta tidak adanya hubungan antara jenis makanan, kebiasaan makan, dan gangguan makan terhadap status gizi remaja putri di Karang Anyar.
