Abstract

The development of cognitive conflict-based learning models can improve understanding of physics concepts and remediate students' misconceptions. Teaching materials are usually arranged in a complete and systematic manner based on the learning principles used by teachers and students in the learning process. Teaching materials are very systematic because they are arranged sequentially making it easier for students to use them. This study aims to determine the need for cognitive conflict teaching materials that are integrated with Augmented Reality (AR) so as to increase high school students' conceptual understanding of alternative energy materials. This type of research is preliminary research. The instrument used was a questionnaire to analyze the needs of learning devices and the implementation of physics learning as well as analysis of journals to analyze students' conceptual understanding of alternative energy materials. This test was administered to 122 students from two different schools, and to 2 physics teachers at different schools. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the study state that learning in schools is still focused on teachers and teaching materials have not been integrated with Augmented Reality (AR). The results of the analysis of students' conceptual understanding journals on alternative energy material are still low and misconceptions occur. Therefore, from the results of preliminary research it is necessary to develop cognitive conflict-based physics teaching materials that are integrated with augmented reality technology according to the demands of 21st century learning.P

Abstract

The development of the 21st century is marked by the increasing quality of human resources, especially in the field of science and technology. Conceptual understanding is very important to be improved in the 21st century, this is supported by the goal of an independent curriculum, namely students are able to deepen concepts and strengthen competence. In the independent curriculum, the available teaching materials are still limited, one alternative solution is to develop teaching materials based on cognitive conflict models integrated with Augmented Reality technology on global warming material in order to increase students' conceptual understanding and remediate student misconceptions. This type of research is preliminary research. The instrument used was a questionnaire which was given to 3 teachers at Padang City High School to analyze the implementation of physics learning at school. Then the questionnaire instrument was also given to 130 class X students in two different high schools in Padang City, the aim was to analyze the needs of physics learning devices at school. In addition to the questionnaire, journal analysis was also carried out to analyze high school students' conceptual understanding of global warming material. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Students' conceptual understanding is still low and there are misconceptions about global warming material, which is the result of an analysis of several published journals. In addition, learning in schools is still teacher-centered, teaching materials are still limited, and technology-integrated learning media is also limited. Therefore, from the results of preliminary research it is necessary to develop cognitive conflict-based physics teaching materials that are integrated with augmented reality technology.

Abstract

The low level of science literacy in sound and light waves is a problem in education, especially in physics learning. The low science literacy is caused by students' low understanding of concepts. Assessment instruments that specifically assess students' science literacy skills on the concept of sound and light waves are not widely available. This study aims to develop a valid four-level multiple choice e-assessment to assess students' science literacy skills on the concept of sound and light waves. This research is a development/design (R&D) research using the Plomp model. The developed e-assessment was validated by five experts. The data collection instruments used were interview sheets, self-evaluation sheets, and validation sheets. The results of the validity analysis showed that the e-assessment was in the valid category in terms of construction feasibility aspects, content feasibility aspects, display feasibility aspects, and language feasibility aspects. From the validity results with an average value of 0.94, it shows that the four-level multiple choice assessment to assess science literacy skills is declared valid and suitable for use.

Abstract

21st century learning demands student centered learning and requires integration of technology in learning including augmented reality (AR) technology. This study aims to determine the needs of teachers and students for cognitive conflict-based teaching materials that are integrated with augmented reality (AR) so as to increase student understanding and reduce misconceptions that occur in light wave material. This type of research is preliminary research. The instrument used was a questionnaire regarding the needs of learning devices and the implementation of physics learning as well as journal analysis of students' conceptual understanding of the material of light waves. This test was conducted at several schools in the city of Padang with a total of 130 students and 3 teachers. The results of the study stated that learning was still centered on the teacher and there was no learning model to overcome misconceptions and there was no teaching material integrated with augmented reality (AR). The results of the journal analysis concluded that students' understanding of the concept of light waves was still low. Therefore, it is necessary to develop cognitive conflict-based teaching materials integrated with augmented reality (AR) on light waves in accordance with 21st century learning.

Abstract

The problem of low critical thinking skills in physics learning and the unavailability of assessments that assess students' critical thinking skills, especially in momentum and impulse material. The use of technology that has not been maximized in learning. One solution to some of these problems is to develop electronic assessments to assess students' critical thinking skills on momentum and impulse materials. This study aims to analyze the practicality of electronic assessment products to assess critical thinking skills on momentum and impulse materials. This research uses the Plomp model. This research reports the development stage in the Plomp model, namely at the one to one and small group practicality test stages. This research instrument is in the form of a practicality questionnaire which is analyzed by percentage technique. The results of the practicality test of the electronic assessment product obtained an average percentage of 89.48 with very practical criteria. Electronic assessment to assess students' critical thinking skills on momentum and impulse material is declared practical for students from the aspects of convenience, attractiveness, efficiency and benefits so that it is feasible to use.

Abstract

In order to encourage students' creative thinking regarding static fluid material, this study aims to assess the need for physics e-modules based on the Dual Space Inquiry framework. This research employs a development (R&D) methodology using the Dick and Carey instructional design model. Descriptive quantitative data analysis was used in the study. The results showed that students’ creative thinking abilities were still categorized as low, with an average percentage of 24.22%. Observations revealed that the learning approach used had not effectively encouraged students’ creative thinking, and that teachers were still relying on print-based instructional resources. Furthermore, based on a questionnaire completed by students, static fluid was identified as a topic that is difficult for them to understand. In light of these issues, there is a need for teaching materials that are both technology-based and capable of stimulating students' creative thinking skills. Therefore, the researchers propose a physics e-module based on the Dual Space Inquiry framework as a solution to enhance students’ creative thinking in learning static fluid material.

Abstract

In the current era of the 21st century, rapid technological progress and the increasing complexity of life demand students to develop critical thinking, creativity, and independent problem-solving skills. Preliminary findings at SMA Negeri 1 Bonjol revealed that students still exhibit low proficiency in solving physics problems. As a solution, this study developed an Electronic Student Worksheet (LKPD) using a STEM-integrated PBL model focused on the topic of heat, aimed at enhancing students' problem-solving abilities. Employing a development and design research approach based on the Plomp model, this study aimed to design and assess the validity and practicality of the LKPD product. The results indicate that the LKPD can be effectively integrated into STEM learning, is suitable for classroom implementation, and achieved a validity score of 0.95, categorized as very valid. Practicality testing also yielded very high results, with scores of 86.41% in the one-on-one stage and 87.79% in the small group stage. Thus, the STEM-integrated PBL-based Electronic LKPD on heat material has been proven to be both valid and practical in improving students' problem-solving skills.
