Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the material for specialization Arabic textbooks published by the Directorate KSKK the Ministry of Religion Affairs is interactive and can be used for high school level students and their relevance to student abilities. The research method used in this research is a qualitative-descriptive method with a literature study design. There is two technique collection; primary sources in the form of Arabic textbooks for class X published by the Directorate KSKK the Ministry of Religion Affairs, and secondary sources in the form of books and journals relevant to related topics. From the results of the analysis carried out, it was concluded that this book was not deemed feasible and suitable for use by students as teaching materials that could support the achievement of the objectives of learning Arabic, both in terms of theory and practice. So it is necessary to make improvements, in terms of content. Hopefully, these findings can become a reference and have positive implications in correcting existing deficiencies.

Abstract

This research discusses the influence of the development of Arabic calligraphy art on culture in Indonesia. The art of Arabic calligraphy, with its beauty and philosophical meaning, has become an integral part of Islamic culture. In Indonesia, Arabic calligraphy is not only considered a form of visual art, but also as an expression of spiritual values ​​and Islamic aesthetic beauty. This research identifies and analyzes the impact of the development of Arabic calligraphy on various aspects of culture in Indonesia. First, Arabic calligraphy art has made a significant contribution to the development of Indonesian fine arts. His influence is visible in the decorative arts, architecture, and other works of art. Arabic calligraphy is not only an aesthetic element, but also a means of conveying religious and spiritual messages. Second, the art of Arabic calligraphy plays an important role in enriching language culture in Indonesia. Many Arabic words used in calligraphy became part of the local vocabulary, creating linguistic synergy between Arab and Indonesian cultures. Third, the art of Arabic calligraphy also has an impact on religious culture in Indonesia. The use of calligraphy in religious contexts, such as in mosques and other places of worship, creates a deeply spiritual environment and adds value to religious practices. Thus, this research details how Arabic calligraphy not only functions as a visual art medium, but also as an agent of cultural and spiritual change in Indonesia. It is hoped that this in-depth understanding of the impact of Arabic calligraphy art can enrich perspectives on cultural dynamics and diversity in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of cross-cultural reflection within the context of multicultural education, focusing on understanding the dynamics of cultural diversity in the classroom. This research uses an ethnographic method with a qualitative approach. The research data were obtained through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis in several multicultural schools in Indonesia. Data analysis Involves identifying recurring themes, patterns, and ideas within the data, process of comparing data segments to identify similarities and differences, focuses on the stories and experiences shared by participants. The findings indicate that cross-cultural education plays an important role in improving intercultural understanding, motivating students, and creating a more inclusive learning environment. The integration of local culture into learning through the use of folklore and traditional practices has proven effective in increasing student engagement. In addition, the results of the study reveal the need for further training for teachers in adopting an ethnopedagogical approach to overcome learning barriers due to cultural differences.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the differences in phrases between the Koran and Arabic in linguistic and literary contexts. The method used is a comparative analysis of phrase structures in the two languages, by reviewing aspects of syntax, semantics and pragmatics. The research results show that although the Koranic language has the same roots as Arabic, its use has its own characteristics that reflect the beauty and excellence of the Koranic literature. There are 17 differences found between these two languages including the use of words, sentence patterns and language conventions that are unique to the language of the Koran. It is hoped that this research will provide a deeper understanding of the language of the Koran as well as contribute to the study of Arabic linguistics and literature in general.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the similarities and differences between the Sulatsi Mujarrad chapter and the two books. This study utilizes a qualitative approach, relying on library research as the main methodology. Based on literature references, documentation, and content analysis were used for the data collection method. In the analysis and interpretation stage of the collected data, the researcher applied the comparative thinking method by comparing two Ṣaraf books. The first book is At-Taṣrīf, while the second Ṣaraf book, which is the object of comparison, is Amṡilah Taṣrīfiyyah. From the results of this research, it was found that there are similarities in terms of the form of taṣrīf and differences in terms of the arrangement of taṣrīf terms and taṣrīf Lugawī. The At-Taṣrīf book has a more complete taṣrīf structure, while the Amṡilah Taṣrīfiyyah book has isim alāt, fi'il madi and mudari majhul and isim maf’ūl which are not found in the taṣrīf structure.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to reveal the clarity of the translation in the movie Saladin Al-Ayyubi. This research uses a qualitative approach with document analysis method. The data used in this study came from the dialog sentences of the two characters' speech in the subtitle of Saladin Al-Ayyubi episode 4 on the Arabic Cartoon YouTube channel and the results of a survey conducted on respondents totaling 21 participants. To collect data, the researcher watched and observed the movie Saladin Al-Ayyubi repeatedly to transcribe the movie. After that, the researcher distributed questionnaires to classify and analyze the types of methods, clarity, and audience responses to the Arabic - Indonesian translation in the Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi film. The findings of this study are the types of methods used in the Arabic - Indonesian translation of Saladin Al-Ayyubi movie and the level of clarity of the methods used according to the audience. The researcher found five out of eight Newmark methods used in the translation, namely (1) word-by-word method; (2) semantic method; (3 free method; (4) literal method; and (5) communicative method. The level of intelligibility in the Arabic - Indonesian subtitles of Saladin Al-Ayyubi movie shows that 19% of the text is at a low level of legibility, 59% of the text is at a medium level of legibility, and 22% of the text is at a high level of legibility.

Abstract

Characteristic of mahfuzhat is using of high register and contain cultural content and norms. That is bring  own problems into student from memorizing procces, understanding a meaning and practicing. The goals of this study aims to describe and to provide a solution problematic that it has related with mahfuzhat learning. This research uses a case study approach, by observing field phenomena. As for the research subjects, namely students of the 1st semester of the Arabic Language Education Department. The data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation, then the data analysis used was data display, data reduction and triangulation. The research findings show that the problem of competency aspects is due to aspects of vocabulary, rules and differences in several elements and characteristics between Arabic and Indonesian, the lack of time for practice, non-linguistic problems due to internal and external factors of the learners. The solutions include increasing the components and implementing learning as well as strengthening the motivation and self-confidence of learner.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity and reliability of Arabic language test items for grade II students of an elementary school without a pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) background in Bekasi City. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used in this research were non-test instruments in the form of observation and test instruments in the form of 10 multiple-choice Arabic language questions, adapted to teaching materials at the existing learning level. Data analysis techniques include reducing, presenting, and drawing conclusions from existing data. Based on the data found, the level of validity of the Arabic language test questions from question numbers 1 to 10 provided 60% is in the valid category and 40% is not. While the level of reliability based on Cronbach's Alpha testing technique is at 0.82 which indicates very reliable. It is hoped that the findings of this research have positive implications for teacher knowledge.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the quality of Arabic language examination questions in the National Standardized Final Examination (Ujian Akhir Berstandar Nasional - UABN) at the Nurul Amal Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA), Karawang, for the academic year 2022/2023. The evaluation involves aspects of validity, reliability, difficulty level, item discrimination, distractor effectiveness, and Bloom's Taxonomy cognitive level. The research method employs a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. Data were obtained from the documentation of examination questions and answer sheets, as well as interviews with teachers and students. The participants comprised 14 fourth-grade students of MDTA, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Analysis was conducted using Microsoft Office Excel for validity and reliability, and Anbuso Ver.8 software for difficulty level, item discrimination, and distractor effectiveness. The validity analysis results showed that only 20% of the items were valid, highlighting the need for structural improvements in item formulation. The test reliability met the desired standard, with 8 valid items yielding higher reliability. The difficulty level exhibited variation, ranging from difficult to easy. Evaluation of students' and teachers' perceptions revealed differences in assessing the difficulty level of the questions. Item discrimination analysis identified items with good discrimination, but some were inadequate. The effectiveness of distractors in 67.5% of the items required revision due to unsatisfactory performance. This study contributes to understanding the quality of Arabic language examination questions at MDTA and offers improvement suggestions. HOTS and LOTS) indicate that 21 questions fall under the LOTS category, while 19 other questions fall under the HOTS category. The findings are expected to positively influence the development of Arabic language learning evaluations, especially at MDTA

Abstract

Based on the importance of pronunciation in Arabic, this study aims to analyze the pronunciation characteristics of students' reading Arabic texts in the discourse text "مَدْرَسَتِيْ" and identify the factors of difficulty and causes of students' pronunciation errors. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. In this study, data collection was carried out by researchers by conducting observations, questionnaires, and interviewing students and Arabic teachers in one of the schools located in the city of Bandung. This research was conducted using test and non-test instruments. The test instrument used was to conduct a reading test of Arabic texts on students to see the characteristics of students' pronunciation in Arabic text readings. The non-test instruments are observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of students in reciting Arabic text readings are different and there are several errors from students when reading Arabic texts in one of the discourses in the tenth grade of senior high school Arabic textbook entitled "مَدْرَسَتِيْ". These errors are errors in pronouncing letters in a word and errors in reading vowels mark (harakat). This research focuses on finding the pronunciation characteristics of students' reading Arabic texts and this is a novelty in this research. It is hoped that this research can provide good solutions and concepts in the implementation of qira'ah learning in senior high schools in the future.
