Abstract

The increase accessibility of online resources in day-to-day communication in the digital era offers ample opportunities for informal language learning to enhance learners’ communicative competence. Addressing the issue, this sequential explanatory study sheds some light on the empirical relationship between informal digital learning of English (IDLE) activities and the development of learners’ communicative competence. Moreover, the types of IDLE activities are further depicted. A web-based survey and semi-structured interviews were employed to elicit the required data from 279 Indonesian undergraduate learners majoring in English education and linguistic studies. Drawing on a multiple linear regression analysis, the results depicted that both receptive IDLE activity (e.g. listening to English music online) and productive IDLE activity (e.g. chatting in English with others) contributed to the enhancement of the learners’ communicative competence. The semi-structured interviews further portrayed several types of IDLE activities which have fruitful insights for the learners’ communicative development. This study concerns on the current phenomenon of how language learners are exposed to the present-day technological advancement in a range of informal learning environments, along with some didactic implications for English language teaching.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of green market orientation on the development of IT adoption capability and subsequently green innovation. This research identifies important factors that influence higher business performance in response to environmental pressures. The research examines 216 tourism firms operating in the Greater Jakarta area to provide confirmation on the constructs’ relationships under observation. It is done using structural equation modelling (SEM) to confirm the validity and reliability of the measurement and structural model. The study suggests that green market orientation positively affects the building of IT adoption capability and encourages green innovation. Firms‘ decisions to develop both capabilities are not affected by stakeholders’ environmental pressure. This research also found that IT adoption capability alone could not improve business performance. Green innovation is critical to mediate the two constructs. Suggestions are listed for future research. Keywords: Green Market Orientation; IT Adoption Capability; Green Innovation; Stakeholders’ Environmental Pressure; Business Performance.

Abstract

The Covid-19 outbreak emerged in early 2020, crippling global economic activities, including the tourism sector in Indonesia. The decline in the number of tourists visiting Indonesia had a significant impact on the country's economy. It is a significant responsibility for the government to formulate policies for the post-pandemic development of tourism in Indonesia. One of the policies for the development of the tourism sector is the concept of the "new normal." This policy must be effectively implemented to revive tourism in Indonesia. The method used in writing this article employs a literature review study method. This method involves reviewing research from Google Scholar's database and relevant articles related to the discussed topic, which are then processed using appropriate tools. Based on the results of the literature review study, the implementation of post-pandemic tourism development policies in Indonesia involves three elements: sustenance, self-esteem, and freedom from servitude. These elements are realized when the health protocol requirements in the new normal setting are adhered to. These three elements are significant considerations for the government when deciding whether to reopen or postpone operations in the tourism sector due to their profound social, economic, and environmental impacts. Other government strategies or efforts in implementing tourism development policies in the era of the new normal include promoting local tourism, emphasizing voluntarism and solidarity, and making policies based on sustainable development

Abstract

Amid growing interest in educational technology, there remains a critical gap in understanding how AI-driven assessment is practically implemented in higher education, particularly within faculties of education. This study explores current practices, challenges, and potentials of AI-based assessment tools at the university level. Employing a qualitative exploratory design, data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and institutional document analysis involving 20 faculty members and educational policymakers from various universities in Surakarta municipality, Indonesia. The study investigated how AI tools are applied in formative and summative assessments, including automated feedback, grading, and student performance monitoring. Findings reveal that while AI is appreciated for its efficiency and potential for personalization, significant concerns persist regarding its ability to assess higher-order thinking and complex student outputs. Key challenges include limited infrastructure, insufficient training, and ethical dilemmas such as data privacy and algorithmic bias. Nonetheless, participants acknowledged the transformative potential of AI for real-time, adaptive assessment tailored to individual learner needs. The study highlights the need for thoughtful, context-sensitive integration strategies, emphasizing the role of institutional policy, educator training, and ethical governance. These insights have important implications for developing sustainable, value-driven frameworks for AI assessment in teacher education.

Abstract

This study explores the critical role of supply chain resilience (SCR) in improving operational efficiency among manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In today’s volatile business environment, disruptions such as global pandemics, geopolitical tensions, and raw material shortages have underscored the need for resilient supply chains. Drawing on empirical data collected from manufacturing SMEs, this research identifies key dimensions of SCR namely flexibility, responsiveness, and risk management and examines their impact on cost efficiency, production continuity, and delivery performance. The findings indicate that firms with higher supply chain resilience are better equipped to sustain operations during disruptions, adapt to market changes, and maintain competitiveness. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on supply chain management by highlighting the strategic importance of resilience as a driver of operational excellence in SMEs. Recommendations are provided for SME managers to strengthen their supply chain structures and build capabilities that ensure long-term efficiency and sustainability.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the administration and management strategies implemented by MSMEs in Pandeglang Regency in facing competition in the local market. The approach used is qualitative with a case study design, where data is collected through interviews, participant observation and documentation. Research findings show that many MSMEs in Pandeglang face challenges in administrative management, such as dependence on manual systems and lack of technological literacy. Human resource (HR) management is also limited to basic skills without further training. Apart from that, although several MSME players have used social media for marketing, the use of technology for operational management is still minimal. Recommendations from this research include the need for continuous training, mentoring, and access to technology that can increase the efficiency and competitiveness of MSMEs. This research provides important insights for developing policies that support MSMEs at the local level, especially in facing increasingly competitive market dynamics.
