Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the influence of ELCPKS and dolomite interaction on oil palm seedling growth and get the best dose for oil palm seedling growth. This research was conducted at the experimental station of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau on December 2013 until March 2014. This research was arranged on using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factorial: Factor 1 ; dose of ELCPKS, L0 = Without ELCPKS, L1 = 25 g ELCPKS /polybag, L2 = 50 g ELCPKS of  /polybag and L3 = 75 g ELCPKS of /polybag. Factor II ; dolomite D0 = Without dolomite/polybag, D1 = Giving 6 g dolomite /polybag, D2 =12 g dolomite /polybag, D3 = 18 g dolomite /polybag and repeated 3 times, so obtained 48 units experiment. Parameters observed were the increase of plant height, increase of stump diameter, increase of leaves number, root volume, root shoot ratio and dry weight. The result showed that ELCPKS and dolomite interaction affect on; increase of plant height, increase of stump diameter, root crown ratio and plant dry weight, but not significantly on increase of leaves number and root volume. The best results shows on 75 g ELCPKS of /polybag and 18 g dolomite /polybag. ELCPKS treatment on oil palm seedling affect to all parameters, meanwhile the dolomite lime treatment affect to all parameters except on increase of leaves number and root shoot ratio.   Keywords : Oil palm seedling, ELCPKS, dolomite

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the influence on giving auksin plant growth regulator with various concentrations and to obtain the best concentration for the growth of budded rubber stum. This research was conducted at experimental farm of Farming Faculty of Riau University at Bina Widya st Km 12,5, Simpang Baru, Tampan, Pekanbaru. This research was carried out experimentally with Complete Random Design (CRD), the treatments given were the auksin plant growth regulator concentration which consisted of several stages (P0) without giving auksin plant growth regulator, (P1) concentration of 25 mg/0,5 ml water, (P2) concentration of 50 mg/ 0,5 ml water, (P3) concentration of 75 mg/ 0,5 ml water. Every treatment consisted of 5 repetition so that it was obtained 20 experiment units. Every experiment unit consisted of 3 plants and 2 plants were being sample. The observed parameters were that the time of buds emerging, the amount of leaves, the diameter of buds and the wide of buds. The obtained data was analyzed statistically with analysis of varience and continued to Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% degree. The concentration of plant growth regulator 50 mg/0,5 ml water had the best effect for the growth of giving budded rubber stum (Hevea brasiliensis) clone PB 260. Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of litter Trichocompost corn and get the correct dosage on the growth and production at mustard.  This research has been conducted on the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, located at an altitude of 10 meters above sea level. This study was conducted from February - March 2014. This study was performed experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments. Each treatment was repeated 3 times to obtain 18 units of the experiment, one experimental plot contained 16 plants and 3 plants samples taken from each plot. Parameters observed in this study were plant height (cm), number leave (blade), leaf area (cm2), root volume (ml), fresh weight (g) and fresh weight feasible consumption (g). Data obtained from the observations were analyzed statistically, the results of the ANOVA test followed by Ducan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The results showed trichocompost giving corn litter can improve plant growth, especially height, number leave, leaf area, root volume, fresh weight and fresh weight worth of consumption. Abstract

Agarwood plantis a commodity timber forest products that have high value and become a mainstay Indonesian export products. To support the process of cultivation of agarwood plant isrequired the provision of quality seeds and planting medium is supported by the availability of good and nutrient availability thar enough for the growth of seedlings. The research aim is to know the effect of the interaction of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost and NPK fertilizer and to get the best treatment for the growth of agartwood plant seedling. Theresearch was conducted at the experimental gardenAgricultural Faculty, University of Riau, Pekanbaru from May to September 2014. The research carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factors: palm oil empty fruit bunch compost and NPKfertilizer. The first factor is the dose of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost consists of 4 levels, that is: K0 (without palm oil empty fruit bunch compost), K1 (1/3 part of the media), K2 (1/2 part of the media), K3 (2/3 sections of the media). The second factor is the NPK fertilizer application consists of 4 levels: M0 (without NPK fertilizer), M1 (1 g/plant), M2 (2g/plant), M3 (3 g/plant). The results showed that the giving of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost and NPK fertilizer to agarwoor seedling gavethe best effect on fertilizer application of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost2/3 of the media with NPK 2 g/plants against accretion parameters plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, stems and broad dry weight .   Keyword: Agarwood seedling, palm oil empty fruit bunch compost, NPK fertilizer

Abstract

One effort to improve chemical properties of Dystrudepts is to use an organic mulch Mucuna bracteata (MB). The study aims to determine the effect of application of organic mulch MB on soil chemical properties and plant root growth of oil palm. The research was conducted in experimental station and the soil laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Pekanbaru. The research was conducted in September 2014 – February 2015. The research was non factorial experiment that arrangge by Randomized Complete Design (RAL) with treatment control, M1 (15 kg of organic mulch/plant), M2 (30 kg organic mulch/plant), and M3 (45 kg organic mulch/plant). The results showed that application of an organic mulch MB with more increasing dose resulted more increasing of pH value, C-organic, N-total, KTK, KB and root growth.   Keywords: organic mulch, Dystrudepts, Mucuna bracteata

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of applications of supplemental liquid organic fertilizer and get the best concentration on the growth and yield of mustard (Brassica juncea L.) This research was conducted at the experimental station faculty of agriculture, University of Riau in january to februari 2014. Completely randomized design with 4 treatment and 5 replication use in this experiment. The treatment consisted application of supplemental liquid organic fertilizer with concentration is :P0 : without application of supplemental liquid organic fertilizer, P1 : supplemental liquid organic fertilizer concentration 1 cc/l of water, P2 : supplemental liquid organic fertilizer concentration 2 cc/l of water and P3 : supplemental liquid organic fertilizer concentration 3 cc/l of water. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and mean separation with Duncan Multiple Range Test at the 5% level. The parameters measured were the plant height, leaf number, leaf area, plant fresh weight and weight of crop suitable for consumption. The results showed that application of supplemental liquid organic fertilizer significantly affected to parameters of plant height, leaf number, leaf area, plant fresh weight and weight of crop suitable for consumption. Application of supplemental liquid organic fertilizer at concentrations 3 cc /l of water is the best concentration for all parameters tested. Abstract

The research was carried out at the experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau starting from January to April 2014 with aim to determine the effect of compost type on the growth of rubber seedlings mini stump and to determine the type of compost that gives the best effect for mini stump rubber seedlings. This research was carried out using a Randomized Design Completely (RDC), which consist of 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments in this research are: K1: without treatment, K2: TKKS compost 100 g/polybag(20 tonnes/ha), K3: Rice straw compost 100 g/polybag(20 tonnes/ha), K4: Water Hyacinth Compost 100 g/polybag(20 tonnes/ha), K5: Compost BJKS 100 g/polybag(20 tonnes/ha), K6: Compost Legume Cover Crop (LCC) 100 g/polybag(20 tonnes/ha). Data were analyzed statistically using Duncan's test New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. Parameters measured are high accretion of shoot (cm), number of leaves (blade), increased diameter of shoot (cm), crown root ratio (g). The result of research shown, water hyacinth and BJKS compost types (100 g/polybag) effected on high increase of shoots and crown roots ratio. From some treatments, BJKS compost shown the best results are on increased number of leaves, increased diameter of shoot tunas and crown root ratio, while that at high gain the best results in the treatment plant water hyacinth compost. Abstract

This researh aimed to determine the effect of water level and organic mulch on physical and chemical properties of peatland in palm oil plantation. Research was conducted for four months which is started on November 2014 to February 2015 at palm oil plantation of ​​PT. Teguh Karsa Wana Lestari (TKWL) in Buantan Besar village, sub district Bungaraya, Siak District. By used 8 years old of palm oil plant. This research used Split Plot Design, consist of 2 factors. The first factor is the water level as main plot, were: the level of 40-50 cm water, 60-70 cm water level and 80-90 cm water level. The second factor is giving organic mulch as sub plot, were: without giving organic mulch, giving palm oil empty fruit bunch (POEFB), palm frond and Mucuna Bracteata. Therefore obtained 12 combinations of treatments and 3 replications, so obtained 36 units experiment. Parameters observed were physical and chemical properties. Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and were further tested by Least Significant Diference (LSD) at5 % level. Based on statistical data obtained non significant effects by water level and organic mulch in physical and chemical properties of peatland. The result of single factor by organic mulch obtained significant effects in physical and chemical properties of peatland. The result of single factor by water level  obtained significant effects in peatland water content parameters.   Keywords : Physical and chemical properties, water level, organic mulch in peatland

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of urea and cow urine application on the growth of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in main nursery. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consist of 16 treatments with three replications. The treatment given is giving urea and cow urine with concentrations as follows: Factor I, giving urea; U0: 0 g urea/polybag with 10 kg of top soil, U1: urea 0.91 g/polybag with 10 kg of top soil, U2: urea 1.82 g/polybag with 10 kg of top soil and U3: urea 3.64 g/polybag with 10 kg of top soil. Factor II, giving cow urine; K0: cow urine 0 cc/l of water, K1: cow urine 40 cc/l of water, K2: cow urine 45 cc/l of water and K3: cow urine 50 cc/l of water. Data obtained from this research were statistically analyzed by Analysis of Variance and further test DNMRT at 5% level. Parameters observed were: plant height growth, diameter of hump growth, number of leaves gain, root volume and plant fresh weight. The results show that interactions of giving urea and cow urine significantly affect to parameters diameter of hump growth, number of leaves gain, root volume and plant fresh weight. Giving urea 1,82 g/polybag and cow urine at concentrations of 45 cc/l of water is the best applcations for oil palm growth in main nursery.   Keywords : urea, cow urine, main nursery

Abstract

Agarwood is an aromatic substance formed as brown clumps, blackish brown in the lining of agarwood, divided into 3 classses; agar, kemedangan, ash. Aqualaria malaccencis has been known as an agar producing tree. Naturally, the forming of agar needs teens years. Several method has been known formed agar through wounded to Aquilaria malaccencis, Lamk. The reseach aimed was to test stressing at Aquilaria malaccencis. Lamk in forming agarwood. This research was conducted at Plot Forest Research Institute of Technology Fibers Forest at Ujungbatu, Rokan Hulu, Riau for about 5 months, started from June to October 2011. Aquilaria malaccencis, Lamk, was wound by given fisics stressing consist of without stressing (P0), cordage with 1 ring (P1), cordage with 2 rings (P2), prunning 2/3 part crown (P3), and prunning  1/2 part crown (P4) then combined with biological stressing by inoculation of Fusarium sp. The stressing was designed by randomized block design Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at significant level of 5% was applied to compared physics to agarwood producing. The changed of color and fragrance were analyzed by Non-Parametric Test. Kruskal Wallis at significant level of 5% was applied to evaluate significant treatments. Correlations Test was done between treatment at significant level of 1%. The result showed that Aquilaria malaccencis, Lamk, with fisics tressing (P1, P2, P3, dan P4) showed wood colour changed after 1 month inoculation of Fusarium sp. Stressing cordage with 2 rings (P2) which followed by inoculation of Fusarium sp at Aquilaria malaccencis, Lamk, resulted 26,76 g  dryweight of brown agar with best fragrance at level 2 after 5 months stressing. Based on statistical analysis, there were significant between stressing and agar formed. The best stressing at Aquilaria malaccencis, Lamk, was cordage with 2 rings. The result of correlations test showed strong to very strong of infection area, color changing, fragrans and dryweight of agarwood   Key words: Aquilaria malaccencis, Lamk., agarwood, stressing
