Abstract

This study aims to analyze the economic thought of Ibn Khaldun and its relevance to the modern economic system. Employing a qualitative approach through library research and document analysis, the study examines key concepts in Al-Muqaddimah, such as the economic cycle theory, market mechanisms, the role of the state, and distributive justice advocated by Ibn Khaldun. The findings reveal that Ibn Khaldun’s economic thought holds significant relevance in addressing modern economic challenges, particularly social inequality, wealth redistribution, and market regulation. Empirical studies on the implementation of zakat systems in Malaysia and modern economic theories like Keynesianism and institutional economics support these findings. Therefore, integrating Ibn Khaldun’s classical economic values into contemporary economic policies can enhance the stability, justice, and sustainability of the global economic system. This research contributes to enriching Islamic economic literature and offers practical solutions for inclusive and equitable economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of Islamic economics during the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW by examining aspects of biography, prophetic leadership, and the main principles of economics applied in the Medina community. Using a qualitative study method based on literature analysis from 30 recent scientific journals, the results of the study show that the Prophet Muhammad was not only a bearer of religious messages, but also a visionary leader who implemented an economic system that was just, based on ethics, and focused on the welfare of the people. Values such as justice in distribution, prohibition of usury practices, protection of property rights, the formation of a healthy market, and management of zakat and baitul maal became the main pillars of the Islamic economic order at that time. This study also evaluates the short-term and long-term impacts of the implementation of this economic thought on the lives of Muslims and on the development of Islamic economic theory in subsequent periods.

Abstract

This study discusses contemporary Islamic economic thought with a focus on the contributions of Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr, Ibrahim Umar Vadillo, and M. Umer Chapra. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method through a library study of various literature and documents related to Islamic economics. The results of the study indicate that al-Sadr emphasizes social justice and the role of the state in the distribution of wealth, Vadillo offers a dinar and dirham-based monetary system for economic stability, and Chapra emphasizes social welfare through zakat, prohibition of usury, and strengthening of Islamic financial institutions. All three agree that Islamic economics must integrate moral values, ethics, and sharia principles in resource management and wealth distribution. Thus, contemporary Islamic economics offers practical and relevant solutions to the challenges of the modern economy by emphasizing aspects of justice, welfare, and sustainability.

Abstract

Abstract

Environmentally friendly synthesis of barium titanate (BaTiO3) nanoparticles was conducted using natural leaf extracts of Moringa oleifera, Musa spp., Pometia pinnata, and Terminalia catappa as green dopants via the sol-gel method. This study aims to evaluate the influence of different leaf extracts on the optical properties of BaTiO3 characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy. Each sample exhibited distinct absorption spectra, reflecting variations in phytochemical composition among the extracts. The results showed that Terminalia catappa and Pometia pinnata extracts produced the highest band gap values, 3.36 eV and 3.35 eV respectively, indicating optical activity in the ultraviolet region. Musa spp. extract resulted in a band gap of 2.81 eV, while Moringa oleifera extract yielded the lowest value of 2.59 eV. These differences suggest that the type of plant extract significantly affects the optical characteristics of the synthesized BaTiO3. This research highlights the potential use of local biomass in the development of functional BaTiO3-based materials through green synthesis approaches.

Abstract

In order to encourage students' creative thinking regarding static fluid material, this study aims to assess the need for physics e-modules based on the Dual Space Inquiry framework. This research employs a development (R&D) methodology using the Dick and Carey instructional design model. Descriptive quantitative data analysis was used in the study. The results showed that students’ creative thinking abilities were still categorized as low, with an average percentage of 24.22%. Observations revealed that the learning approach used had not effectively encouraged students’ creative thinking, and that teachers were still relying on print-based instructional resources. Furthermore, based on a questionnaire completed by students, static fluid was identified as a topic that is difficult for them to understand. In light of these issues, there is a need for teaching materials that are both technology-based and capable of stimulating students' creative thinking skills. Therefore, the researchers propose a physics e-module based on the Dual Space Inquiry framework as a solution to enhance students’ creative thinking in learning static fluid material.

Abstract

Microfinance institutions (MFIs) play an important role in community economic empowerment, especially for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and low-income groups that are not covered by formal financial institutions. This study uses the literature review method to analyse the strategic role of MFIs in supporting community economic improvement from the perspective of the actors and clients. The results of the study show that MFIs not only provide financial services, but also act as initiators, facilitators, and assistants in the empowerment process. MFIs support business development through the provision of capital, financial education, and management training, which helps MSMEs improve business quality and competitiveness in the market. In addition, MFIs contribute to creating financial inclusion in remote areas and support the empowerment of women in entrepreneurship. The multiplier effect of optimising the role of MFIs includes increasing community income, reducing poverty, creating new jobs, and strengthening the national economy in a sustainable manner. Therefore, institutional strengthening, human resource capacity building, and synergy between the government and MFIs are needed to support more equitable and sustainable community economic empowerment.
