Abstract

Abstract

The decline in people's income causes their financial prosperity. This can occur due to a lack of public awareness in managing finances for the future or a lack of interest in investing. This research aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy (knowledge, attitudes and behavior) on investment interest. This research is a quantitative descriptive study involving 205 respondents who met the criteria, namely adults and not yet invested. Sampling was carried out using voluntary sampling techniques from people who were willing to become respondents. The data collected is primary data obtained directly from respondents by filling out an online questionnaire. The research results show that the respondents' financial knowledge is in the low category, while the respondents' financial attitudes and behavior are in the medium category. The investment interest of all respondents is in the low category. The results of the analysis also show that investment interest is directly influenced by financial knowledge and financial attitudes. Financial knowledge has an indirect influence on investment interest, namely through financial attitudes. It is hoped that the public can increase their financial literacy and interest in investing through socialization, advocacy and mentoring programs.

Abstract

In contemporary society, smartphones have evolved into essential tools, with fast internet connectivity playing a pivotal role. In Indonesia, the deployment of 5G networks, the fastest in the industry, has officially begun, though it's limited to just nine regions. Notably, between 2021 and 2022, the sales of 5G smartphones in Indonesia surged twofold. This research investigates the factors influencing the purchase intention of 5G smartphones in Indonesia. It employs the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as the foundational framework and extends it with variables such as facilitating conditions and customer preferences. Customer preferences mediate the relationship between price, product features, aesthetic value, and purchase intention. Employing quantitative analysis via Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 3.0, this study engaged 335 respondents from diverse regions in Indonesia. The findings indicate that attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control, customer preferences, and facilitating conditions significantly impact purchase intention. Product features and aesthetic value, but not price, influence customer preferences. Smartphone manufacturers can capitalize on these preferences by highlighting the unique features and aesthetic values of 5G smartphones and promoting their advantages and value for money through digital and print media. This research provides valuable insights for marketing professionals and policymakers in Indonesia's growing 5G smartphone market.

Abstract

Background: Public transportation is an important key to solving traffic congestion and air pollution problems. Bogor is ranked as the 832nd most congested city globally in 2022 and has a poor air quality index. In an effort to mitigate these challenges, the government initiated a soft launch of a public transportation service in Bogor City, named BISKITA Transpakuan, in November 2021. But, from May 2023 to May 2024, the average daily ridership of BISKITA Transpakuan was only 0.86%. In contrast, cities worldwide that have successfully achieved public transportation utilization targets aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals typically exhibit daily ridership percentages ranging from 9% to 12%. Consequently, concerted efforts are necessary to increase BISKITA Transpakuan ridership.Purpose: The study investigates the impact of service quality and customer satisfaction on reuse intention within the urban public transportation context, specifically focusing on the BISKITA Transpakuan bus transit system in Bogor, Indonesia.Design/methodology/approach: The research employs a hybrid data collection approach, combining online and offline surveys, to gather responses from 250 BISKITA Transpakuan passengers. The study utilizes Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the relationships between transportation performance, driver performance, service quality, customer satisfaction, and reuse intention.Finding/result: The findings reveal that both transportation performance and driver performance significantly influence service quality. However, while transportation performance directly impacts customer satisfaction, driver performance's effect is mediated through service quality. The study also confirms the significant role of service quality and customer satisfaction in shaping reuse intention. The predominance of female passengers and those aged 19-35 underscores the need for gender-sensitive infrastructure and services. Conclusion: The direct and positive influence of transportation performance on service quality, customer satisfaction, and reuse intention highlights its significance in enhancing the overall passenger experience. While driver performance also plays a crucial role in shaping service quality, its impact on customer satisfaction and reuse intention is indirect, mediated through the perceived quality of service. The substantial proportion of passengers residing in Bogor Regency suggests potential for service expansion. To enhance Bogor's public transportation, management should optimize vehicle maintenance, routes, schedules, and driver training, prioritizing passenger comfort and female passenger safety. The government should also analyze bus stop regulations for efficiency and accessibility while increasing subsidies to reduce fares and support operators.Originality/value (state of the art): This study contributes significantly to the measurement of service quality in the transportation service sector. The use of reuse intention variables provides a better understanding of the relationship between service quality and consumer decision-making. Abstract

Abstract

The attainment of post-secondary education is one of the catalysts for social mobility necessary to meet the economic demand for educated labor. Through higher education, students gain broader opportunities to develop their skills and potential. To achieve this, students need to be college-ready, which involves both cognitive and non-cognitive aspects. This study aims to analyze the effect of parent-adolescent interaction, family socioeconomic status, peer influence, and adolescent motivation on the college readiness of SMA and SMK students in coastal areas. A cross-sectional study design with a cluster random sampling technique was used. The study involved 184 students (76 from SMA; 108 from SMK) aged 15-18 living in the coastal area of Cirebon Regency, West Java. Abstract

A dual-earner family is a condition where the husband and wife work outside the home and also take care of the children at home simultaneously to fulfill the family's needs. Families in middle age undergo significant transitions, affecting both their external and internal dynamics. This research aims to analyze the impact of work-family conflict on the life satisfaction of working middle-aged families. This research was conducted using a purposive sampling with a questionnaire in Greater Jakarta. This study was conducted from July to August 2024. Data analysis was performed using SMART-PLS 3 to investigate the influence between variables. This research involved 99 women aged 46-50 years (middle age), and worked outside the home with productive working hours (7-8 hours a day). The results show that the majority of wives who work in middle age can handle work-family conflict and have good life satisfaction. The SEM analysis reveals that the higher the work-family conflict, the lower a person's life satisfaction in the family will be. This research strengthens the structural-functional theory which states there must be a homeostasis principal to maintain their respective roles in the family. This study implies that working families need to maintain a balance between work and life to enhance overall family well-being.
