Abstract

This research is based on the problems in SMAN 10 Padang, namely the low attention of students during the learning process takes place. One of the factors that influenced it was the use of cellphones during the learning process. Students tend to use mobile phones not only to find learning material, but also use it for personal purposes such as replying to messages or playing games. Submission of material by teachers tends to be less interesting and monotonous, to overcome students' lack of attention in learning using PowerPoint. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of using Powerpoint in increasing the learning attention of class X students at SMAN 10 Padang. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with Randomized Control-Group Posttest Only Design. The population in this study were all tenth grade students of SMAN 10 Padang. The sample in this study were class X students of SMA N 10 Padang Academic Year 2018/2019 and the samples used were students of class X MIA 2 as a control class and X MIA 3 as an experimental class. The instrument used to assess students' attention is the student learning attention assessment sheet filled in by the observer. Based on the results of the study using the t-test it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of PowerPoint in increasing student learning attention. It was proven that the average attention of the experimental class was higher than the control class.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low activity and learning outcomes of students in learning. Learning is still teacher centered. Student do activities outside of learning. We need a model to motivate student in learning. The model can be used is Snowball Throwing.The purpose of writing this article is to  look at the correlation of the application of the Snowball Throwing model to student outcomes. This research methode by reviewing journal uses 5 journal with ISSN. Dewi's research (2015) states that the Snowball Throwing model assisted by interactive multimedia has an effect on student learning outcomes. Handayani's research (2017) states that the Snowball Throwing model has an influence on student learning outcomes. Fitri's research (2017) states that the Snowball Throwing model with word square media has a positive influence on the activities and learning outcomes of students. Najla (2017) and Purba (2020) state that there are differences in learning outcomes between classes that use Snowball Throwing and those that don't. Thus it shows the Snowball Throwing model has a correlation with the learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by learning that is still teacher-centered, students are not actively involved and do not take learning activities seriously. Learning using the lecture and discussion method, but in practice students do not understand the steps of the activity method used. At the time of learning, many students carry out activities outside of learning activities. Students do not concentrate on listening to the teacher's explanation and there is no collaboration between students and other students. So that the low competence of learning science students both in the aspects of knowledge, attitudes and skills. Efforts that can be made are applying the Think Talk Write type of cooperative learning model. Think Talk Write learning model is a learning model that can develop students' thinking, speaking and writing skills. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Think Talk Write type of cooperative learning model on students' science learning competencies. This research was conducted by reviewing several national-scale journals in Indonesia. The journal used is a journal that has 5 ISSN journals. The results obtained from the journal review are that there is a correlation between the application of the Think Talk Write type cooperative learning model to the science learning outcomes of students. This is evidenced by research conducted by Daha (2018), Sari (2017), Hulu (2019), Fitriana (2017), Erlija (2018) which uses a cooperative learning model type Think Talk Write assisted by media in learning.

Abstract

This research is based on the problems by science teachers, namely the daily test scores of students, more than 50% of students get scores below the minimum completeness criteria. The purpose of this study is (1) to reveal the presence or absence of differences in learning outcomes between students who are taught using a cooperative learning model type Group Investigation (GI) with students who are taught using conventional learning models, (2) reveal the presence or absence of scientific attitude differences, among students who are taught to use a cooperative learning model type of Group Investigation (GI) with students who are taught using conventional learning models. This research is an experimental study with the research Static Group Comparison Design. The subjects in this study were 8th grade students of the 11th Junior High School in Padang 2018/2019 in 64 students. The research instrument used was in the form of posttest for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for attitude and skills competencies.The hypothesis in this study was tested using the t ^ test. The results of the t-test are known that in the competency of knowledge t count 2.18> t table 2.04, the competency attitude t count 3.36> t table 2.04, while the competency skills t count 1.40 <t table. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted for knowledge and attitude competencies. So it can be concluded that the application of the Group Investigation learning model can improve student learning competencies in the material of Excretion Systems at Padang 11 Public Middle School with a confidence level of 0.975

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum encourages students to be more active and independent when getting information about learning materials. Therefore, teachers are required to be able to increase students' learning motivation, one of which is by developing learning media that can attract students' learning interest. The purpose of this study was to see the needs of students for learning media with ESQ nuances about bacteria as a supplement to biology teaching materials for class X science SMAN 2 Payakumbuh. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The method used to collect data was done through distributing questionnaires to class XII students and interviewing two teachers, namely a biology teacher and an Islamic religious education teacher. In addition, the daily test results obtained by students were also used as data in this study. The results of the study revealed that students had difficulty in understanding biology learning about bacterial material due to the difficulty of observing micro learning objects plus less supportive learning media where the images on the learning media were of very low quality and colorless. This results in a lack of student motivation in participating in the learning process. For that we need a learning media that is easy to understand and has high quality images so that it can be studied independently by students.

In the learning process the teacher rarely trains students problem solving skills and currently Science literacy in Indonesia is low compared to other countries. The results of the preliminary test showed that the average problem solving skills of students was less than 50%. This study aims to look at the effect of the problem solving model on problem solving skills of grade VII students of SMPN 34 Padang. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with the Control Group Posttest Only Design. The study population was VII grade students of 34 SMPN Padang in the 2018/2019 academic year. The research sample of students in class VII 4 as the experimental class and VII 5 as the control class. Sampling using a porposive sampling technique. Instruments in the form of observation sheets observation of student activities to obtain data problem solving skills, observation sheets to obtain scientific attitude data, question sheets to obtain knowledge data. Based on the results of the students' knowledge competency research, the tcount 2,24> ttable 1,67. The activity of problem solving skills of students in the experimental class is higher than the control class. The conclusion of the study is that the application of the problem solving model has a positive effect on problem solving skills of grade VII students of SMPN 34 Padang.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effect of Two Stay Two stray  model towards students' learning competencies, which still below from the average and  there have no learning process that pursue the students  to be active and creative until the students can increase their learning competencies; knowledge, attitude and skill  in learning process. The research was quasi-experimental reserach with control  group post-test only design. The population of this research was X IPA grade students that devided into five classes at SMAN 4 Pariaman in academic year 2018/2019. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique which grade  X IPA3 as the experimental group and grade X IPA1 as the control group. The result of this research showed  the average score for grade X IPA3 was (75,43) for experimental group and  (67,57) for control group in students' learning competencies. Then for  behavioural competence the  average score in experimental group was (84,21) and the control group reached (81,86) which the data was distributed normally and variant homogeneously. In hyphotesis testing was found by the formula tcount> ttable, learning competency (3,15 > 1,67), behavioural competency (1,76 > 1,67).  Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the Two Stay Two Stray model give positive effect for the students' learning competencies in ecosystem at SMAN 4 Pariaman.

Abstract

Curriculum occupies a central position in education. Curriculum changes guided by the times and technology. The main problems of implementation of curriculum change is to change the mindset of teachers. Prospective teachers should have high order thinking skills to face the times and technology. One of efforts could be made a lecturer for conditioning of learning to be able to develop higher order thinking skills of students by using the right assessment. One assessment that play a role in increasing the skills of thinking is portfolio assessment. This study aims to describe the increase in high order thinking skills of students applying portfolio assessment. This research is a classroom action research conducted on students who take courses in curriculum and biology textbook in biology Faculty UNP in the July to December semester of 2017. The results showed an increase in high order thinking skills of students using portfolio assessment.

Abstract

The learning process at SMPN 13 Padang is teacher-centered, that effects students are less active. Teachers have not implemented innovative learning model, this makes students bored and lack of concentration during the learning process. When group discussions are held, students can not cooperate and communicate well. This resulted low competence knowledge and attitude of students, so it is necessary learning process that can improve the competence of knowledge and attitude of students by apply cooperative learning model type make a match. The purpose of this research to determine the positif effect of the model of cooperative learning type make a match to the competence of knowledge and attitude of students on the material organizational system of life in SMPN 13 Padang. This research is a experimental research with Randomized Control-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this research is students of class VII SMPN 13 Padang. Sampling by purposive sampling technique with VII.2 students as control class and VII.4 as experiment class. The research instruments are test for knowledge competence and observation sheet for attitude competence. The research hypothesis was tested by t-test. The result showed that eksperimental class and control class have different achievement of the knowledge competence with t calculate is 3,07 and t table is 1,669 and attiude competence with t calculate is 3,98 and t table is 1,669 with α 0,05. It showed that t calculate > t table, so it concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model type make a match can improve the competence of knowledge and attitude of learners on the material organizational system of life in SMPN 13 Padang.
