Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji implikasi penggunaan deiksis persona dalam kisah Nabi Nuh AS sebagaimana tercantum di ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an terhadap prinsip kesantunan berdasarkan teori Geoffrey Leech. Fokus penelitian adalah menganalisis bagaimana deiksis persona dalam tuturan perintah dan larangan mencerminkan nilai-nilai kesantunan. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik analisis isi, mengidentifikasi 29 bentuk deiksis persona dari sembilan surah Al-Qur'an yang relevan. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik simak dan catat, lalu dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa deiksis persona pertama tunggal adalah yang paling dominan digunakan (44,82%). Prinsip kesantunan yang sering muncul adalah maksim simpati dan kearifan (masing-masing 30%), yang mencerminkan empati Nabi Nuh kepada kaumnya, baik dalam upaya mengajak mereka kepada kebaikan maupun saat menghadapi penolakan. Selain itu, variasi deiksis persona menunjukkan perbedaan pola komunikasi sesuai dengan relasi partisipan, seperti antara Allah dan Nabi Nuh, serta Nuh dengan kaumnya. Kesimpulannya, deiksis persona dalam Al-Qur'an bukan berfungsi sebagai alat linguistik saja akan tetapi sebagai sarana penguat pesan moral dan etika komunikasi, yang relevan dalam konteks interaksi manusia sehari-hari.

Abstract

Background: This research discusses the Arabic Muslim Adventure application, an interactive app designed to help students learn Arabic through a game-based learning approach. The main issue explored is how this application affects students' functional and emotional engagement. Aims: This research aims to explore the extent to which Don Norman's hierarchy of design is applied in the user-centred AMA application from functional and emotional aspects. Methods: The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data sources were obtained from field observations and interviews with participants. Sampling was carried out using a non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling based on gender. The participants in this research were eight elementary school students. The data collection technique was carried out through two stages, namely observations and interviews. The data analysis process through: data display, data verification, and conclusion drawing. Results: AMA is easy to use because of the familiar icons and useful to help understand Arabic vocabulary. The AMA application has an Islamic cultural identity and attractive visuals that successfully increase learning motivation. Some improvements are proposed, such as adding notifications on the charades game and clearer explanations in the mufradat section. This application successfully combines functional and emotional aspects that create positive responses. Implications: This research is expected to provide new insights into the importance of a user-centred design approach in the development of educational applications, especially in the context of Arabic language education.

Abstract

This study investigates the meaning of the word qalb in the Qur’an through a stylistic and semantic lens, with particular attention to its role in the process of human knowledge acquisition. Employing a qualitative-descriptive methodology and textual analysis of selected Qur’anic verses, the research explores the stylistic expressions and semantic nuances of qalb within contexts related to cognitive, affective, and spiritual functions. The findings qalb operates as an integrative faculty, synthesizing intuition, inner experience, and rationality processing reality and meaning in a holistic manner. The stylistic analysis reveals that references to qalb frequently appear in rhetorically charged structures aimed at evoking moral and spiritual consciousness, particularly in warnings against hardness of heart, calls for introspection, and reminders of the consequences of ignoring divine guidance. These findings affirm qalb as an epistemological construct inherently intertwined with the process of apprehending divine truth, which cannot be reduced to or replaced by the notions of ʿaql (intellect) or shadr (chest).

Abstract

This study aims to align assessment in teaching and learning of the Kitabah material based on Assessment for Learning (AFL). To achieve this goal, this study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, utilizing two data sources: primary data collected through interviews and observations, and secondary data obtained from the MTs Arabic curriculum and the seventh-grade teaching modules at MTs Al-Musyawarah Lembang. The study population consisted of 26 students with 7 samples selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis included data condensation, presentation, and verification through the application of triangulation of sources and methods to ensure data validity. The results of the study indicate that assessment practices are not fully aligned with the principles of Assessment for Learning of the four main prerequisites for optimal AfL integration, only one has been implemented: teachers simplifying learning objectives according to student abilities. Other prerequisites, such as assessments, do not provide constructive feedback. Students have not been trained to assess themselves or their peers, and schools do not adequately support the learning of the kitabah material, including the provision of textbooks that are more suited to students' abilities.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of assessment as learning through reflective evaluation in Arabic reading (qirā’ah) instruction for fifth-grade students at Islamic elementary schools. The research aims to examine how reflective assessment fosters students’ awareness of their own learning processes and contributes to the development of metacognitive reading skills. Using a descriptive qualitative design with a phenomenological approach, data were collected from fifteen purposively selected students through classroom observations, evaluative judgment, and reflective questionnaires. The data were analyzed thematically to identify reflective patterns in students’ responses. The findings indicate that students began to demonstrate reflective awareness in reading, particularly in self-assessment, managing personal biases, and seeking opportunities for feedback. However, challenges remain in discerning text quality and evaluating digital sources. The study contributes a novel perspective on reflective learning in Arabic education by positioning students as active participants in the assessment process. It suggests that assessment as learning can transform Arabic reading instruction into a more participatory, reflective, and lifelong learning-oriented practice.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of nur (light) in the Qur'an through Toshihiko Izutsu's semantic approach and his insights into the values of Islamic education. Employing a qualitative methodology with document analysis, this study investigates the semantic structure of the term nur in the Qur'an and its significance for Islamic educational values. The primary data comprises 38 verses from 24 surahs that contain the term nur, selected based on symbolic and semantic criteria. From this, seven key verses were chosen for detailed analysis. Data were collected through a literature review and analyzed using Izutsu's relational semantic framework, which incorporates syntagmatic and paradigmatic analysis. The findings indicate that nur possesses a lexical meaning as light, along with a relational meaning that reveals its syntagmatic and paradigmatic relationships, which contribute to the theocentric worldview of the Qur'an, encompassing divine guidance, faith, knowledge, and spiritual transformation. The concept of nur serves not only as a metaphysical symbol but also carries practical implications for Islamic education. It embodies values such as the purification of the soul, moral development, the pursuit of knowledge, and submission to God. The symbol of light in the Qur'an suggests that education transcends cognitive aspects, fostering moral and spiritual awareness. This article contributes theoretically by integrating Toshihiko Izutsu's relational semantic approach with the concept of Islamic educational values grounded in revelation, thereby creating new avenues for the development of Islamic curricula and the study of interpretation. Abstrak Artikel ini membahas konsep nūr (cahaya) dalam Al-Qur’an melalui pendekatan semantik Toshihiko Izutsu serta refleksinya terhadap nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis dokumen untuk mengkaji struktur semantik kata nūr dalam Al-Qur'an dan relevansinya dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam. Data primer terdiri dari 38 ayat dari 24 surah yang mengandung nūr, yang dipilih berdasarkan kriteria simbolik dan semantik. Dari sana, tujuh ayat kunci dipilih secara sengaja untuk analisis mendalam. Data dikumpulkan melalui tinjauan pustaka dan dianalisis menggunakan kerangka kerja semantik relasional Izutsu, yang melibatkan analisis sintagmatik dan paradigmatik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nūr memiliki makna leksikal sebagai cahaya, serta makna relasional yang relasional yang menunjukkan bahwa nūr memiliki relasi sintagmatik dan paradigmatik yang membentuk pandangan dunia Qur’ani yang teosentris seperti petunjuk ilahi, keimanan, ilmu pengetahuan, hingga transformasi spiritual. Konsep nūr tidak hanya sebagai simbol metafisik, tetapi juga memiliki implikasi praktis dalam pendidikan Islam. Ia mencerminkan nilai-nilai seperti penyucian jiwa, pembentukan akhlak, pencarian ilmu, dan ketundukan kepada Tuhan. Simbol cahaya dalam Al-Qur’an menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan tidak hanya bersifat kognitif, tetapi juga membentuk kesadaran moral dan spiritual. Artikel ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis dengan mengintegrasikan pendekatan semantik relasional Toshihiko Izutsu dengan konsep nilai pendidikan Islam berbasis wahyu, yang membuka ruang baru dalam pengembangan kurikulum Islam dan studi tafsir.

Abstract

Teaching ḥiwar in elementary schools necessitates the transformation of curriculum content into contextually relevant and teachable materials. However, many educators tend to rely exclusively on textbooks, resulting in a disconnect between curriculum objectives and classroom practices. This study investigates the process of didactic transposition at the knowledge level in fifth-grade Arabic ḥiwar lessons, emphasizing how teachers adapt curriculum guidelines into practical learning resources. Utilizing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were gathered through document analysis of curriculum and teaching modules, complemented by unstructured interviews with an Arabic language teacher. A praxeological study served as a framework for document analysis. The findings indicate that while the teaching modules formally align with curriculum objectives, they are seldom utilized as effective teaching tools. Educators often depend on textbooks, overlooking contextual scaffolding and systematic strategies, which leads to fragmented material delivery. This disconnect hampers students' communication skills and diminishes the effectiveness of the ḥiwar method in enhancing speaking abilities. This study underscores the necessity for dynamic teaching modules that incorporate explicit learning indicators, contextual materials, and clear instructional techniques. Strengthening the alignment between curriculum, modules, and classroom practices can mitigate didactic misalignment and enhance learning outcomes. Future research should investigate technology-based and interactive resources to optimize the transposition of didactic learning in Arabic ḥiwār. Abstrak Mengajarkan ḥiwār di sekolah dasar memerlukan transformasi konten kurikulum menjadi materi yang bermakna secara kontekstual dan dapat diajarkan. Namun, banyak guru hanya mengandalkan buku teks, sehingga menciptakan kesenjangan antara tujuan kurikulum dan praktik kelas. Studi ini meneliti proses transposisi didaktik pada tahap pengetahuan yang akan diajarkan dalam pelajaran ḥiwār bahasa Arab kelas lima, dengan fokus pada bagaimana guru mengadaptasi pedoman kurikulum menjadi materi pembelajaran praktis. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui analisis dokumen kurikulum dan modul pengajaran, serta wawancara tidak terstruktur dengan seorang guru bahasa Arab yang selanjutnya dilakukan kajian praxeology sebagai alat untuk analisis dokumen. Temuan ini mengungkapkan bahwa meskipun modul pengajaran secara formal mencerminkan tujuan kurikulum, modul tersebut jarang diterapkan sebagai alat pengajaran fungsional. Guru cenderung bergantung pada buku teks, mengabaikan perancah kontekstual dan strategi sistematis, yang mengakibatkan penyampaian materi terfragmentasi. Ketidaksesuaian ini membatasi kemampuan komunikasi siswa dan mengurangi efektivitas metode ḥiwār dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara. Studi ini menyoroti perlunya modul pengajaran dinamis yang mengintegrasikan indikator pembelajaran yang eksplisit, materi kontekstual, dan teknik pengajaran yang jelas. Memperkuat keselarasan antara kurikulum, modul, dan praktik di kelas dapat mengurangi kesenjangan didaktik dan meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran. Penelitian di masa mendatang sebaiknya mengeksplorasi sumber daya berbasis teknologi dan interaktif untuk mengoptimalkan transposisi didaktik pembelajaran ḥiwār bahasa Arab.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of what factors influence student learning difficulties and whether scrabble game media helps students solve these problems and what challenges are faced when implementing the game. Arabic has a rapid rate of progress. However, many students have difficulty understanding Arabic vocabulary that needs to be overcome. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The methods used were observation and interviews. Selection of methods based on the condition of the object. In the results of this study it was found that there was a lack of motivation in students, it was difficult for students to understand and pronounce Arabic vocabulary. And the use of scrabble game media is effective in overcoming students' difficulties in learning Arabic. Recommendations from the research results to carry out further research with a wider subject, so that generalizations can be drawn. The implications of this research are used as a direction by the school, especially Arabic subject teachers to increase student motivation and help students understand Arabic vocabulary so that students are able to master Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

Communicative approach is a language learning approach that emphasizes the assignment of language skills rather than language structure. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of language using a communicative approach through various learning methods in Arabic language learning to improve language skills, the method used is to use the literature study method or also called the literature study method whose data comes from various sources of literature relevant to this research, the subject of this research is MI and MTS Ar-Rohmah students, then the data collection techniques that researchers choose are, interviews, observation and documentation.  The results of this study also show that learning methods using communicative methods are very influential to support language skills. the role of the teacher, and the teaching materials used are also very important in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors of Difficulty in Learning Arabic for Class VIII Students of SMP Miftahul Iman Bandung City. This research is very important to be carried out to find out the various factors that are obstacles for grade VIII students of SMP Miftahul Iman Kota Bandung in learning Arabic and find solutions. This type of research is qualitative research. The research participants were class VIII students at SMP Miftahul Iman, Bandung City. Data collection methods and techniques are in the form of questionnaires distributed to grade VII students of SMP Miftahul Iman and interviews conducted by teachers who teach Arabic subjects. The results showed that the factors of difficulty learning Arabic for grade VIII students of SMP Miftahul Iman Kota Bandung include curriculum factors and their components, namely, learning objectives, materials, methods and learning media which if not good will affect the learning process of students. Furthermore, factors of lack of interest in learning Arabic, learning methods and media, students' perceptions of Arabic lessons, students' educational background, and bi'ah lughawiyyah, these factors greatly affect the learning process of grade VIII students of SMP Miftahul Iman Kota Bandung in Arabic lessons.
