Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to describe the misconceptions of junior high school students on the material of flat shapes especially geometry of rectangular flat shapes. The subjects of this study were three students who had the most misconceptions from all students in the class. Students' misconceptions in this study were analyzed using a written misconception test with the CRI (Certainty of Response Index) method and continued with interviews to find out the cause of the misconceptions that occurred. Based on the results of data analysis the three subjects showed almost the same misconception. The first misconception experienced by students on rectangular flat figure material lies in the definition of rectangular flat figure. Students' misconceptions in defining lie in a flat shape that has the same side of length, four corners, and two diagonals that form a right angle. This shows that students only choose rectangular regular shapes. In addition, students also experience misconceptions in distinguishing between sides and ribs. The second misconception, lies in the concept of the properties of a rectangular flat shape especially rectangular. Students assume that the rectangle always has an elongated shape without regard to its properties. Furthermore, there is a misconception when showing another wake. Students assume that the ladder is an oblique rectangle. In addition, if a rectangle has a different position or irregular shape then it is not called a rectangle. The cause of the misconception that occurs is the ability to understand the concepts and images given to the problem

Abstract

Number sense can vary from person to person, number sense variations can be caused by learning experiences of mathematics, mathematical abilities, and cognitive styles. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to determine the number sense profile of grade V SD students in terms of the field-dependent and field-independent cognitive styles on fraction material. So the research begins by giving a math ability test, cognitive style test, and number sense test. The subjects of this study were fifth-grade students of SDN Ngagel Rejo V Surabaya with field-dependent and field-independent styles with equivalent math abilities. Data collection was continued with the number sense test, and interviews and checks using time triangulation. The results showed that students with a field-independent cognitive style tended to use logical reasoning and actively processed information and were able to simplify complex problems well. They also have a high of number sense so that they can answer and describe answers based on their analytical skills. For example, when comparing the concept of numbers, they can show that there is another fraction or decimal between two fractions or decimals. Whereas students in the field-dependent cognitive style only compare the values of the two fractions or decimals, which means they have difficulty separating and distinguishing objects. simple of complex objects. They also tend to do conventional learning such as doing multiplication using a pencil and writing on paper and cannot analyze a thing or question with an estimate or approach. Therefore, students' cognitive styles must be learned and aligned with existing teaching strategies in several schools. Teaching adjustments that are in line with students' cognitive styles are needed to improve student performance.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kegiatan pemberdayaan guru matematika SMP dalam mengembangkan tugas numerasi siswa menggunakan konteks pandemi Covid-19 untuk pembelajaran matematika menggunakan google classroom. Penelitian deskriptif ini melibatkan 18 guru matematika SMP di kabupaten Nganjuk sebagai sasaran. Instrumen penelitian berupa tugas pembuatan soal, tugas mengembangan desain pembelajaran dalam google classroom, angket pemahaman guru tentang numerasi dan angket respon guru setelah pemberdayaan guru. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif dari semua data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kegiatan pemberdayaan guru dapat meningkatkan pemahaman guru dalam numerasi, keterampilan dalam membuat tugas numerasi dan melakukan penilaian.

Abstract

This study is categorized as development research. Learning tools developed in this research are Lesson Plans (RPP), Student Worksheets (LKS), and Problem Solving Ability Test (TKPM). The learning tools are developed using a 4-D development model which consists of four stages, namely the define stage, the design stage, the develop stage, and the disseminate stage. Based on the results of descriptive analysis obtained that the learning tools developed good quality because it meets the valid criteria, practical and effective. Learning tools are said to be valid because all validators provide a minimum score of 3 for each aspect of the assessment on a scale of 1 – 4 and problem solving ability test it meets validity, reliability, and sensitive criteria. Learning tools are said to be practical because the ability teacher to manage learning shows both minimal categories and student activities categorized effectively. Learning tools are said to be effective because students 'responses to positive learning tools and learning activities categorized positive, classical completeness are achieved, and problem based learning to increase students' problem solving skills is achieved. Based on the descriptive analysis in the implementation class, it was found problem based learning on social arithmetic material was effective for increase students' problem solving skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran berdasar masalah dengan pendekatan saintifik pada materi segiempat kelas VII SMP yang baik; (2) mendeskripsikan keefektifan pembelajaran berdasar masalah dengan pendekatan saintifik pada materi segiempat kelas VII SMP. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu tahap pengembangan yang mengikuti rancangan model 4-D dilanjutkan dengan tahap eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan berkualitas baik karena memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Perangkat memenuhi kriteria valid berdasarkan hasil penilaian validator yang mendapatkan skor minimal 3 pada setiap aspek serta tes hasil belajar memenuhi kriteria valid, reliabel, dan sensitif. Perangkat memenuhi kriteria praktis berdasarkan aktivitas guru dalam kategori baik dan tingkat keaktifan siswa mencapai 95,6%. Perangkat memenuhi kriteria efektif berdasarkan ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa yang mencapai 83% serta respon positif siswa terhadap perangkat mencapai 92%. Sedangkan pembelajaran menunjukkan capaian efektif didasarkan pada aktivitas guru berkategori baik, tingkat keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran mencapai 96,4%, respon positif siswa terhadap pembelajaran mencapai 93%, dan ketuntasan belajar siswa mencapai 89%.

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to describe mathematical problem-solving and its relation to the process of metacognition. This study focuses on mathematical problem-solving activities which are an important aspect of learning, especially learning mathematics. The analysis and theoretical description of the importance of the process of metacognition in solving mathematical problems are presented with two main thoughts. Namely, exposure to mathematical problem-solving activities that are closely related to one's metacognition processes and how metacognition processes take on their role to improve problem-solving skills in learning mathematics. The method used in this study is a literature study. Data collection is done by examining, reading, and drawing conclusions from various sources. The source used is in the form of articles that have been published at least sinta 4 as many as 20 articles. The conclusion from this article is those mathematical problem-solving activities are activities that require optimizing students' metacognition processes. In this case, mathematical problem-solving activities must enable students to be able to optimize declarative, procedural, and conditional knowledge through planning, monitoring, and evaluating students' cognitive processes. Keywords: the process of metacognition, learning mathematics, solving mathematical problems Abstrak Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemecahan masalah matematika dan keterkaitannya dengan proses metakognisi. Penelitian ini menitikberatkan pada kegiatan pemecahan masalah matematika yang merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam pembelajaran, khususnya pembelajaran matematika. Analisis dan penggambaran teoretis tentang pentingnya proses metakognisi dalam pemecahan masalah matematika disajikan dengan dua pemikiran utama. Yakni, pemaparan mengenai kegiatan pemecahan masalah matematika yang erat kaitannya dengan proses metakognisi seseorang dan bagaimana proses metakognisi mengambil perannya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah dalam pembelajaran matematika. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi literatur. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menelaah, membaca dan menarik kesimpulan dari berbagai sumber. Sumber yang digunakan berupa artikel-artikel yang telah di terbit pada jurnal terakreditasi minimal sinta 4 sebanyak 20 artikel. Kesimpulan dari artikel ini adalah kegiatan pemecahan masalah matematika adalah kegiatan yang memerlukan pengaoptimalisian proses metakognisi peserta didik. Dalam hal ini, kegiatan pemecahan masalah matematika harus memungkinkan peserta didik agar dapat melakukan pengoptimalan terhadap pengetahuan declaratif, prosedural, dan kondisional melalui perencanaan, pemantauan, dan evaluasi proses kognisi peserta didik. Abstract

Studi ini mengkaji bagaimana Sejarah teorema Pythagoras, khususnya dari Cina kuno, dapat berfungsi sebagai sumber inspirasi untuk desain instruksional. Berdasarkan contoh sejarah dan pemecahan masalah dari sejarah matematika di Jiuzhang Shuanshu, dikembangkan serangkaian tugas instruksional untuk siswa sekolah menengah kelas tujuh dan bagaimana perannya dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang teorema Pythagoras. Dalam artikel ini dibahas preliminary investigations and teaching experiments dari tiga fase utama penelitian design-based research. Konsep dasar dari desain yang dikembangkan adalah untuk memperkenalkan manipulasi geometris historis dan memecahkan masalah segitiga siku-siku menurut metode geometris Liu Hui (abad ke-3 M). Tujuan pengajaran manipulasi geometris adalah untuk menggabungkan penalaran aljabar simbolis siswa dengan pemahaman visual mereka tentang Teorema Pythagoras. Dalam penelitian ini, kami membandingkan Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) dengan Actual Learning Trajectory (ALT) untuk mengetahui bagaimana peranan desain yang dikembangkan. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa masalah berbasis sejarah sebagai konteks dalam desain pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk mempelajari teorema Pythagoras secara bermakna.

Abstract

In this Paper introduced a coring from tensor product of bialgebra. An algebra with compatible coalgebrastructure are known as bialgebra. For any bialgebra B we can obtained tensor product between B anditself. Defined a right and left B -action on the tensor product of bialgebra B such that we have tensorproduct of B and itself is a bimodule over B. In this note we expect that the tensor product B anditself becomes a B -coring with comultiplication and counit.Keywords : action, algebra, coalgebra, coring.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy merupakan kemampuan seorang individu dalam mengidentifikasi dan memahai suatu permasalahan yang melibatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan spesifik terkait matematika seperti penalaran, analisis, serta memahami konsep matematika dalam kehidupan nyata. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh mathematical literacy terhadap peningkatan critical thinking. Metode yang digunakan yaitu literature review dengan kata kunci “mathematical literacy dan critical thinking” menggunakan 10 jurnal berbahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris yang terbit di tahun 2019-2023 dari Google Scholar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian literature review dari 10 jurnal terbaru yang sesuai dari Google Scholar dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh mathematical literacy terhadap critical thinking. Mathematical literacy meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis setiap individu dalam menganalisis suatu permasalahan, cara mengambil keputusan, termasuk mempertahankan keyakinan dan kepercayaan berdasarkan atas pemikiran-pemikiran yang logis atau rasional. Selain itu, media-media yang relevan dan implementatif juga perlu dilibatkan dalam mendukung implementasi literasi matematika, seperti halnya bahan ajar, tugas, dan lain sebagainya. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa mathematical literacy berpengaruh terhadap critical thinking

Abstract

This research aimed to describe students' critical thinking processes based on gender in solving group problems. The subjects were a boy and a girl with equal abilities. The instrument was a critical thinking test. Data were analyzed based on FRISCO indicators. The results are on the indicator of: (1) focus, the boy has difficulty in solving problems of power set context while the girl succeeds in any context; (2) reason, both subjects provide relevant reasons; (3) inference, the boy has difficulty in forming conclusions of power set context while the girl succeeds in all conclusions; (4) situation, the boy does not use mathematical concepts that are relevant to the problem of power set context while the girl does of any contexts; (5) clarity, the boy explains the conclusion of integers set context while the girl does in all contexts; (6) overview, the two subjects do not recheck.
