Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate how an augmented reality mobile math trails program can provide opportunities for students to engage in meaningful mathematical modelling activities. An explorative research design was conducted involving two mathematics teachers and 30 eight grades in Semarang, Indonesia. An Augmented Reality Mobile Math Trails App was created, and several math trail tasks were designed, then students run the activity. Data were gathered by means of participatory observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and worksheets. Data analysis began with the organisation, annotation, description of the data and statistic tests. The findings indicate that an educational program was successfully designed, which offered students a meaningful mathematical experience. A mobile app was also developed to support this program. The mobile app with augmented reality features is helpful for students as a tool that bridges the gap between real-world situations and mathematical concepts in problem-solving following the mathematical modelling cycle. The program thus contributes to a higher ability in mathematical modelling. The study identified a link between instrumented techniques in programs and mathematical modelling, as built during the instrumentation process. Further studies are essential for project development and implementation in other cities with different situations and aspects of study.

Abstract

Selama ini, belum ada data yang akurat mengenai lulusan Program Studi Matematika IKIP PGRI Semarang baik yang bekerja pada sektor formal (guru, dosen, pegawai adaministrasi, dll.) maupun pada sektor informal. Padahal data mengenai profil lulusan suatu program studi sangat diperlukan antara lain untuk mengetahui: seberapa besar tingkat daya serap pasar terhadap lulusan, berapa jumlah pengangguran lulusan, kesesuaian antara subject matter dengan kebutuhan lapangan, perlunya revisi/ pembaharuan kurikulum. Studi pelacakan (tracer study) merupakan studi yang fokus utamanya untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai lulusan yang sudah bekerja maupun yang belum bekerja. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh lulusan Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika IKIP PGRI Semarang jenjang strata satu (S1) dari awal kelulusan yaitu tahun 2000 sampai dengan lulusan tahun 2005 yang berjumlah 800 orang. Dari populasi tersebut dipilih sampel secara acak 140 orang lulusan sebagai responden yang berdomisili di 7 kabupaten, yaitu Grobogan, Demak, Pati, Kudus, Kendal, Pekalongan, dan Batang.Data mengenai lulusan dengan seluruh atribut dan karakteristiknya dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan menggunakan pedoman wawancara, selain itu dengan menggunakan angket yang telah disusun sedemikian rupa untuk kebutuhan studi ini. Hasil yang diperoleh diantaranya: Seluruh responden bekerja sesuai dengan bidangnya, 100% lulusan telah bekerja dan 73% diantaranya telah mendapatkan pekerjaan tanpa masa tunggu, dan sisanya mendapatkan pekerjaan dengan masa tunggu berkisar antara 1-4 bulan, pendidikan di IKIP PGRI Semarang khususnya Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika telah sesuai dengan dunia kerja responden walaupun masih ada beberapa hal yang harus diperbaiki dan disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan di dunia kerja, dengan memperhatikan kendala yang dihadapi lulusan baik pada waktu mencari kerja maupun pada waktu bekerja, upaya yang dilakukan program studi/institut dituangkan dalam rekomendasi diantaranya: melakukan program reformulasi kurikulum, memberikan informasi bagi mahasiswa dan lulusan. ?é?á Kata Kunci: Lulusan, Tracer Study, Penyempurnaan Kurikulum

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of problem-based learning assisted by the game of snakes and ladders on students' divergent thinking skills. The type of research is quasi-experimental, and it was conducted at a public junior high school in Semarang for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling, the population in this study was the entire class VIII, and the sample in the study was class VIII F as the experiment class (KF) and class VIII E as the control class (KE). The instrument used was a test result of student learning with five description questions, the hypothesis test used is one sample t-test, independent t-test, and z-test with sig 0.05. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the experimental class learning outcomes were higher than the control class learning outcomes. One sample t-test obtained that t count = 6.045 while t table = 0.683, so that t count > t table, it can be said that KF capability average exceeds 70, independent t-test obtained sig < 0.05 which is 0.001. The average of students with learning model problem-based learning with the help of snakes and ladders game on divergent thinking ability more than the average divergent thinking ability of mathematics. It can be said that 75% of students in the experimental class completed it classically. Learning with problem-based learning assisted by snake and ladder games on the students' divergent thinking skills was effective for the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir divergen menggunakan problem based learning berbantuan snake ladder games ditinjau dari math anxiety. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed method dengan desain penelitian berupa concurrent embedded. Analisis kuantitatif digunakan untuk menguji apakah model PBL berbantuan snake ladder games mencapai ketuntasan belajar dan analisis kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir divergen ditinjau dari math anxiety dengan memilih 6 subjek menggunakan purposive sampling, yakni masing-masing 2 subjek pada tingkat math anxiety tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan uji t diperoleh bahwa pembelajaran dengan model PBL berbantuan snake ladder games mampu memberikan ketuntasan belajar, namun dengan meninjau math anxiety, secara umum siswa dengan dengan math anxiety tinggi dapat memenuhi indikator fluency dan originality. Indikator flexibility dan elaboration belum terpenuhi dengan baik. Siswa dengan math anxiety sedang dapat memenuhi indikator fluency, originality dan elaboration, dan siswa dengan math anxiety rendah memenuhi semua indikator meliputi fluency, flexibility, originality, dan elaboration. Siswa dengan ketiga tingkat math anxiety memenuhi aspek fluency dan originality dalam kemampuan berpikir divergen dengan baik

Abstract

The progress of the times requires students to be able to think quickly. Student activities in learning are always associated with technology and students’ thinking activities and are expected to think computationally. Therefore, this study aimed to determine how learning with the concept of computational thinking (CT) using the Scratch program can improve students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. An exploratory research design was conducted by involving 132 grade VIII students in Kuningan, Indonesia. Data analysis began with organization, data description, and statistical testing. The results showed that students performed the concepts of abstraction thinking, algorithmic thinking, decomposition, and evaluation in solving mathematical problems. There were differences in students’ problem-solving abilities before and after the intervention. Students’ activeness in solving problems using the CT concept through a calculator significantly affected 52.3% of the ability to solve mathematical problems.

Abstract

Hal pertama saat belajar matematika adalah aritmetika dimana langkah pertama karena menjadi fondasi untuk memahami topok selanjutnya seperti operasi dengan angka, sifat dan konsep dalam matematika yang saling berkaitan. Sehingga hal ini perlu untuk pengenalan dan pemahaman untuk membantu menguasai kemampuan matematika (walau operasi bilangan dianggap sebagai materi dasar). Untuk berhasil dalam hasil belajar matematika, siswa membutuhkan pemahaman yang kuat akan konsep ini karena berfungsi sebagai dasar untuk keterampilan matematika lainnya terutama keahlian pemecahan masalah. Siswa dan guru sama-sama sering mencari sumber informasi di internet yang mana dengan sumber tersebut jarang dimanfaatkan secara maksimal dalam pembelajaran. Selain itu, tidak semua e-modul online memenuhi standar e-modul yang baik karena desain yang kurang yang pada gilirannya mengarah ke pembelajaran di bawah standar dan sulit mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang pembuatan e-modul berbasis APOS pada aritmatika sekolah dasar dengan tujuan meningkatkan kemampuan siswa untuk belajar mandiri dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada pembelajaran matematika berpendekatan STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah systematic literature review. Diperoleh 17 artikel nasional dan internasional bereputasi yang terbit dari tahun 2017-2022 yang didapatkan dengan bantuan aplikasi publish or perish 8 dan google scholar. Hasil seleksi 17 artikel didapatkan 6 artikel nasional dan internasional bereputasi tentang kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dalam pembelajaran matematika berpendekatan STEM. Hasil identifikasi dan analisis artikel ditemukan bahwa pembelajaran matematika berpendekatan STEM menjadi salah satu alternatif pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan STEM mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang semangat dan menarik bagi siswa dan kemudian mampu meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk belajar, berkreativitas, dan berinovasi. Penggunaan model pembelajaran dalam pembelajaran matematika berpendekatan STEM dapat disesuaikan dengan materi, permasalahan serta kondisi siswa. Salah satu model pembelajaran berpendekatan STEM yang dapat memunculkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa adalah Project Based Learning (PjBL).

Abstract

This research is a development research which aims to develop a training model which is able to improve mathematics teachers’ competence and character. This research was implemented into two year phase. The first year focused on the exploration study and the model validation. This phase successfully identified the need of the mathematics teachers and generated a valid training model called the Innovative Mathematics Teaching Study (INNOMATTS). The second year focused on the implementation and dissemination of the model. This article aims to describe the practicality and the effectiveness of INNOMATTS training model in improving mathematics teachers’ competence and character as it was developed based on the mathematics teachers’ need, containing mathematics learning innovation and having orientation toward character education. The research follows the Research and Development (R D) of Gall. The evaluation of the model implementation quality used three criteria: validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The result suggests that the INNOMATTS training model is practical based on the percentage response of the planning, implementation and evaluation. The model is also effective based on the evaluation of lesson plan produced during the training, the learning implemented, and the result of teacher’s competence test.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to (1) develop a web-based e-module based on the Van Hiele Learning Phases and (2) assess the validity, practicability, and effectiveness of an e-module based on the Van Hiele Phases of Learning to enhance creative thinking skills. The research method was R&D by using ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) model. The students in this study have been from SMP Negeri 21 Semarang's VII grade. The Discovery Learning approach is used to implement e-modules in learning. And, according to the evaluation of the implementation of this e-module, the value of improving students' creative thinking capacity reveals that the average percentage improvement in the experimental class is 47% greater than the control class, which is 39%. The results of the classical completion test revealed that the average creative thinking capacity of students who took the Van Hiele e-module was greater than 75. (KKM) The comparison test results showed that the average gain in students' creative thinking skills in the experimental class was greater compared to the control class with a sig 0.037<0.005, indicating that the implementation of the e-module with the Van Hiele phase satisfies the effectiveness requirements. This study suggests that teaching materials be improved with more complete material, questions focused at higher order thinking abilities, and other mathematical skills.

Abstract

To learn about other parts of math, like how to work with numbers, you need to know arithmetic. The characteristics and concepts in mathematics are interrelated, therefore students need to acquire an introductory or basic grasp to assist in developing math skills (even if operations are considered basic stuff). This comprehension lays the groundwork for the acquisition of other mathematical talents, including problem-solving skills, which are crucial to a kid's success in school. Students and teachers alike rely heavily on online resources, yet this resource is not fully utilized in today's educational systems. In addition, not all online e-modules meet the standards of good e-modules, which results in subpar learning and makes it harder to accomplish certain educational goals. The goal of this research is to create an expert-based, user-friendly, and practical e-module for teaching elementary school mathematics that incorporates APOS theory in order to improve students' ability to learn independently and solve problems. This type of research is Design Research with the type of development studies divided into three phases, namely Preliminary research, Development or prototyping phase, and Assessment phase. Students from SMP Negeri 1 Winong, and MA Darul Ma'la made up the research sample. The data was gathered through a combination of tests, questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The study's findings demonstrate that the generated e-modules are of sufficient quality in terms of being valid, practical, and effective. validated by material experts and media experts, including lecturers and teachers, so that this e-module is considered valid by material experts and media experts, practical by lecturers, teachers, and students who use it through questionnaires, and effective based on problem-solving abilities and student learning independence after implementation.
