Abstract

In sandwich-generation families, there are individuals who simultaneously support the financial needs of children and the elderly. This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design using an online survey as a data collection tool. The study was conducted in Indonesia with a research population including sandwich families living in one house consisting of three generations: husband and wife, children, and elderly. The research sample consisted of working wives from the sandwich generation. Of the 223 respondents who participated, 106 met the criteria for further analyses. The results show that spousal education and income play important roles in reducing financial vulnerability and improving family welfare. Harmonious interactions between husbands and wives can reduce financial vulnerability and improve family welfare. Conversely, high financial vulnerability can disrupt a family's objective welfare if not properly managed. The conclusion is the need to improve financial literacy, create a good financial management strategy, and maintain open and harmonious communication between husband and wife to reduce financial vulnerability and improve the welfare of sandwich-generation families.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted every element of adolescent life worldwide, including Indonesia. This study intended to examine how adolescents' loneliness and mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic are affected by their family relationships and online friendships. This study collects data using an online questionnaire. The Mental Health Continuum-Short Form, the UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3, the Brief Family Relationship Scale, and the Online Friendship Scale were used to collect the data. Two hundred ninety-two students aged 12-18 participated in data gathering in Jakarta, Indonesia, between March and April 2021. Descriptive, correlation and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analyses were conducted using SPSS 25.0 and LISREL 8.80. This research revealed that family relationships and online friendships had a negative effect on loneliness. Family relationships favorably impact adolescent mental health, but loneliness negatively impacts it. Furthermore, family relationships and online friendships indirectly affect adolescents' mental health through loneliness. These findings may implement in developing interventions to assist adolescent mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

Abstract

Halal tourism is a growing market segment driven by the increasing demand for travel experiences that adhere to Islamic principles. As the global Muslim population continues to expand, the prospects for halal tourism are substantial, with significant market value and robust growth trends. Indonesia, with its diverse attractions like West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), plays a strategic role in this sector. This study investigates the factors influencing tourist intentions to visit NTB's halal destinations, employing a systematic literature review using the PRISMA technique. Key factors impacting tourist intentions include the availability of halal food, halal accommodation, halal tourism promotion, and the socio-cultural environment. Additionally, halal certification and effective promotional strategies serve as partial moderators, enhancing these influences on tourist decision-making. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders, offering a model for attracting and retaining tourists in halal destinations. This research contributes uniquely by providing a comprehensive analysis of tourist intention factors within NTB's halal tourism context, supporting sustainable and inclusive tourism development.
