Abstract

Research on magnetic oxide is growing very rapidly. This magnetic oxide can be found in nature that is iron sand. Iron sand is a deposition of sand containing iron ore that many exist along the beach. One of the beaches in West Sumatra containing iron sand is Tiram Beach, Padang Pariaman District, Sumatera Barat. The content of iron sand is generally in the form of magnetic minerals such as magnetite, hematite, and maghemit. Magnetite contained in iron sand has excellent properties that can be developed into thin films that can later be applied to magnetic sensors. The purpose of this research is to investigate the optical properties of the Fe3O4 thin films, prepared from iron sand of Tiram Beach, Padang Pariaman District, Sumatera Barat by Sol-Gel Spin Coating Method. This type of research is an experimental research. The iron sand obtained from nature is first purified using permanent magnets, then made in nanoparticle size using the HEM-E3D tool. Then, the process of making thin film with sol-gel spin coating method. In this research variation of rotation speed of spin coating is 1000 rpm, 2000 rpm, 2500 rpm and 3000 rpm. The characterization tool in the research of optical properties analysis used is UV-VIS Spectrophotometer. The value of transmittance is 32,1%, 32,2% and 32,7% respectively. The absorbance value is 96,721% - 31,247%, 95,428% - 33,785% and 93,54% - 33,551% respectively. While the reflectance values are 33,2%, 33,7% and 34,2%, respectively. So it can be concluded that the greater the speed of rotation the thickness of the thin layer will be smaller, resulting in the transmittance and reflectance will be greater, while the absorbance will be smaller. Energy gap obtained from this research is 3,75 eV, 3,75 eV and 3,74 eV. So the average energy gap obtained is 3,75 eV

Abstract

Cobalt Ferrite (CoFe2O4) is a magnetic material that has high coercivity, magnetic properties, and has electrical resistivity and high saturation magnetization, very suitable for applications in the field of magnetic, magnetic sensors, magnetic sensor constituents, biomedical materials, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and hypertamia. The purpose of the survey is to explain the composition of the CoFe2O4 composition on the magnetic properties of the CoFe2O4 / PVDF nanocomposites synthesized by the Sol-Gel Method. There are three research results from vsm test data on hysteresis curves. First, the magnetization saturation data of each variation obtained results of 2.07 memu, 0.97 memu, 2.18 memu, 1.07 memu, and 0.91 memu. Second, the Remanent Magnetization data obtained results are 0.41 memu, 0.28 memu, 0.35 memu, 0.27 memu, and 0.16 memu. Third, the Medan Coercivity data is 208.31 Oe, 293.42 Oe, 163.20 Oe, 335.88 Oe, and 93.86 Oe.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a considerable amount of mining products such as iron sand that can be found along the beach, one of them is the Tiram Beach in Padang Pariaman district, West Sumatera. Iron sand can be applied to electronics, computing, and the automotive industry sector because it contains magnetic material. Magnetite iron sand is iron oxidation which has the strongest magnetic characteristic, which is made in nano size has ferromagnetic characteristic and has a wide application, the development of ferrite materials in the form of thin layer oriented to recording media and also can be used as a magnetic sensor device. The research is to inquire effect  spin coating velocity on conductivity of thin layer.In the research, variation of spin coating velocity 1000 rpm, 2000 rpm, and 3000 rpm are done with the time of 60 seconds toward magnetite gel solution which has been sol-gel, after rotated then the thin layer formed is measured by using four point probe method. The result from research obtained conductivity value that is on velocity 1000 , 2000, and 3000 rpm conductivity value shows that the effect of spin coating velocity on the magnetite thin layer conductivity that is the higher it is spin coating speed, the higher it is the conductivity

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect variations composition of Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) and wood dust on the physical properties and mechanical properties of particle board. Particle board is made from EFB fiber and wood dust and added 30% adhesive. each particle boards have various compositions. In this study, the independent variable in the form of variations in the composition of the EFB fiber and wood dust that is 20: 80%, 40: 60%, 50: 50%, 60: 40%, 80%: 20%. The dependent variable in the form of physical properties such as moisture content, density, and mechanical properties such as flexural strength and compressive strength.. In general the values obtained physical and mechanical propertiesare density, flexural strength, compressive strength which is optimal in the variation 50% EFB : 50% wood dust, but the moisture content obtained optimal value at variation 40% EFB: 60% wood dust. All fulfill the SNI standard except for the value of the flexural strength

Abstract

As technology develops at this time, all electronic components require a voltage source. One source of voltage is the battery. West Sumatra is one area that is rich in eccentrics. Iron ore content in Tiram Beach in West Sumatra is 34.015%, followed by other elements as pollutants. However, basically there is still a lack of public knowledge about nano materials. Nano composite is a mixture of matrix and filler with a certain composition. This study aims to find out which is good for making lithium batteries. The requirement for making lithium batteries is high conductivity and high capacitance. At this time also look at the properties of fe3O4 nano compresses. Based on experiments that have been carried out will produce Fe3O4 and PVDF, the greater the value of electrical conductivity and capacitance will be. The conductivity values obtained were 437082.9 S / m, 8337755 S / m, 753969 S / m, 9300430 S / m, 1034708 S / m and the capacitance value was 35.94μF, 37.8 μF, 5.2 μF, 194 μF, 2.68 μF. Based on the results that can be used is a large amount of 10 ml: 30 ml.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to analys physical quality (temperature, pH, electrical conductivitas, turbiditas, and concentrasion of lead) at Maninjau Lake. Maninjau Lake has problem die of fish and make harm farmer of keramba. This research use variation of distance 0 m, 5 m and 10 m and three locations Bayua, Koto Gadang and Sigiran.  The standart for physical quality, temperature 23-30 oC use Thermometry, turbiditas <5 NTU use Turbidimetry, pH 6-9, electrical conductivitas <250 µS/cm use Conductivity Metry and then concentration of Lead <0,03 mg/l use AAS. The result Bayua has worse the physical quality (temperature 31,0 oC, pH 5,6, electrical conductivitas 125,2 µS/cm, turbiditas 5,1 NTU, Lead 0,954142 mg/l). While Koto Gadang (temperature  29,5 oC, pH 7,1, conductivitas 123,1 µS/cm, turbiditas 4,8 and concentrasion of lead 0,3778 mg/l) has worse the physical quality than Sigiran (temperature  27,5 oC, pH 7,5, conductivitas 99,7 µS/cm, tur

Abstract

Manganese ferrite (MnFe2O4) has an MnFe2O4 structure in which its manufacture uses manganese mineral powder. MnFe2O4/ PVDF nanocomposites are made in the form of thin films to see the electrical properties that are affected by variations in composition. MnFe2O4/ PVDF nanocomposites were characterized using XRD, FTIR and FPP. The XRD characterization results show that the Monoclinic Crystalline form for PVDF and Cubic for MnFe2O4, the angular value of 2θ formed is the greater the composition of MnFe2O4 from small to large used, then MnFe2O4 and PVDF are already present in the MnFe2O4/ PVDF angles which are seen in the composition of MnFe2O4 from small to large used, then MnFe2O4 and PVDF are already present in MnFe2O4 / PVDF diffraction peak. FTIR characterization results can be seen that MnFe2O4 successfully binds to PVDF, where Fe-O is a functional group MnFe2O4 and CH2 is a PVDF functional group. The results of the FPP characterization show that if the MnFe2O4 composition is getting bigger and the PVDF composition is getting smaller, the resistivity value is small and the conductivity value is greater.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Utilization of leaf waste processed a drop of without development in the processing. The thought of leaf  waste can be processed to become products of economic value, one used as raw material similar lightweight particle board, particle board can be used as a substitute for wood. Particle board manufacturing is done by printing the leaf waste that has been mixed with a binder or adhesive. Adhesives used as binder is polyvinyl acetate (PVAC). Leaf waste material made with a variety of different grain sizes are 1.7 mm, 2.8 mm and 4.75 mm. Particle board manufacturing process is done by inserting the material into the machine hot press with pressure 330 x 104 kg/m2 at 100 ° C for 20 min. From the testing of physical and mechanical properties, obtained the following results: for the physical properties of particle board dry leaf waste, the small grain size of particle board then dried leaf waste moisture content decreases while the value of the density and thickness development is increasing. For the mechanical properties of particle board, the small grain size of particle board then the value of flexural strength and compressive strength increased. Test results obtained water content and density to meet the Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI 03-2105-2006), while the value of developing strong and thick flexible does not meet the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 03-2105-2006). For compressive strength values no set of Standar Nasional Indonesia. Abstract

The utilization of pensi (Corbicula moltkiana) shell waste in Maninjau lake is not optimal so that we need an effort to make it has economic value. One of them is using calcium carbonate in pensi shell. Calcite is one of calcium carbonate polymorphs are often used in industrial paint, paper, ink, and other chemical industries. This experiment aims to determine optimum of calcination temperature to obtain calcite in pensi shell can be exploited and has economic value. The method that used is by giving calcination temperature of 300˚C, 320˚C, 340˚C, 360˚C, 380˚C, dan 400˚C to pensi shell and then characterized using XRF and XRD. Result of characterization using XRF show that pensi shell containe calcium element is 93,207% dan about 6% of other elements such as Si, Al, Ag, Mg, P, dan Fe. The result of characterizaion using XRD that compared with the ICDD database show that calcite phase has Rombhohedral structure with unit cell a = 4,9590Å, b = 7.9680Å, and c = 5.4710Å. Based of analysis can be concluded that the increase in temperature causes increasing intensity of calcite and dominant temperature to obtaine calcite phase at 400˚C

Abstract

One of the problems found in the implementation of the curriculum of 2013 is not all competency skills can be performed well. Therefore, to overcome these problems, virtual laboratory designed to competencies skill of physics. One of the design objectives virtual laboratory is to improve the quality of education and learning in physics in high school. The method used in this study is a research method development four D model with the definition phase , design phase , development phase, and dissemination phase. Research has reached the stage of development and has been tested valid specialist. The instrument used in the research is a questionnaire consisting of: 1) the material substance; 2) The display of visual communication; 3) instructional design; 4) the use of software; and 5) Linguistic. The results obtained to test the validity in general has been very good category (85.6), so that the design of virtual labs designed can already be used in high school.
