Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of work life balance, and work motivation on employee performance with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. This study is quantitative using primary data taken by distributing questionnaires via Google Form. The population in this study was 235 people. The sample collection technique used purposive sampling technique with the criteria of civil servants and a minimum work period of more than 1 year so that a research sample of 192 people was obtained. The analysis tool used in this study was SEM-PLS. The results of this study indicate that work life balance and work motivation have a positive effect on employee performance and job satisfaction. Job satisfaction has a positive effect on employee performance. And job satisfaction can mediate the effect of work life balance and work motivation on employee performance. The R² value of 47% shows that the employee performance variable can be explained by the variables in this study. The implication based on the research conducted is that the company must always maintain employee work life balance in order to provide employee satisfaction while working and provide good performance. In addition, the company is also expected to be able to provide work motivation to employees so that they can work optimally to achieve common goals.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of workload and work stress on the performance of nurses at RSI PKU Muhammadiyah Tegal, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach, with primary data obtained through a questionnaire using Google Form. The study population included 231 nurses and samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of a minimum work period of 2 years and nurses who work in the inpatient room. The number of respondents who met the criteria was 104 nurses. Data analysis was carried out using the SEM PLS3 method. The results of this study indicate that workload and work stress have a positive effect on nurse performance. workload has also been shown to have a positive impact on job satisfaction levels. However, on the contrary, work stress does not show any effect on job satisfaction. In addition, job satisfaction can act as a mediator in the relationship between workload and work stress on nurse performance.

Abstract

Ramalina sp. (Ramalinaceae) is a type of lichen known to contain many active secondary metabolite compounds that have the potential to be used as medicine or medicinal raw materials. One of the biological activities possessed by Ramalina sp. lichen is its anticancer activity. This research aims to isolate and identify active secondary metabolite compounds from the methanol extract of the Ramalina sp. lichen and to find out the cytotoxic activity of the isolated compound against MCF7 breast cancer cells. Compound 1 (usnic acid) was successfully isolated from fraction A. The isolation and purification process was carried out starting with a maceration process using acetone solvent, followed by silica gel column chromatography using a gradient solvent system consisting of n-hexane, n-hexane:EtOAc, EtOAc, EtOAc:MeOH, and MeOH with 5% increment of polarity to obtain 17 fractions (F-1 to F-17). From the 17 fractions obtained, fraction 3 (F-3) and fraction 4 (F-4) (eluted with n-hexane:EtOAc 30%), which had the same TLC profile, were combined and named as fraction A. Compound 1 (50 mg) is a yellow needle crystal that was formed in a bottle of fraction A, which was obtained after the process of combining fractions F-3 and F-4 and solvent evaporation process. The crystals were then separated and purified with CHCl3 and MeOH. Compound 1 was then characterized based on spectroscopic data. Various spectroscopic analysis data, including FTIR, 1D- and 2D-NMR, and LC-ESI-MS, show that Compound 1 is a dibenzofuran derivative compound with 18 carbons (3 from carbonyl groups (C=O) and 3 from methyl groups) and 2 hydroxyl (-OH). Cytotoxicity assay showed that at a low concentration of 18.75 ug/mL, Compound 1 caused a 67.06% decrease in MCF7 viability

Abstract

With an emphasis on the mediating function of job satisfaction, this study investigates the impact of rewards and work-life balance on university employee retention. 252 staff members from three Purwokerto universities : UIN Saizu, UMP, and UNU participated in the study utilizing the purposive sampling technique, and SEM-PLS was used to analyze the data. The findings indicate that rewards have an impact on job satisfaction but do not directly raise employee retention. Work-life balance, on the other hand, affects retention both directly and indirectly through job satisfaction. Employees are more likely to be content and loyal to the company when they feel appreciated and have a healthy work-life balance. These results emphasize how crucial it is to design equitable and healthy work practices in order to increase retention. Higher education institutions are urged to create retention strategies centered on work-life balance, rewards, and job satisfaction for practical reasons. However, just three universities in a single region were included in the study. It is recommended that more institutions be included in future studies to have a more comprehensive picture.
