Abstract

White radish (Raphanus sativus L.) is a food plant with promising potential for development as a raw material for traditional medicines and functional foods. The microbiological quality of plant extracts is a critical parameter in ensuring product safety, particularly with regard to microbial contamination. By measuring the Total Plate Count (TPC) and Yeast and Mold Count (YMC), this study sought to assess the microbiological contamination of the ethanol extract of white radish tubers.  In order to measure live microorganisms expressed as CFU/g, the experiments were carried out using the pour plate technique on plate count agar (PCA).  The findings demonstrated that the ethanol extract's TPC and YMC values were both less than 1 × 10¹ CFU/g. These values are significantly lower than the maximum limits required by BPOM Regulation Number 29/2023, namely ≤10⁵ CFU/g for TPC and ≤10³ CFU/g for YMC. These findings indicate that the extraction and handling processes produced an extract with minimal microbial contamination. Overall, the results demonstrate that the ethanol extract of white radish meets microbiological safety requirements and is suitable for use as a raw material candidate in the development of traditional medicinal products.

Abstract

Excessive workload imposed on teachers poses a significant threat to their mental health, leading to emotional exhaustion and a decline in psychological well-being. This phenomenon has the potential to trigger burnout (chronic work fatigue) that destructively impacts educational performance. This article aims to systematically review recent literature on the dynamics of the relationship between job demands and leadership support (job resources) on teacher burnout and performance levels. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by examining 12 reputable journal articles (national and international) from the 2021–2024 period. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions based on the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) theoretical framework. The findings consistently show that excessive workload has a strong positive correlation with work stress and a decline in professionalism. However, these negative impacts can be significantly mitigated by certain leadership styles. Servant Leadership and Spiritual Leadership have been proven effective as moderating variables that enhance Quality of Work Life (QWL), job satisfaction, and organizational commitment, which in turn suppress turnover intention. Conclusion: Modern educational management must shift from a purely instructional approach to a humanistic approach that balances workload ratios with psychological support from leaders.

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah di Kabupaten Indramayu masih dilakukan secara manual menggunakan Microsoft Excel, sehingga proses pemantauan data menjadi kurang efisien, tidak terintegrasi, dan rawan kesalahan. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan pihak Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah mengalami kesulitan dalam memperoleh informasi pengelolaan sampah secara cepat, akurat, dan menyeluruh. Keterbatasan sistem pencatatan manual juga menghambat proses evaluasi serta pengambilan keputusan oleh pihak eksekutif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan aplikasi pemantauan pengelolaan data sampah berbasis mobile yang dapat digunakan oleh Kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kepala Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah di Kabupaten Indramayu untuk mendukung proses pemantauan secara terpusat dan terstruktur. Pengembangan aplikasi dilakukan menggunakan metode Scrum yang meliputi tahapan product backlog, sprint planning, sprint development, daily meeting, sprint testing, dan sprint review. Pengujian sistem dilakukan menggunakan metode blackbox testing untuk memastikan seluruh fungsi aplikasi berjalan sesuai kebutuhan pengguna. Selain itu, dilakukan evaluasi kepuasan pengguna menggunakan kuesioner End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) sebagai alat ukur tambahan terhadap kualitas sistem yang dikembangkan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh fitur utama aplikasi dapat berfungsi dengan baik dan aplikasi memperoleh tingkat kepuasan pengguna yang tinggi. Aplikasi ini mampu meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi proses pemantauan pengelolaan sampah dibandingkan metode manual sebelumnya. Pengembangan lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan dengan menambahkan fitur analisis serta prediksi volume sampah guna mendukung pengambilan keputusan yang lebih optimal.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Culture-Based Experiential Learning in improving writing skills and critical literacy among students of the English Language Education Study Program at Universitas Serang Raya. The background of this research stems from the low level of students’ academic writing abilities, which often fail to reflect critical awareness of social and cultural contexts. The Experiential Learning approach was chosen because it emphasizes direct experience, reflection, conceptualization, and active application components that align with the needs of culturally contextualized writing instruction. This research employs a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, involving 15 students enrolled in the Basic Writing course for one semester. Quantitative data were obtained through pre- and post-tests to measure improvements in writing skills, while qualitative data were collected through observations, interviews, and students’ reflective journals. The results indicate an average improvement of 26% in writing skills, with the highest increases observed in critical reflection (34%) and cultural theory integration (29%). Qualitative analysis reveals that direct experiences in observing and writing about cultural phenomena strengthened students’ reflective, argumentative, and contextual thinking abilities. The study concludes that integrating cultural studies within the Experiential Learning cycle fosters a more meaningful, contextual, and critical writing process. These findings offer significant implications for the development of writing pedagogy in higher education, particularly within English language learning contexts that emphasize critical literacy and cultural awareness.
