Abstract

Effective communication between teachers and students plays a crucial role in building positive relationships, which not only influence the classroom atmosphere but also directly impact the success of the learning process. This study employs a qualitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review method to analyze relevant literature. The literature was obtained from Google Scholar, selected based on the relevance of the titles and abstracts to the research theme. The findings indicate that effective communication between teachers and students can enhance students' self-confidence, learning motivation, and mutual respect, thereby creating a conducive learning environment. Conversely, ineffective communication may trigger conflicts, reduce learning enthusiasm, and lead to an unproductive classroom atmosphere, ultimately hindering the achievement of educational goals.

Abstract

Abstrak: Perkembangan teknologi di era digital menghadirkan berbagai aplikasi yang mendukung pembelajaran, salah satunya Canva. Platform ini memungkinkan guru untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran dan layanan yang menarik, interaktif, serta efisien. Kegiatan ini bertujuan mengembangkan hard skill dan soft skill guru bimbingan dan konseling SMK di Yogyakarta dengan pemanfaatan Canva sebagai media layanan bimbingan dan konseling. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengetahui keefektifan teknik tersebut adalah skala penilaian pemahaman pengembangan media melalaui canva yang dilakukan dengan memberikan pre-test dan post-test. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan kemampuan guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam menggunakan canva. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari rata-rata skor pre-test sebesar 48 yang mengalami peningkatan menjadi 77 pada saat pre-test. Berdasarkan hal tersebut mazka kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini telah berhasil mencapai tujuan yang ditetapkan.Abstract: The development of technology in the digital era presents various applications that support learning, one of which is Canva. This platform allows teachers to develop learning media and services that are interesting, interactive, and efficient. This activity aims to develop the hard skills and soft skills of vocational guidance and counseling teachers in Yogyakarta by utilizing Canva as a medium for guidance and counseling services. The measuring instrument used to determine the effectiveness of the technique is an assessment scale for understanding media development through Canva which is done by giving a pre-test and post-test. The results of the implementation of the activity showed an increase in the understanding and ability of guidance and counseling teachers in using Canva. This can be seen from the average pre-test score of 48 which increased to 77 during the pre-test. Based on this, this community service activity has succeeded in achieving the stated objectives.

Abstract

This writing research aims to understand the Role of Guidance and Counseling Teachers in developing student potential. The method in this writing uses the library research method or literature study as the main approach. This method includes collecting and analyzing data from various relevant written sources, including books, journals, scientific articles, and other documents related to the role of teachers in developing student potential. By using this library research method, the researcher conducted a systematic review and identification of journals which in each process followed the steps that had been set. The data analysis techniques used were clarifying, concluding, and concluding. The results of this journal writing research are: 1) Student Potential Development Strategy and 2 Guidance and Counseling Teachers' Efforts to Improve Students' Academic Achievement.

Abstract

This service project intends to help instructors at the Al Akhlakul Karimah Foundation gain insight into and absorb the virtues of the notion of peace in Javanese culture. The activity was carried out by administering a pretest questionnaire before to the distribution of content by experts and a posttest questionnaire following material exposure. Using the SPSS program, the pretest and posttest questionnaires were examined for homogeneity, normality, and t-tests. Foundation instructors are developing a better awareness of peace ideals. This is known based on the t test findings, which have a significance level of 0.010, indicating that there is an effect on teacher understanding before and after the test. The value of peace is essential to kids because it influences their conduct and character. At the Al-Akhlakul Karimah Sentolo foundation, Javanese culture-based training improved instructors' comprehension, which is intended to be used in the learning process to build students' character.

Abstract

Purpose-This study examines the effectiveness of the Jigsaw technique group guidance guide in improving students' career exploration at SMP Negeri Bontang. Career exploration is an important process in student development, especially at the junior high school level, where students begin to recognize their potential, interests, talents, and personal values while exploring relevant career opportunities. An effective career exploration process should be systematically designed through supportive services such as career guidance and interactive approaches, such as the Jigsaw technique, that encourage the development of communication, cooperation, and decision-making skills.Methodology-The Jigsaw technique can be a practical approach in group guidance services to support career exploration. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a control and experimental group design. The research subjects involved 30 students of SMPN 1 Bontang as the control group and 30 SMPN 3 Bontang as the experimental group. Data collection techniques used a career exploration scale questionnaire, while data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and N-Gain test.Findings-The results showed that the effectiveness of the Jigsaw technique group guidance guide positively influenced students' career exploration. Based on calculations using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, a significance value of 0.00 was obtained, below 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results of the Jigsaw technique group guidance service. In addition, the calculation of the gain score shows a value of 0.67, which puts the guide's effectiveness in the medium category. Thus, this Jigsaw technique group guidance guide is declared effective enough to increase the career exploration of Bontang City Public Junior High School students.Significance- The implementation of group guidance services that support career exploration is often not optimal, mainly due to the unavailability of well-structured guidelines.Keywords: Group guidance guide, Jigsaw technique, Career exploration

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to develop an instrument in the form of a self-compassion scale for public junior high school students in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region Province.Methodology – This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method. The scale's validity was assessed by three expert judgments consisting of Guidance and Counseling lecturers. The sampling technique for the reliability test used simple random sampling with a total sample of 32 public junior high school students in Sleman Regency. The instrument readability test involved 13 Guidance and Counseling teachers and five public junior high school students. The scale instrument was developed based on Neff's Self-Compassion theory, which consists of three dimensions: self-kindness vs self-judgment, common humanity vs isolation, and mindfulness vs over-identification. Content validity was measured by Aiken's Coefficient V, while reliability was tested using Cronbach's Alpha with the help of SPSS.Findings—The results of scale validation by three expert judgments showed an Aiken V index of 0.96 (highly valid). The scale's reliability based on Cronbach's Alpha was 0.88 (very high). The instrument's feasibility test showed that 100% of the statement items were feasible. In contrast, the readability test confirmed that the language in the instrument was appropriate for the age level of junior high school students.Significance—The self-compassion scale developed in this study proved valid and reliable, so it can be used as a measuring tool appropriate for the age development of junior high school students. This instrument is helpful for educators and practitioners in the field of Guidance and Counseling to measure and improve students' self-compassion in an educational context.Keywords: Self-compassion, Measurement scale, Validity, Reliability, Junior high school students

Abstract

Assessment within the framework of guidance and counselling serves as a basis for planning guidance and counseling programmes according to needs, enabling the achievement of the goals of guidance and counseling services through the suitability of the program and description of the counselee's condition and environmental conditions. This study uses a qualitative approach. Researchers used researchers as the main instrument, conducted purposive sampling of questionnaire data, used inductive/qualitative data collection and analysis techniques, and the results emphasized meaning rather than generalizations. It can be concluded that the main purpose of implementing the assessment instrument is to collect data. Data can be defined in various scientific contexts as a collection of information or information about objects or non-objects. For example, intelligence data can be defined as a collection of numbers, measurements, quantities, descriptions, or classifications of a person's intelligence. Personal data can also be defined as a collection of numbers, measurements, amounts, descriptions or classifications of a person's intelligence. In this case the data in question is student data obtained using internet-based media, namely Google Form. Overall, this discussion shows that using Google Forms as a student needs assessment tool has many advantages, such as ease of use and efficiency, as well as the ability to collect and analyze data in real time. However, keep in mind that factors related to internet access can be a barrier to this use. In such a situation, an alternative solution may be needed as described by the author in the previous paragraph. With the existence of a google form with the various conveniences offered by google, it is the author's hope that guidance and counseling teachers can utilize this media to make their work easier to be more efficient and adapt to the latest technological developments.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengadakan pelatihan pembuatan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis local wisdom untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogi guru SD di Wilayah Pengasih Kulonprogo Yogyakarta. hasil analisis kebutuhan yang dilakukan bersama Ketua K3S sekolah dasar di wilayah Pengasih melalui wawancara dan observasi diperoleh data; guru menyadari pentingnya local wisdom namun banyak tantangan dalam implementasinya seperti pengaruh pertumbuhan ipteks yang cepat dan merubah pola pikir/perilaku peserta didik di sekolah dasar.  Pembelajaran SD telah memuat unsur muatan lokal, namun guru belum mengoptimalkan pengintegrasiaan pada semua mata pelajaran di kurikulum merdeka karena jarang dilakukan pendampingan bagi guru terkait local wisdom termasu penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pelatihan pembuatan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis local wisdom untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogi guru SD. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 30 peserta yang tergabung di Pengasih, Kulonprogo. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi peningkatan kompetensi pedagogi guru dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran berbasis local wisdom secara langsung dan guru selanjutnya dapat mengaplikasikan perangkat tersebut pada pembelajaran di sekolah masing-masing. Hasil uji n-gain dan uji wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan pembuatan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kompetensi pedagogis guru SD. Pelatihan mampu memberikan tambahawan wawasan dan praktek secara langsung membuat perangkat pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal di kurikulum merdeka

Abstract

The background of this issue is Merdeka Learning Curriculum, a pedagogical initiative designed to increase learning flexibility and encourage active student engagement. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of Merdeka Curriculum on the learning motivation of high school students in Bantul. A quantitative approach was used, with a survey method to collect data from 130 students of SMA Negeri 2 Bantul consisting of grades X, XI, and XII. Respondents were proportionally selected from each level to represent the diversity of experiences in implementing Merdeka Curriculum. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire. The findings of this study, as evidenced by simple linear regression analysis, show that Merdeka Curriculum has a substantial effect on learning motivation (B = 0.266; Sig. = 0.000). Elements of the Merdeka Curriculum such as freedom to choose subjects, formative assessment, and project-based learning contribute to increasing students' intrinsic motivation. In addition, the teacher's role as a facilitator was identified as an important factor in increasing student engagement. This finding is in line with the principles of Self-Determination Theory, which emphasizes the role of autonomy in increasing motivation. This research recommends optimizing the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum through increased support for teachers and educational institutions. Future research needs to explore the long-term impact of this curriculum on student achievement.

Abstract

This research aims to discuss the understanding of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test to determine student personality. The method in this research is a theoretical or conceptual study using a qualitative descriptive method through a literature study approach or library research, which is a method of collecting data by understanding and studying theories from various literatures related to the research. The results of the study show that the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator has great potential to be applied to guidance and counseling services. The development of Jung's typology from Myers & Briggs formed 16 personality types. Each individual has all four components of the personality. The four components of personality form a certain personality type. The combination of several basic processes forms an individual's character. Individuals have two basic attitudes, viz: extrovert and introvert. These two attitudes are based on four separate functions. These functions are thinking, feeling, sensing, and intuition. Knowledge of these personality types is an important component for an educator to understand student characteristics. Based on this understanding, educators can understand that differences are natural, educators can also identify strengths and things that can be developed by students and can motivate them based on their personality characteristics.
