Abstract

High temperature is the major constraint to potato cultivation in the lowland for it causes stress and inhibit initiation of potato tuber. This study was designed to investigate the effects of root zone cooling upon seed potato production using aeroponics system in lowland wet tropical climates. Cultivation techniques used in this study was the aeroponics system with three cooling temperatures (10, 15, and 20 oC) and control (greenhouse room temperature). Plantlet of potato ‘Granola’ variety derived from tissue culture propagation were used. The results showed that the highest number of tuber and tuber weight that can be harvested up to 90 days after planting were obtained from cooling the root zone temperature at 10 °C with the average number of tuber 14.85 tubers plant-1and average weight of tubers 409.15 mg tuber-1. Plants grown at root zone cooling at 15 and 20 °C treatments produced lower number of tubers and lower tuber weight than at 10 oC, while plants grown at greenhouse temperature did not produce tubers. Keywords: cultivation techniques, Granola, high temperature, lowland tropical, potato tuber

Abstract

Digital transformation in Indonesia toll road sector faces significant challenges related to information fragmentation among Toll Road Operators (BUJT), hindering the optimization of electronic service quality (E-Service Quality). This research aims to enhance E-Service Quality through the Soft Systems Methodology (SSM), integrated with Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) analysis to understand key service dimensions. The findings indicate that integrating information across BUJTs, with a focus on informativeness, is critical to improving user satisfaction. The SSM-based conceptual model developed provides systemic solutions through policy integration, collaboration among BUJTs, and the development of an integrated information system. The assessment reveals that the proposed changes support toll road digital transformation and are culturally feasible. This study offers a strategic framework for improving toll road service quality, strengthening stakeholder collaboration, and creating a better user experience.

Abstract

Manual morphometric measurement of livestock is time-consuming, stressful to animals, and poses safety risks to handlers. This study presents a computer vision-based system for automatically measuring three key morphometric parameters of Bali cattle—withers height (WH), body length (BL), and chest girth (CG)—in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). Images were captured from side and rear perspectives and processed using threshold-based image segmentation in the HSV color space to isolate the cattle contour. Pixel-to-centimeter calibration was performed using a fixed reference marker placed at a known distance of 1.5–2.0 m from the camera. The extracted morphometric values were subsequently fed into a Fuzzy Inference System with Certainty Factor (FIS-CF) for cattle grading and classification. Threshold values ranging from 0.5 to 0.9 were evaluated against manual ground-truth measurements using MAE, RMSE, MAPE, and R². The optimal threshold of 0.9 achieved MAPE values of 9.85% (WH), 6.04% (BL), and 11.49% (CG), representing up to 52% improvement over the lowest threshold. Although R² values remain negative due to limited sample size and non-linear pixel-to-metric variance, a consistent upward trend toward zero confirms measurement improvement with higher thresholds. The proposed method offers a practical, non-invasive alternative to manual measurement, with potential application in precision livestock farming and automated cattle grading systems.
