Abstract

Indonesia is one of the developing countries, which means that Indonesia has a lot of human resources. Humans have different personalities or individual characteristics. A normal personality can be described as flexible, while impaired ego function that causes rigidity is considered a sign of personality pathology. In this case, a person's personality varies depending on their habits and environment. According to the theory of Kernberg (1984), lower levels of organizational personality produce emotional instability. Where it can encourage the development of mal-adaptive behavior patterns. Objective: This study aims to identify the personality and differences in each individual that can improve their performance. The method in this study is systematic review. The search for English-language articles sourced from sciencedirect with publication years from 2020 to 2022 which were then reviewed according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on the results of the systematic review, individual personality cannot be equated with each person because each individual has different habits and environments and can affect employee performance. Low personality accompanied by rumination can exacerbate symptoms of depression. If individuals have high / positive personality traits, it has an important role in improving innovative behavior and performance.

Abstract

Work accidents that occur in the workplace can harm workers and companies both materially and non-materially and temporarily or permanently. Workplace accidents are unwanted events that can cause physical injury to a person even fatal to death or lifelong disability and property damage. The main cause of accidents in the workplace is due to a lack of knowledge, skills and other factors from within the individual who will eventually tend to behave unsafely at work. This study is quantitative research with research type observational analytical research with a cross-sectional design. This study employed a total population sampling method, including all 35 participants from X Company and residents of the Z Plant area, conducted during March to April 2024. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. Spearman correlation analysis was used to assess the strength of the relationship. The results showed that the strong relationship between knowledge (r = 0.377) with safety behavior was in the low category. While the strong relationship between skills (r = 0.470) with safety behavior is in the medium category.

Abstract

The most common physical risk at work is noise, which may cause several health issues. These include diseases of the auditory system and non-auditory impacts including poor communication, tension, anxiety, high blood pressure, and decreased productivity. At the production unit of PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Tbk. Plant Margomulyo, this research aimed to examine the association between respondent characteristics and noise intensity in the workplace and changes in workers' blood pressure before and after work. 51 respondents participated in the cross-sectional study using an analytical and observational methodology. The results showed that elevated blood pressure was significantly correlated with age (p = 0.000), duration of service (p = 0.007), usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) (p = 0.011), and noise intensity (p = 0.000). Nonetheless, no statistically significant correlation was seen between elevated blood pressure and dietary state (p = 0.467), smoking behaviors (p = 0.763), or history of hypertension (p = 0.170). These findings suggest that while lifestyle factors like smoking and nutritional status have less impact in this context, occupational factors— particularly noise exposure—as well as certain personal characteristics like age and length of service are linked to elevated blood pressure in workers.

Abstract

Introduction: Organizational success is influenced by the performance of each employee in it. Work stress experienced by the employees is one of the obstacles in improving the quality of the organization. Another research showed that employees of Manado City Health Office experienced 27.7% low stress and 72.3% moderate stress, which affected the work productivity of the employees. This research aims to see the relationship between gender and exercise habits on the stress experienced by the employees of Surabaya City Health Office. Method: This research is an observational type of research where the primary data were obtained from the responses of 32 employees of the Surabaya City Health Office. The data were collected by using a questionnaire based on the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower No. 5 of 2018 concerning Occupational Health and Safety in the Work Environment. The primary data obtained were then analyzed using cross-tabulation in a data processing software. Result: This research shows that, with an alpha of 5% (0.005), the relationship between gender and work stress events has a significance value of 0.013, while the relationship between exercise habits and work stress events has a significance value of 0.006. Conclusion: This research shows that there is a significant relationship between gender and exercise habits on stress events in Surabaya City Health Office employees. Women employees experience a higher incidence of work stress than male employees. Furthermore, the habit of exercising can reduce stress events because exercising can stimulate endorphins which play a role in creating a sense of calm, reducing pain, and releasing tension

Abstract

Introduction:Emotional eating is a person's response to stress or inadequate and ineffective stress coping and is shown by the behavior of eating more than needed and is associated with increased body weight. Emotional eating is caused by age, gender, exercise habits, and work stress. Based on the observations carried out at Kalla Group Office, employees tend to work in a monotonous and static manner that has the potential to increase the risk of emotional eating. The aim of this research is to determine the strength and weakness of the correlation between age, gender, exercise habits, and work stress with emotional eating in Kalla Head Office workers. Methods: This quantitative research was carried out through analytical observational design. The number of samples taken is 133 people using purposive sampling. In this case, the independent variables measured are age, gender, exercise habits, and work stress. Meanwhile, the dependent variable studied is the level of emotional eating using "The Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire of 13 items (DEBQ-13)". Data were further analyzed using Spearman correlation coefficient test (Spearman rho). Results: The research results show varied relationship with the independent variables including age (r = 0.052), gender (r = 0.251), exercise habits (r = -0.128), and stress (r = 0.048). Conclusion: Age is a variable that has the weakest relationship, while gender has the strongest relationship with emotional eating compared to the variables exercise habits and work stress.
