Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Course Review Horay (CRH) learning model in improving students' learning outcomes on the topic of Energy and its Changes. The background of this study is the low average formative test scores for this topic, despite the fact that the basic material has been taught at the elementary and middle school levels. As a result, the CRH learning model, coupled with the learning experience through the Quiz Competition (LCC), was tested to strengthen and review the material in an interactive and engaging way. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a one-group pretest-posttest design, analyzed using SPSS version 27. The sample consists of 34 students from class 10 ULP 2 out of a total population of 120 students. Data were obtained from pretest and posttest results. Normality testing using the Shapiro-Wilk test resulted in significance values of 0.011 and 0.047 for pretest and posttest, respectively, indicating that the data were not normally distributed. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the nonparametric Wilcoxon test, with a significance value of 0.01, which is less than 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1). The results indicate that the CRH learning model has a significant effect on improving students' learning outcomes. The effectiveness of the learning model is categorized as fairly effective, with an N-Gain value of 58.52%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning, Video-Based Learning, and   models on students' cognitive learning outcomes in food additives material. The research approach used a quantitative approach with a posttest-only control group design involving three eighth-grade classes at SMPN 27 Bandung as research subjects selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through a validated learning outcome test instrument and then analyzed using the Kruskal–Wallis nonparametric test and the Mann–Whitney follow-up test because the normality assumption was not met.  The results showed that the highest median learning outcome score was obtained in the Discovery Learning model (90.00), followed by Video-Based Learning (80.00) and Direct Instruction (70.00). The Kruskal-Wallis test showed a significance value of 0.029 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference in learning outcomes between the three learning models. Specifically, the follow-up test showed that the Discovery Learning model had a significantly different impact compared to Direct Instruction, while the Video-Based Learning model had a different impact compared to Direct Instruction. These findings confirm that knowledge construction through independent discovery activities is more effective in improving science concept understanding. Teachers are advised to integrate exploratory learning to minimize the gap in student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Low levels of patient satisfaction can negatively affect the quality of health care facilities, particularly at the primary care level such as community health centers (puskesmas). One of the factors influencing patient satisfaction is the limited level of patient literacy regarding the National Health Insurance (Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional—JKN) system. Insufficient understanding of patients’ rights, procedures, and service pathways may lead to misunderstandings, dissatisfaction, and even negative perceptions of service quality. This condition poses a challenge for Puskesmas Bungursari, Purwakarta, which is a primary health care facility with a high patient visit rate. This study aimed to determine the relationship between literacy regarding the JKN system and patient satisfaction at Puskesmas Bungursari, Purwakarta Regency. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted. The study population consisted of 1,431 individuals, with a sample size of 257 respondents. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with an accidental sampling approach. The research instruments were literacy and satisfaction questionnaires that had been tested for validity. Statistical analysis included the chi-square test and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. The results showed a significant relationship between literacy and patient satisfaction at Puskesmas Bungursari, Purwakarta Regency (p-value < 0.001), with an odds ratio of 13.084. Furthermore, literacy remained significantly associated with patient satisfaction (p-value < 0.001) after controlling for the employment variable (p-value = 0.019). To improve patient satisfaction at puskesmas, efforts should focus on enhancing health literacy through the use of visual strategies and effective communication, as well as improving the quality of empathetic services that include attentive listening to patient complaints and fair treatment.

Abstract

Abstract Self-disclosure is the process of revealing personal information to others and plays a vital role in identity development, emotional regulation, and the formation of healthy interpersonal relationships, especially among adolescents. However, within the Indonesian educational context, students' openness remains hindered by factors such as shame, fear of stigma, and a lack of supportive environments. This study highlights findings from the 2023 Counseling Corner program in Karawang Regency, which revealed a high level of student resistance to disclosing personal issues, even through anonymous mechanisms. It is necessary to implement guidance and counseling approaches based on safe spaces, trust-building, and the use of expressive methods such as art therapy and narrative techniques to promote self-disclosure. This approach not only supports students' emotional well-being but also serves as a preventive strategy in creating an inclusive and psychologically healthy school environment. Keywords: self-disclosure, guidance and counseling, students, psychological well-being, safe space.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the singing method assisted by finger media in improving the ability to recognize numbers 1–10 in Group A children at PAUD Baitul Ulum Manggahang. The background of this study is based on the low level of early numeracy skills in children, as indicated by difficulties in recognizing number symbols, counting objects, and arranging numbers independently. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with three cycles, consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 11 children aged 4–5 years. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, documentation, and field notes, and then analyzed descriptively using a qualitative approach. The results showed a gradual improvement in children's abilities in each cycle. In Cycle I, children began to show interest and active participation, although they still required assistance from the teacher. Cycle II showed a significant improvement in counting skills and recognizing number symbols. In Cycle III, almost all children reached the category of Very Well Developed (BSB) and were able to recognize, count, and sequence numbers 1–10 independently. These findings indicate that the singing method assisted by finger media is effective because it integrates auditory, visual, and kinesthetic aspects in accordance with the developmental characteristics of early childhood. Abstract

The increasing demand for sustainable infrastructure has led to a focus on cost optimization in retrofit projects, particularly in maritime infrastructure such as jetties. Sustainable development aims to balance economic growth, environmental protection, and social welfare, highlighting the need for efficient resource utilization. Jetty retrofit projects, crucial for port operations, often face high construction and maintenance costs. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Value Engineering (VE) and Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) in optimizing the costs of jetty retrofit projects while ensuring long-term sustainability. A mixed-method research design was employed, combining quantitative data from questionnaires and statistical analysis with qualitative insights from field observations and interviews. The study found that integrating VE significantly reduced operational costs, particularly through the substitution of conventional energy systems with renewable energy sources such as solar panels. The application of LCCA demonstrated that long-term savings from energy efficiency could offset higher initial investments. The findings show that the use of VE and LCCA together can achieve cost savings of up to 5.21% and enhance financial viability, with a Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR) of 2.20, Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 40.40 billion, and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 46.93%. These results underline the financial and environmental feasibility of green retrofit projects. This research contributes to sustainable infrastructure practices by highlighting cost-effective strategies for jetty retrofitting.
