Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan budaya Sunda pada novel Perempuan Bernama Arjuna karya Remy Sylado. Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi. Sumber data penelitian ini yakni novel Perempuan Bernama Arjuna karya Remy Sylado. Adapun data penelitian ini berupa kutipan kata, kalimat, wacana, atau paragraf yang menunjukan unsur budaya Sunda. Model analisis data menggunakan analisis data Philip Mayring. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bentuk budaya Sunda pada novel Perempuan Bernama Arjuna karya Remy Sylado dikemas melalui unsur-unsur kebudayaan. Unsur budaya tersebut mencakup (1) sistem pengetahuan sejarah dan kesenian Sunda. (2) Seni tembang. (3) Seni musik. (4) Organisasi sosial berkenaan dengan perkawinan adat Sunda. (5) Bahasa yang diungkapkan mengenai bahasa tulisan.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to learn more about the cultural value of the novel Charlotte’s Web - E.B White. The qualitative descriptive technique was used in this study, which is based on the literary anthropology approach. The information was gathered by carefully reading the text, identifying, and categorizing it. The goal of this study is to help find the friendship depicted in the novel Charlotte's Web. This study focuses on the many forms of friendship and how they are depicted in the novel. W. D. Ross (1999) theory was used to identify and classify the data, while Robert Stanton's (1965) theory was utilized to analyze the friendship depicted in the novel Charlotte's Web. The findings of this study reveal three forms of friendship in the characters represented. The three forms of friendship are as follows: 1) friendship of utility, 2) friendship of pleasure, and 3) friendship of kindness.

This study aims to analyze the metamorphic sentences contained in popular folk songs in Indonesia. "Jujung Goar Hi Amang" is a Batak Toba literary song that is popular especially among the Batak community. This tune has been extensively performed each at large-scale live shows, famous film soundtracks, and the range of views that exceed four hundred thousand perspectives at the YouTube channel. The meaning of metamorphic sentences in this track includes Toba Batak's cultural values that are represented in metamorphic sentences which whilst analyzed have a totally deep that means, both in phrases of translation that means, cultural tradition, and moral messages. The lyrics of this tune have been created in accordance with emotional expressions that even constitute the life of Batak mother and father who are liable for their children in popular. The media has an important role in learning activities to be able to arouse interest, motivation, and provide stimulation to increase students learning activities. The benefit of the media in the learning process is facilitating interactions between the teacher and students, so that the learning will be more effective and efficient. Generally, the purpose of this study describes the process of applying hand puppet media to improve students’ skills in storytelling. This study uses the design of the Kemmis and McTaggart model which includes the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The technique used in collecting data is through observation and interviews, while the data analysis is done by descriptive qualitative. The findings of this study reveal an increasing in the students’ ability in storytelling for each cycle which is characterized by self-confidence, the ability to master the story, and mastery of expression. The use of hand puppets as a tool in storytelling activities can be communicative interactions and creative ideas, so that the students can focus on storytelling well. Thus, it can be concluded that hand puppets can help students improve their storytelling abilities.

The learning model is included in the civilization process of the School. It is as a culture aiming at academic achievement, cultivates attitudes, knowledge and skills of students. The habituation learning model of the pesantren style (Islamic Boarding school) applied by MAS (Islamic Senior High School) Jeumala Amal has successfully increase the school's achievements. Based on the aforementioned data, the researcher needs to do more in-depth research in obtaining detailed information reagarding the model applied so that it is applicable for other schools. This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the English learning model at MAS Jeumala Amal which applies a qualitative ethnographic method. The data obtained were observation, interviews, field notes and document analysis. The Study revealed that the form of English language learning is designed through a careful planning which integrates two proficiencies, namely functional and communication skills; the former are taught through classroom activities while the latter are trained more in pesantren programs. The student learning models in MAS Jeumala Amal adheres to a behavioristic pattern which emphasizes habituation in language skills through an army method pattern that restrain students based on reward and punishment pattern.

This research aims to obtain a deep understanding of the realization of polite rejection speech of the Literature Education students at the FKIP UIR. The data sources in this research were all polite rejection speeches expressed by the students. This research used the descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenology approach. The results show that polite rejections are more dominant used with reasons. It shows that giving a reason when rejecting an offer, invitation, command, and appeal would be considered more appropriate and does not hurt the interlocutors. It also shows a scale of unreadiness. Further, the scale of unreadiness may be an alternative that can be applied when performing rejection speeches. This indicates that the rejection speeches expressed by the students are classified as polite.

Setiap manusia pada dasarnya memiliki kebutuhan dan keinginan untuk berkembang yang pencapaian tertingginya adalah aktualisasi diri. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan ciri-ciri aktualisasi diri yang tampak pada tokoh utama novel Balada Si Roy karya Gol A Gong. Sumber data berupa kutipan teks novel Balada Si Roy. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi. Teori yang digunakan adalah psikologi sastra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh utama merupakan pribadi yang teraktualisasi. Hal ini diperkuat oleh temuan data dalam novel berupa empat belas ciri aktualisasi diri yang dikemukakan Abraham Maslow. Penyebab terbentuknya pribadi yang teraktualisasi tersebut, tidak terlepas dari kebulatan tekad tokoh utama untuk memenuhi hasrat terpendamnya, yakni menulis dan traveling. Kedua hal tersebut dijalani tokoh utama dengan keyakinan walaupun harus meninggalkan dua wanita yang dikasihinya di Indonesia: Ibu dan Suci.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam mengenai representasi ketidakadilan yang terdapat di dalam kumpulan puisi Nyanyian Akar Rumput karya Wiji Thukul serta implikasinya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan puisi yang dianalisis mempresentasikan adanya tindak ketidakadilan kreatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1)Representasi ketidakadilan kreatif ditemukan pada puisi berjudul “Peringatan” yang mengungkapkan tentang ketidakbebasan rakyat dalam menyuarakan kritik untuk memperjuangkan hak-haknya sebagai warga negara; (2) Implikasi representasi ketidakadilan pada puisi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia dapat dimanfaatkan oleh guru dan siswa sebagai bahan pembelajaran sastra.

Novel Gornathoh karya Radwa Ashour memaparkan tentang konflik antar penguasa yang menjajah negeri Granada dan otoritas Castile memerintahkan untuk memeluk agama Katolik dan meninggalkan bahasa Arab yang digantikan menggunakan bahasa Castile, yang diulas menggunakan kajian psikologi sastra. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah representasi tingkah laku kepribadian diri nyata dan diri ideal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan content analysis. Uji validasi data menggunakan triangulasi data, teori, dan metode. Hasil penelitian ini tokoh Salemah ditemukan kepribadian diri nyata sebanyak 3 temuan, kepribadian diri ideal sebanyak 9 temuan. Kepribadian yang mendominasi tokoh Salemah adalah diri ideal. Tokoh Hasan ditemukan kepribadian diri nyata sebanyak 8 temuan, kepribadian diri ideal sebanyak 7 temuan. Kepribadian tokoh Hasan adalah kepribadian yang seimbang antara diri nyata dengan diri ideal. Tokoh Saad ditemukan kepribadian diri nyata sebanyak 16 temuan, kepribadian diri ideal sebanyak 6 temuan. Kepribadian tokoh Saad adalah kepribadian diri nyata. Tokoh Naem ditemukan kepribadian diri nyata sebanyak 8 temuan, kepribadian diri ideal sebanyak 13 temuan. Kepribadian tokoh Naem adalah kepribadian yang mendominasi diri ideal. AbstractThis research points to gain the comprehensive of socialism ideology in novel O by Eka Kurniawan investigated by genetical structuralism. A novel is an interesting literary work contains kinds of topics inside, but there is stil a line or certain contents on it. A social genre novel brings social stories in this research. This research inspects how socialism ideology described in this novel by genetics structuralism. The focus goaled to find out how does socialism ideology describe the existence of humanism fact in novel O based on genetics structuralism. Analytic method used in this research, it observes attentively technic and notes after the writer read and studied the novel many times to gain a better comprehensive. Research result shows that there is socialism ideology based on humanity fact described in novel O written by Eka Kurniawan has seen on a police character that is social classes cover ; lower social class taken by a monkey, a description of lower society beside police as a middle class.Keywords: Socialism Ideology, Novel O, Genetics Structuralism
