Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the 5S method (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) across various industries to improve efficiency, productivity, and work quality. The research method employed is a systematic literature review, analyzing 50 national and international journals selected based on relevance to the topic, industrial sectors, and 5S implementation outcomes. The findings show that 5S implementation provides multiple benefits, such as reducing operational time, improving storage efficiency, minimizing waste, enhancing workplace safety, and reducing material or tool searching time. Practical examples include an 8% reduction in blowing operational time in the plastic manufacturing industry and a 95.37% reduction in spare part searching time in the printing sector. In the healthcare sector, 5S has also proven effective in reducing patient waiting times to a more efficient level. The study further reveals that the success of 5S implementation is highly influenced by management commitment and active employee participation. In some cases, 5S not only increases productivity but also improves employee morale and job satisfaction. Nevertheless, some studies note challenges such as a lack of training and limited understanding of 5S concepts, which may hinder successful implementation. Overall, the 5S method is an effective approach to optimizing work processes, reducing waste, and enhancing organizational competitiveness across various industrial sectors. With planned and sustainable application, 5S can serve as a strong foundation for lean manufacturing transformation and a more productive work culture. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi metode 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) dalam berbagai industri untuk meningkatkan efisiensi, produktivitas, dan kualitas kerja. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah literature review dengan pendekatan sistematis, melalui analisis terhadap 50 jurnal nasional dan internasional yang dipilih berdasarkan relevansi topik, sektor industri, serta hasil implementasi 5S. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan 5S memberikan berbagai keuntungan, seperti pengurangan waktu operasional, peningkatan efisiensi ruang penyimpanan, penurunan limbah, peningkatan keselamatan kerja, dan pengurangan waktu pencarian material atau alat. Contoh nyata dari penerapan ini terlihat dalam pengurangan waktu operasional blowing hingga 8% di industri manufaktur plastik dan pengurangan waktu pencarian spare part sebesar 95,37% pada sektor percetakan. Selain itu, pada sektor kesehatan, 5S mampu mengurangi waktu tunggu pasien di rumah sakit hingga ke tingkat yang lebih efisien. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa keberhasilan penerapan 5S sangat dipengaruhi oleh komitmen manajemen dan partisipasi aktif karyawan. Dalam beberapa kasus, implementasi 5S tidak hanya meningkatkan produktivitas tetapi juga meningkatkan moral dan kepuasan kerja karyawan. Kendati demikian, beberapa studi mencatat adanya tantangan, seperti kurangnya pelatihan dan pemahaman konsep 5S, yang dapat menghambat keberhasilan implementasi. Secara keseluruhan, metode 5S merupakan pendekatan yang efektif untuk mengoptimalkan proses kerja, mengurangi pemborosan, dan meningkatkan daya saing organisasi di berbagai sektor industri. Dengan penerapan yang terencana dan berkelanjutan, 5S dapat menjadi fondasi yang kuat bagi transformasi lean manufacturing dan budaya kerja yang lebih produktif.

Abstract

The State Electricity Company (PLN) serves all Indonesian people from Sabang to Merauke with overhead lines and cable lines. The frequency of blackouts in an area due to disturbances in the channel. PLN seeks to suppress disturbances by carrying out maintenance, namely turning it off or without being extinguished. Medium Voltage Air Lines (SUTM) are more frequent disturbances. The worst damage happened to the conductors, Jumpers, and insulators. Damage will often occur if it is not predictable. In order to find out when damage occurs, a method based on Predictive Maintenance is used, namely maintenance based on historical disturbance data statistics. Predictive Maintenance can be realized by using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). From the results of RCM calculations and statistical data on one PLN unit, there is a new value for predictive maintenance time intervals, for conductors maintenance schedule must be carried out every 2 days, Jumpers every 12 days, and isolators every 16 days before serious damage occurs and widespread blackout Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) melayani seluruh masyarakat Indonesia dari Sabang sampai Merauke dengan saluran udara dan saluran kabel. Frekuensi terjadi pemadaman pada suatu wilayah karena adanya gangguan pada saluran tersebut. PLN berupaya untuk menekan gangguan dengan melakukan pemeliharaan, yaitu dipadamkan atau tanpa dipadamkan. Saluran Udara Tegangan Menengah (SUTM) lebih sering terjadi gangguan. Kerusakan terparah ternyata terjadi pada konduktor, Jumper dan isolator. Kerusakan akan sering terjadi apabila tidak mampu diprediksi. Untuk dapat mengetahui kapan akan terjadi kerusakan digunakan metode berbasis Predictive Maintanance, yaitu pemeliharaan berdasarkan statistik data historis gangguan. Predictive Maintenance dapat terwujud dengan menggunakan  Relliability Centered Maintanance (RCM). Dari hasil perhitungan RCM dan data statsik pada salah satu unit PLN, maka terdapat nilai baru intuk interval waktu pemeliharaan secara predictive, untuk konduktor harus dilakukan penjadwalan pemeliharaan setiap 2 hari, Jumper setiap 12 hari, dan Isolator setiap 16 hari sebelum terjadi kerusakan yang parah dan pemadaman meluas.

Abstract

Companies that are able to survive in fierce competition in the market are not companies that have large capital, but companies that are able to respond quickly to market demand. For this reason, companies need to improve all lines to achieve effective and efficient productivity levels. The implementation of lean manufacturing can be carried out in production companies so that they are able to provide quality products according to market demand and have low costs without having to reduce the added value of their products. The purpose of this research is to find steps to reduce various kinds of waste in the production line by using lean manufacturing principles in the food industry. A literature review was carried out using the following criteria: lean manufacturing, food production, tools used in lean manufacturing, and the waste that occurs. The results obtained from the literature review are by implementing lean manufacturing on production lines that are able to reduce costs, improve long process flows, but must be accompanied by the company's readiness to support financially and other things.

Abstract

Based on an estimate for 2030, Indonesia's workforce needs are estimated to reach 113,000,000 people. From data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in Indonesia reached 8.42 million people as of August 2022. The highest TPT, namely 9.42%, was contributed by SMK graduates. Seeing this, an action is needed to align learning in the classroom to suit the needs of the industrial world. The literature review approach is used to find research gaps in the application of lean learning in vocational education using VosViewers. Based on the results of the VosViewers analysis and the SOTA matrix, it was found that the use of SERVQUAL has been quite widely applied in the service sector, but the combination of EDUQUAL and KANO has not been widely studied in the education world, especially in LEAN LEARNING research in vocational education.

Abstract

Quality Control Circle (QCC) is a routine activity that is carried out systematically in various manufacturing industries by employees in the department, which is a demand from the current conditions of the manufacturing industry which are currently developing in various industries. Quality products in accordance with applicable regulations can overcome problems regarding quality, which is an action to improve quality aimed at increasing competition in gaining consumer loyalty. The purpose of this article is to explore the benefits and proposals for implementing QCC or what is known as the quality control group, which is a method to improve product quality, productivity and reduce product defects in various industries to provide recommendations to the aviation industry in Indonesia. Writing articles in this study by conducting literature reviews from international journals and national journals in various industries, by collecting and analyzing then concluding as many as 21 journals published in 2010 to 2023 regarding the implementation of QCC. Journals that have been collected are then analyzed by looking for research objectives and results then drawing conclusions from various journals, with analysis of literature reviews that can improve product quality, productivity, and reduce product defects in various industries so that researchers recommend the application of the QCC method in the aviation industry based on on a literature review.
