Abstract

Abstract. This research is a descriptive study which aims to study the morphological characteristics of Sansevieria plants in Makassar City. This research was conducted from February to March 2018. The location of the study was conducted in several areas in Makassar city which Sansevieria met. Data collection was done by observing the morphological characteristics of Sansevieria plants. The results of the study obtained as many as 25 species of Sansevieria. Sansevieria plants in the city of Makassar are dominated by species with dark green to gray green, only a few are pale green or have a combination of yellow, have a shape or build a variety of leaves such as wake oval (ovalis), elongated (oblongus), lancet (lanceolatus ), to subulate or terete (subulatus). Keywords: Sansevieria, Characteristics, Morphology, Makassar City.

Abstract

Abstract. Balocci Resort Banntimurung Bulusaraung National Park is a location that is overgrown with many natural orchids. This research is a descriptive study that aims to determine the type of epiphytic orchid host tree and the distribution of host trees at the Balocci Resort in Bantimurung Bulusearaung National Park. The method used is a survey method. The stages of the research are termining location and observations, collecting data and indetifying spesies. Based on the result; Alstonia  scholaris, Sauarauia malayana, Mangifera sp, Tabernaemontana sphaerocarpa, Arenga pinnata, Syzygium sp, Elaecarpus angustifolius, Bischofia javanica, Maesea sp, Erythrina subumbrans, Lithocarpus celebicus, Cryptocarya sp, Elmerillia ovalis, Memecylon paniculatum, Ficus benjamina L, Ficus variegate, Ficus fistulosa, Knema laurina, Litsea sp, Uncaria longiflora, Coffea sp, Melicope sp, Planchonella firma, Palaquium lobbianum, and Laportea stimulant which belongs to 19 families. The tree that is overgrows with orchids is Alstonia  scholaris, Sauarauia malayana and Ficus benjamina L. the host tree which is used as a place for growth has uneven surface characteristics of the tree, overgrown with nails and generally mossy. Host tree species that have a wide spread on mount Bulusaraung is Sauarauia malayana which is at an altitude of 700-1300 m above sea level. Abstract

Activity a protease enzyme hardly related to ability of mould elaborates protein component found on substrate that is casein. Temperature and hydrogen ion exponent is one of environmental factor influencing enzymatic activity. Initial step of determination of maximum hydrogen ion exponent by the way of giving treatment of initial hydrogen ion exponent so that obtainable and determined optimum pH B. bassiana sub-province Maros and sub-province Enrekang by seeing highest enzymatic activity indicator. Based on treatment of determination of optimum pH that is certain hydrogen ion exponent of which can cause highest activity to protease enzyme hence obtained by result that mould isolate B. bassiana sub-province Maros and also sub-province Enrekang both having enzymatic activity with optimum pH at hydrogen ion exponent 7 where enzymatic activity from each mould isolate successively that is 0,301 unit/mL/minutes and 0,682 unit/mL/minutes.   Keywords: protease activity, Beauveria bassiana, isolate

Abstract

Abstract

This research aimed at understanding the content of cadmium in T. sulcata snail which was taken from Bua beach, Luwu. This is a descriptive research where the variable discussed is the cadmium content in snail. Samples were taken from three stations in Luwu. 25 snails were taken from each station. Snail’s meats used as samples were destroyed. Then the cadmium content was analyzed by using SSA at South Sulawesi Agricultural Technology Research Boaicl in Maros. The result of research shower that the highest Cd content was found in Station III with 0,487 mg/Kg, then station II with 0,235 mg/Kg and station I with 0,197 mg/Kg. snail, which can be found at can be prover that T. sulcata around 0,197 ppm – 0,487 ppm cadmium (Cd) content. It is still in normal degree or based on what FAO and WHO recommend that is less than 0,95 mg/Kg   Keywords: snail Terebralia sulcata, cadmium(Cd)

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to: 1) determine the types of plants used as traditional medicine; (2) knowing the parts (organs) of plants used to treat diseases; (3) know how to process medicinal plants; and (4) knowing diseases that can be treated using medicinal plants in Pana District, Mamasa Regency, West Sulawesi. This research is a descriptive research with an exploratory nature. Data was collected through interviews, observation and identification. The results showed that from the 7 informants interviewed, 35 plant species from 22 families were obtained. Parts (organs) of plants that are generally used are one or all parts in the form of tubers, roots, stems, leaves and shoots. The processing of medicinal plants can be used directly, which is eaten without being processed first or processed by pounding, boiling, watering, grating, kneading, soaking, and or burning. Diseases treated are jaundice, typhoid, breast cancer, nerves, fever, ulcers, uterine cancer, brain cancer, kidney, burns, common wounds, gout, vaginal discharge, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, cholesterol, tuberculosis (TB), diabetes, rheumatism, headache, asthma, dengue fever, cough, smallpox, infection, speed up labor, remove spots on the body, neutralize toxins, and lower blood pressure. Keywords: medicinal plants, traditional medicine, pana district, mamasa regency, west sulawesi.
