Abstract

Deaf children face unique challenges in learning Hijaiyah letters, particularly in distinguishing letter sounds due to hearing limitations. These challenges necessitate tailored instructional approaches that accommodate their sensory needs. This study aims to explore the implementation of the drill method combined with clay media in teaching Hijaiyah letters to deaf children at a Community Learning Center (Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar). Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, data were collected through classroom observation and in-depth interviews with one teacher and two deaf students. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the integration of the drill method, clay media, and sign language enhances learning outcomes by promoting student engagement, improving concentration, and supporting better comprehension of Hijaiyah letters. The study concludes that this interactive, multisensory approach is effective in optimizing Hijaiyah instruction for deaf children and should be considered in inclusive Islamic education settings

Abstract

This study aims to elaborate on the assessment of instructional planning (lesson plan), particularly how planning emerges from the teacher's internal didactic transposition. It focuses on the diffusion of knowledge by teachers from the curriculum and textbooks into the form of teaching modules or lesson plans. A qualitative approach through phenomenological research method was employed in this study. The data sources include the Arabic language teaching module for Grade 3 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Bandung and Arabic language teacher as participants. The selection of one Arabic teacher as a participant in this study can be justified methodologically with a purposive sampling approach. Data collection techniques consisted of document analysis and in-depth interviews, followed by a praxeological review as an analytical tool. The assessment results identified learning barriers faced by students in the Qiraah (reading) skill material. In this context, internal didactic transposition defined as the transformation of theoretical material into teaching practice plays a crucial role in aligning instructional content with students’ needs and learning objectives. The process of internal transposition in Qiraah instruction positively impacts students’ reading skills, especially when teaching materials are adapted contextually and made relevant to the students’ proficiency levels. These findings pave the way for deeper investigation into the influence of teacher-student verbal exchanges and teaching approaches on students’ comprehension of vocabulary and their reading strategies in Arabic text-based instruction.

Abstract

Background: Reading comprehension (qirā’ah) is a fundamental skill in learning Arabic as a foreign language. As the complexity of texts and the demands of critical literacy increase, there is a need for a conceptual model that can map the cognitive and epistemic processes involved in understanding Arabic texts. Purpose: This study explores the technical potential of the Reference Epistemological Model (REM) in enhancing students' qirā’ah comprehension. Method: This study employs a qualitative approach with an exploratory case study design. Data were collected through text-based comprehension tests using authentic materials, semi-structured interviews, structured observations, and classroom documentation. Thematic analysis results indicate that the REM is effective in identifying students’ conceptual representations, epistemic activities, and epistemic stances while reading Arabic texts. Results and Discussion: The main findings indicate that the majority of students are still at the stage of literal comprehension and have not yet fully activated inferential and reflective strategies in reading. The REM has potential as both a diagnostic and pedagogical framework for developing qirā’ah assessment, constructing authentic evaluation rubrics, and designing learning strategies based on deep meaning-making. Conclusions and Implications: Contains one to two important sentences. This section provides a conclusion about the results of the research and what these results mean for us today, as well as the implications of the suggested research results for future research on the topic.

Abstract

Islamic education in the 2nd century Hijriyah played a crucial role in shaping the sustainable Islamic educational system that continues to this day. During this period, prominent Muslim scholars such as Abu Hanifah, Malik bin Anas, and Al-Shafi’i formulated educational concepts based on the Qur'an and Sunnah, which later developed in educational institutions such as halaqah and early madrasas. This study aims to analyze the relevance of Islamic educational theories from the 2nd century Hijriyah in the development of contemporary education systems. Using a qualitative approach based on literature studies, this research examines the educational principles applied in that era and their contributions to modern learning systems. The findings indicate that key principles, such as value-based education, interactive discussion methods, and the integration of religious and secular sciences, remain relevant to contemporary educational challenges. This article contributes by linking the history of Islamic educational thought with the demands of a more holistic and value-based modern education system.

Abstract

Learning Arabic in Indonesia presents its own challenges, particularly in the context of globalization, which demands that students not only master linguistic aspects but also possess a strong cultural identity and character. This article discusses the application of the Nusantara cultural approach and character education in Arabic language learning as a strategy to foster contextual language skills while shaping students' personalities. The Nusantara cultural approach is considered relevant because it connects Arabic language material with values, traditions, and local wisdom that are close to students' lives. Meanwhile, character education is an important foundation in developing religious attitudes, discipline, responsibility, and tolerance in the learning process. This community service uses a qualitative approach by examining learning practices, interviews with educators, and documentation of activities through educational seminars. The results of the activities indicate that the integration of Nusantara culture in Arabic language learning can increase students' motivation, contextual understanding, and connection to the material. Furthermore, the internalization of character values makes Arabic language learning not only focus on mastering language skills but also on developing a personality with noble morals. This article recommends the development of an Arabic language learning model that integrates technology, Nusantara culture, and educational character as an effort to create learning that is more meaningful, contextual, and relevant to the needs of students in the modern era.ABSTRAKPembelajaran bahasa Arab di Indonesia memiliki tantangan tersendiri, terutama dalam konteks globalisasi yang menuntut peserta didik tidak hanya menguasai aspek linguistik, tetapi juga memiliki identitas budaya dan karakter yang kuat. Abstract

Aptitude Treatment Interaction (ATI) is used as a learning method that treats differences in student abilities; this is considered appropriate for Nahwu learning. The purpose of this study is to elaborate on Nahwu's learning activities using Aptitude Treatment Interaction (ATI) through the involvement of lecturers and students. This study uses a qualitative approach; the participants are non-Arabic speaking Nahwu students in Indonesia, totaling 40 students. Data collection techniques are using observation, structured interviews, and using questionnaires. The results showed that there were implications for the use of Aptitude Treatment Interaction (ATI) in learning motivation, as indicated by an increase in scores on the evaluation of students' Nahwu understanding abilities and perceptions that showed a good assessment of this method. The recommendation of this research is the preparation of teaching materials based on Aptitude Treatment Interaction (ATI) for Nahwu learning that can be done at universities in Indonesia.
