Abstract

Stunting is the condition of chronic malnutrition during the most critical growth period at the beginning of life, which is characterized by height according to age <-2 elementary school. The behavior of mothers taking care of children can be influenced by technology, which is characteristic of millennial generations. The study aimed to describe the mothers’ behavior who have children with stunting experience. Method: this study is a descriptive study with a sample of 174 respondents with a cluster random sampling technique in millennial generation mothers in the Martapura Kota Subdistrict, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan. Results: The results of the study showed that a mother's parenting style in stunting children was mostly negative, and most of the information access of mothers was productive. Conclusion: Negative parenting increases the risk of stunting in children, whereas access to productive information reduces the risk of stunting in children. Nurses are expected to provide health promotion about the understanding, causes, and effects of stunting on children so that they can change parenting to be positive and access information about productive millennial mothers. Keywords: behavior millennial mother, stunting, child

Abstract

Introduction: Neonatal jaundice is a clinical manifestation in neonates characterized by yellow coloration of the skin and sclera due to the accumulation of excess unconjugated bilirubin production in the tissues. Based on the data in the NICU of Dr. Soetomo Hospital, 46.8% of 844 neonates had neonatal jaundice. Therefore, this study is intended to analyze the risk factors associated with the incidence of neonatal jaundice. Methods: This study used observational analytic method with case control approach. There are 84 neonates used as samples taken with sequential sampling. The independent variables are ABO incompatibility, prematurity, Low Birth Weight, asphyxia, and history of Diabetes Mellitus from the mother. Whereas, the dependent variable is neonatal jaundice. The data are in the form of secondary data from neonates and the mothers, analyzed using the Contingency coefficient with α = 0.05.Results: 85.7% of ABO incompatibility neonates had neonatal jaundice (p = 0.048, OR = 6.833), 57.4% of premature neonates had neonatal jaundice (p = 0.028, OR = 3.077), 42.4% of LBW neonates had neonatal jaundice (p = 0.032, OR = 0.346), 60% of asphyxia neonates had neonatal jaundice (p = 0.500), 85.7% of mother with DM history had neonatal jaundice (p = 0.048, OR = 6.833).Conclusion: There is a relationship between ABO incompatibility, prematurity, LBW, history of DM and neonatal jaundice while there is no relationship between asphyxia and the incidence of neonatal jaundice in Dr. Soetomo Hospital.

Abstract

Introduction: Hormonal injection contraception is the most widely used method of contraception in Indonesia. In long-term use, one of the side effects of injection contraception is changes in lipid metabolism in the body caused by the accumulation of hormones in the body. Two types of injectional contraception are widely used in Indonesia, namely combined injection and DMPA injection; different hormonal content has various side effects on the lipid profile. This study aimed to compare the total cholesterol level between acceptors of DMPA injection and combined injection. Methods: This study used an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample size is 60 respondents, including 30 DMPA injection acceptors and 30 combination injection acceptors. The sampling method uses a purposive sampling technique The independent variable in this study was the total cholesterol level of the acceptor, and the dependent variable was the acceptor of DMPA injection and the combination injection acceptor. Analysis of research data used the Independent T-test with α=0.05.Results: The results of the bivariate analysis found significant differences in total cholesterol levels in the DMPA injection contraception acceptor and combination injection with p= 0.037. It was found that overall cholesterol levels of DMPA injection acceptors were higher. Conclusion: There is a difference in total cholesterol levels in the DMPA injection contraception acceptor with a combination injection contraception acceptor.

Abstract

Introduction: Uterine prolapse is a gynecological problem that women often experience with a prevalence of 50% and is predicted that the next 30 years will increase by 45% as life expectancy increases. Increased degrees of uterine prolapse have an impact on the deterioration of women's quality of life. The uterine prolapse is influenced by several mutually supportive factors. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between these factors to the degree of uterine prolapse. Methods: This research is an observational analytic research with cross sectional approach. The number of samples were 65 patients with uterine prolapse at Policlinic Gynecology RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya from 2015-2017. Sampling was done by consecutive sampling. To find out the significant level, the collected data will be tested with Fisher Exact Test statistic at significance level α = 0,05.Results: The result showed that there was significant difference between degree of uterine prolapse with age factor (p = 0,016) and obesity (p = 0,041). As for the parity factor (p = 0.508) there was no significant difference between the parity factor and the degree of uterine prolapse.Discussion: Age is a major factor affecting the degree of uterine prolapse, weakening of pelvic floor tissue and muscle in elderly women is the main cause. While on the obesity factor, there is no data to support that obesity is related to the degree of uterine prolapse because the trend indicates that the majority of patients are not obese. In contrast the parity factor, although according to the statistical test there is no difference to the degree of uterine prolapse, the trend shows that parity leads to increased incidence of uterine prolapse itself. Conclusion: Age is a factor that affects the degree of uterine prolapse.

Abstract

Introduction: Medical students are experiencing uncertainty in finding the appropriate help for their mental health problems. When they finally decide to seek help, some of them are already in a mental crisis. The suitable indicator for early identification of mental disorder is mental health literacy. Mental health literacy also functions as a tool to decrease stigma towards people with mental illness and to improve help-seeking behavior. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of mental health literacy to help-seeking behavior and to describe mental health literacy and help-seeking behavior of the medical students. Methods: The study design was observational analytical. Participants filled demographic data and answered questionnaire via an online file sharing platform. The questionnaires used in this study were Mental Health Literacy Scale (MHLS) and Attitudes Toward Seeking Professional Psychological Help Short Form (ATSPPH-SF). The influence of mental health literacy to help-seeking behavior was analyzed using logistic regression analysis.  Results: The respondents were 60 medical students. No differences of literacy and attitude were found across the admission years. Overall, the students had good literacy and attitude. Students showed lower scores in the MHLS attributes containing ideas about self-treatments, confidentiality, social distance, and reliance on self. Being literate in the total score of MHLS did not influence on having a good attitude in ATSPPH-SF (p=0.303). Only by being literate in attitudes that promote recognition and help-seeking, the students showed a good attitude in ATSPPH-SF (p-value=0.027).  Conclusion: There was no influence on mental health literacy to help-seeking behavior.

Abstract

Introduction: ICH (intracerebral hemorrhage) is a medical emergency with high mortality and morbidity that occurs in 15-20% of stroke cases. However, in the Multicenter Surgical Trial in Lobar ICH (STICH) study no benefit was found from the initial operative handler in Lobar ICH patients. Many clinical and radiological factors that affect outcomes of patients. Methods: The design of this study was a cross-sectional study. Clinical and radiological factors were analyzed by chi-square test and Kruskal-Wallis test. Then significant results were sought Relative RiskResults: This research was conducted from January 2017 to September 2018 starting from sampling to processing data. Sampling was carried out at the medical record center of Dr. Hospital. Soetomo Surabaya. Data collection is done by using secondary data in the form of patient medical records. All of the collected intracerebral hemorrhage patients were 302 and the total patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included in the study as the study subjects. Patients who met the criteria obtained 247 research subjects. Conclusion: There are several factors that influence the outcome of ICH stroke patients. Radiological factors and clinical factors both have an impact on outcomes. Further research is needed to find out which factors can be a diagnosis for choosing treatments that provide better outcomes. Statistically more than 1 variable is needed to determine an action that results in a more significant outcome of living patients. This shows that the choice of treatment for patients with different characteristics requires different treatments. Further analysis is needed to look for indications of the use of Operative or Conservative actions16.
