Abstract

Bonjeruk Tourism Village is a tourist village that has popular culinary tourism in Lombok, specifically in Lesehan Ayam Merangkat, Bonjeruk Bamboo Market Tourism Village, and Central Lombok Regency, which is a place to sell various Lombok culinary specialties, and one of them is Ayam Merangkat, which is a superior product of Bonjeruk Tourism Village.The data collection technique in this study uses a questionnaire, and then the sample determination technique uses acendental sampling, which is the determination of respondents based on who was in the field at the time of the research. In this study, the sample in question is tourists who have visited Lesehan Ayam Merangkat Bamboo Market, Bonjeruk Tourism Village, at least twice. The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative descriptive, followed by hypothesis testing using smart PLS software. The result of this study is to conclude that, based on the t-test, the t-statistical value used as a measure of the significance of the influence each variable must be higher than 1.96. Based on this, the results obtained in this study are that the quality of culinary tourism products (X1) has a significant effect on satisfaction (Y1), service quality (X2) has a significant effect on satisfaction (Y1), the quality of culinary tourism products (X1) does not have a significant influence on loyalty (Y2), service quality (X1) does not have a significant influence on loyalty (Y2), and satisfaction (Y1) has a significant influence on loyalty (Y2).

Abstract

Tourism is a key sector in Indonesia’s economy, contributing up to USD 20 billion annually. With its diverse natural landscapes and cultural heritage, Indonesia has prioritized five key tourism destinations, including North Sulawesi. Malalayang Beachwalk, which opened in October 2022, features impressive views and attractions but has faced complaints about its facilities and services, such as unwelcoming vendor behavior and high parking fees, which have impacted tourist satisfaction. This study aims to examine how the destination image and service quality affect tourist satisfaction and loyalty at Malalayang Beachwalk. Utilizing a quantitative explanatory approach and SmartPLS 3.0 for analysis, the research surveyed 100 domestic tourists who visited between October 2022 and May 2024. The findings demonstrate that both the destination image and service quality significantly and positively influence tourist satisfaction and loyalty. Additionally, tourist satisfaction has a notable impact on loyalty. These results suggest that improving both the destination image and service quality at Malalayang Beachwalk can boost tourist satisfaction and loyalty, leading to more repeat visits. The study provides valuable insights for management to address current issues and better meet tourist expectations, thereby supporting the successful growth of the tourism destination.

Abstract

Arts management training at the Citra Kara aims to increase the practical benefits of crafts activities. Dominant kriyawan are skilled at leather crafts. However, quite a few kriyawan from the Cita Kara admit that their craft works could be more helpful. The problems : 1) What is the form of arts management training?; 2) How does arts management training impact?. The training uses R&D methods. The results : 1) training in selecting commodity materials, training in the production of commodities, technical assistance in the production of commodities, technical assistance in the coloring of commodities, training in the marketing of commodities, training in digital marketing and assistance in the digitalization of marketing of commodities; 2) there is an increase in artists' skills in producing new types of craft art commodities & there is an increase in artists' interest in marketing leather inlaid art commodities in new ways.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension, a non-communicable disease, is defined by a systolic pressure of ≥ 140 mmHg and/or a diastolic pressure of ≥ 90 mmHg. Factors contributing to hypertension include alcohol consumption and diets high in salt and saturated fats. This study aims to explore the relationship between community cultural practices and the occurrence of hypertension. Methods: This study employed a quantitative correlational approach with a cross-sectional design. A probability sampling technique, specifically stratified random sampling, was used to select 90 participants who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rank correlation test. Results: The findings revealed that most respondents' cultural practices were categorized as poor (29 participants, 32.2%), followed by normal (17 participants, 18.9%), good (16 participants, 17.8%), very poor (15 participants, 16.7%), and very good (13 participants, 14.4%). Regarding hypertension severity, the majority of respondents experienced grade 1 hypertension (61 participants, 67.8%), while 29 participants (32.2%) had grade 2 hypertension. The study identified a significant relationship between community culture and hypertension incidence, with a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: This study underscores the importance of increasing public awareness and educating hypertension patients about cultural practices that elevate the risk of hypertension, such as consuming alcohol and diets rich in salt and saturated fats.

Abstract

The architecture of Puri Agung Karangasem shows important achievements in architectural progress and the trajectory of the meaning of ornaments shows the acculturation of Balinese, Chinese, and European cultures. Researchers have not found research on the milestones and meaning of ornaments in the Puri. The purpose of this research is to explain the important historical achievements and the meaning of architectural ornaments of Puri Agung Karangasem. A qualitative descriptive method is implemented to explain the milestones and meaning of architectural ornaments of Puri Agung Karangasem. Hermeneutic theory is used as an approach to uncover the historicity and interpretation of the meaning of the architectural ornaments of the Puri. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation, while as a source of data are ornaments on palace architecture, cultural experts, community leaders, and as key informants of Penglingsir Puri and Abdi Dalem Puri. The results of the study show that the architecture of Puri Agung Karangasem has a very important meaning and achievement in the history of Bali, especially in the context of the kingdom. The forms of ornaments found in Puri Agung Karangasem can be distinguished into three, namely ornaments in traditional Balise, Chinese and European styles, resulting in a combination of typical ornamental forms of Puri Agung Karangasem. From a hermeneutic perspective, these ornaments are signs that refer to certain aspects of social, religious, and political life in Bali, especially the kingdom of Karangasem. In addition, the ruler of Puri Agung Karangasem in ancient times had a fairly good cultural relationship with people from China and Europe, as reflected in the visualization of ornaments integrated into the architecture of the Puri.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases experienced by many elderly people. This study intends to assess the impact of Gayatri Mantra meditation on lowering blood pressure in elderly hypertension in Banjar Abiantimbul, Pemecutan Kelod Village, Denpasar, Indonesia. Methods: This study used a pretest and posttest research design. The samples consisted of 20 participants in the intervention group and 20 in the control group. The meditation intervention was carried out for 3 weeks, with a frequency of two sessions a week, each lasting 15 minutes. Results: Before the intervention, 55% of participants in the intervention group had Stage 2 hypertension, while 60% in the control group had Stage 1 hypertension. After the intervention, 70% of the intervention group experienced a reduction in blood pressure to Stage 1, whereas the control group exhibited no significant change. A paired sample t test showed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a statistically significant effect. Conclusions: The study concludes that Gayatri Mantra meditation significantly reduces blood pressure in elderly individuals with hypertension in Banjar Abiantimbul, Pemecutan Kelod Village, Denpasar, Indonesia. These results suggest that meditation-based interventions could be integrated into hypertension management programs for elderly populations.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure is higher than normal values of ≥140/≥90 mmHg. Effective blood pressure control is the main goal to prevent and treat hypertension. In addition to pharmacological approaches, blood pressure can be controlled with non-pharmacological approaches such as acupressure therapy. This study aims to determine the effect of acupressure therapy at the SP6 and LI4 points on reducing blood pressure in elderly individuals with hypertension. Methods: This study was designed with a quasy-experiment with the type of research pre and post-test with control group with purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney test. The population amounted to 81 elderly people with hypertension with the number of samples used in this study as many as 46 elderly samples with hypertension (23 in intervention group and 23 in control group). The majority of respondents were aged 65-69 years, female, worked as traders, and had elementary school education and did not go to school. Blood pressure was measured using a sphygmomanometer. Acupressure on SP6 and LI4 points was given to the intervention group for 3 weeks with a frequency of 2 times in 1 week, while the control group was given conventional treatment. Results: The results of the post-test difference in blood pressure between the intervention group and the control group with the Mann Whitney U-Test test showed a p-value = 0.000 (p <0.05), it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the intervention group and the control group. Conclusions: The study concludes that there is an effect of acupressure therapy at point SP 6 and LI 4 on lowering blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. It is hoped that the results of the study can be used as an alternative therapy in lowering blood pressure.

Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus in the elderly can cause increased blood sugar levels that risk damaging various body systems. One natural alternative to help lower blood sugar levels is to utilize bay leaves, which are known to have active ingredients that have the potential to be antidiabetic. This study aims to determine the effect of boiled bay leaves on blood sugar levels in elderly people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: The study used a pre-experimental design with a one group pre and post test design approach. The study population was elderly people with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Abang II Health Center, Karangasem, Bali Province, Indonesia with a sample size of 49 people selected using the proportional stratified random sampling technique. Respondents were given an intervention in the form of consuming 220 ml of boiled bay leaf water every morning before eating for seven consecutive days. The bay leaves used were old leaves weighing 2 grams. Blood sugar levels were measured using the Easy Touch tool, with established standard procedures. Results: The results showed that before the intervention, all respondents had random blood sugar levels >200 mg/dL. After the intervention, 93.9% of respondents experienced a decrease in blood sugar levels to <200 mg/dL. The paired t-test statistical test showed a p value = 0.001 (p <0.05), which means there was a statistically significant decrease in blood sugar levels. Conclusions: The conclusion of this study is that boiled bay leaf water is effective in lowering blood sugar levels in elderly people with type 2 diabetes. It is recommended to use it as a safe and natural additional therapy, while continuing to consult a doctor for further monitoring.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease of joint cartilage that causes pain. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of red ginger oil massage on the pain scale in patients with osteoarthritis. This research used pre-experimental research with one-group pre-posttest with purposive sampling technique with 35 populations. There were 33 samples were given massage treatment using 5-10cc of red ginger essential oil 2x a week for 2 weeks for 20 minutes. The results of this research show that the majority of respondents are 66-70 years old (54,5%), the majority are female (55,5%), the respondent's education is high school (60,6%), the respondent's occupation is trader (24,2%), and the majority of respondents suffered from osteoarthritis for one year (30,3%). The patient's pain scale before the red ginger oil massage was carried out was in the moderate pain category (72,7%) with an average pain scale of 4,12 and after the red ginger oil massage was carried out it was in the mild pain category (100%) with an average pain scale of 2,18. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test, a p value of 0,000 (α=0,05) was obtained, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of red ginger oil massage on the pain scale in patients with osteoarthritis and a decrease in the pain scale of 1,94. Massage in synergy with the red ginger oil content applied to the skin will reach the blood circulation which can inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, so that pain subsides or inflammation is reduced. It is hoped that the results of this research can be used as an alternative measure in treating complaints of joint pain in osteoarthritis patients.

Abstract

Anemia and stunting are significant public health problems in Indonesia, especially among adolescents. The Yowana Bali Cadre Program (KAYOBI) aims to increase adolescents' knowledge and awareness about the prevention of anemia and stunting. This study uses a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected from 31 respondents, using purposive sampling techniques. Knowledge assessment was conducted through questionnaires, and data analysis was conducted by Chi-square test  to determine the relationship between  KAYOBI website access and respondents' knowledge level. The findings showed that 74,2% of the participants were women, and 64,5% of them accessed  the KAYOBI website. The results of the respondents' knowledge assessment before accessing the KAYOBI website showed that 23,1% of respondents had adequate knowledge about anemia and stunting. Chi-square analysis  showed a significant relationship between website access  and knowledge level, where individuals who did not access websites were 20 times more likely to engage in poor prevention practices.  KAYOBI's website is rated good in terms of usability, quality of information, and interaction. This research emphasizes the importance of continuing education initiatives and community involvement in combating anemia and stunting, as well as the need for more effective health promotion among adolescents. The KAYOBI program is effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge about anaemia and stunting prevention, and access to information through the website contributes to better prevention practices.
