Abstract

Social studies is known as boring and lazy learning because there are history lessons whose form cannot be seen directly. Therefore, visual learning media is needed which is assumed to be able to help teachers in social studies learning. This research was conducted to analyze the use of visual media in social studies learning. This research uses library methods to collect data and information related to identifying articles, books and supporting documents which are then analyzed. The research results show that utilizing visual media can help students develop visual abilities. Besides that, visual media is a learning tool that can develop students' imagination in learning activities. Thus, this research illustrates the use of visual media as a learning medium that can help students improve their mastery of events that are impossible to present in the classroom, such as social studies learning.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Canva-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) designed to improve the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students in Social Studies instruction. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, the study follows the ADDIE model—Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects comprised 20 fifth-grade students at SD BK Maranatha, Sigi Regency. Data collection instruments included expert validation sheets, critical thinking tests, and student response questionnaires. Expert validation results indicated that the LKPD was highly feasible, with an average score of 83.5%. Limited trials revealed a significant improvement in students' critical thinking abilities, with an N-Gain score of 0.73, categorized as moderate to high. Student responses showed a high level of interest, with a score of 83.92%. These findings suggest that the Canva-based LKPD is feasible, engaging, and effective for enhancing critical thinking in Social Studies learning.

Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 004 Bagan Besar Dumai through the application of a direct teaching model. The subjects of the study were students of class V B at SD Negeri 004 Bagan Besar Dumai, totaling 27 students, consisting of 16 male students and 11 female students. The parameters measured in this study included students’ learning outcomes, student activities, learning mastery, and teacher activities. The results showed that the average student learning absorption based on the daily test in cycle I reached 82.03, which was categorized as good, and increased in cycle II to an average of 93.86, categorized as very good. Individual student learning mastery in cycle I reached 85.19%, and increased to 88.89% in cycle II. Student activity in cycle I reached an average of 72.62%, categorized as sufficient, and increased in cycle II to 77.41%. Teacher activity in cycle I reached an average of 90%, categorized as good, and increased to 100% in cycle II, categorized as very good. It can be concluded that the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 004 Bagan Besar Dumai can be improved through the application of the direct teaching model.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                            Edukasi literasi digital untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran penggunaan  teknologi yang bijak pada siswa SMPN 3 Keruak. bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital dan menumbuhkan kesadaran penggunaan teknologi yang bijak pada siswa SMPN 3 Keruak.  Mitra sasaran dalam kegiatan ini adalah seluruh siswa SMPN 3 Keruak dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 174 orang, terdiri dari 88 siswa laki-laki dan 86 siswa perempuan dengan rentang usia 11–15 tahun. Kegiatan dilaksanakan oleh tim PLP II KKN-Dik Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah interaktif yang dipadukan dengan diskusi serta evaluasi melalui wawancara terhadap lima siswa sampel. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa siswa memahami manfaat gadget dalam mendukung pembelajaran dan komunikasi, sekaligus menyadari potensi bahaya seperti kecanduan, cyberbullying, dan judi online. Secara kualitatif, siswa mampu mengemukakan strategi pencegahan, antara lain membatasi waktu penggunaan, memblokir akun mencurigakan, dan melibatkan guru maupun orang tua. Secara kuantitatif, keterlibatan siswa mencapai 174 peserta dengan partisipasi aktif pada sesi diskusi dan tanya jawab. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa edukasi literasi digital mampu meningkatkan kesadaran siswa untuk menggunakan teknologi secara lebih bijak, aman, dan bertanggung jawab.Kata kunci: Literasi Digital; Siswa SMP; Kesadaran Penggunaan Teknologi ABSTRACTThe development of digital technology has brought both positive impacts and serious challenges for teenagers, especially junior high school students. Issues such as gadget addiction, cyberbullying, social media abuse, non-verbal sexual harassment, and the rise of online gambling are issues that require special attention. Based on these conditions, this community service activity aims to improve digital literacy and foster awareness of wise technology use among students at SMPN 3 Keruak. The target partners in this activity are all students of SMPN 3 Keruak, with a total of 174 participants, consisting of 88 male students and 86 female students aged 11–15 years. The activity was carried out by the PLP II KKN-Dik team from Muhammadiyah University Mataram through three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The method used was interactive lectures combined with discussions and evaluation through interviews with five sample students. The results of the activity showed that students understood the benefits of gadgets in supporting learning and communication, while also realizing the potential dangers such as addiction, cyberbullying, and online gambling. Qualitatively, students were able to suggest prevention strategies, including limiting usage time, blocking suspicious accounts, and involving teachers and parents. Quantitatively, student involvement reached 174 participants with active participation in discussion and question-and-answer sessions. This activity proves that digital literacy education can increase students' awareness to use technology more wisely, safely, and responsibly.  Keywords: Digital Literacy; Junior High School Students; Community Service; Using of Technology

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of learning interest on the history learning outcomes of students at SMAS Al-Khairaat Kalukubula. The method used is quantitative with an explanatory design. Data were collected through a learning interest questionnaire and documentation of history midterm exam scores. The results of simple linear regression analysis show that learning interest has a significant effect on history learning outcomes, with a coefficient of determination of 86.4%. The conclusion of this study confirms that learning interest is a dominant factor supporting the improvement of student learning outcomes in history subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the role of parental support on learning interest in social studies at SMP Negeri 10 Palu. To determine the influence of what form of parental support is perceived by students on learning interest in social studies at SMP Negeri 10 Palu. This population consists of all 5 classes of class VIII. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques use interview and documentation processes. Based on the results of the study, the most influential form of maternal support on students' learning interest at SMP Negeri 10 Palu includes emotional support, motivational support, learning facilities, and loving supervision. Each form of support has a different impact, but all contribute to fostering learning interest. This support creates a pleasant learning atmosphere and makes children feel appreciated.

Abstract

The objectives to be achieved in this research are to find out how the regulation regarding the level of compliance with turning on the motorcycle headlights during the day and how the effectiveness of the motorcycle headlights obligation during the day reduces the number of motorcycle accidents. The research method used is an empirical legal research method called field research, by interviewing informants and knowing respondents' perceptions which are then compared to conclude. The study results show the regulation regarding compliance with turning on the motorcycle headlights and how the effectiveness of the motorcycle's headlight obligation during the day reduces the number of motorcycle accidents. Based on the results of research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that, in Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transport Article 107 paragraph (2) regarding compliance with turning on the leading lights during the day for two-wheeled drivers to reduce the number of accidents in the jurisdiction of the City Police. Banjarmasin is ineffective even though the number of compliance violations with turning on the leading lights during the day for two-wheelers is decreasing.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to design a culture-based learning model using audiovisual media to enhance historical understanding and pedagogical competence among prospective history teachers at Tadulako UniversityMethodology – The research employed a qualitative Research and Development (R&D) approach integrated with cyclical Classroom Action Research (CAR). The process consisted of five stages: needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were gathered through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The main outputs included short documentaries, narrative podcasts, microlearning videos, and digital archives rooted in Central Sulawesi’s local culture. Data were analyzed thematically and validated through triangulation and peer review.Findings – The results show that integrating audiovisual media into culture-based learning significantly improved students’ motivation, engagement, and historical thinking—particularly in evidence analysis, continuity and change, and perspective-taking. Authentic assessment confirmed that most student projects met standards of historical accuracy, multimedia coherence, and ethical cultural representation. Technical disparities were mitigated through peer mentoring, shared resources, and ethical consultation with local communities.Contribution – The study contributes theoretically by integrating culture-based learning, multimedia principles, and historical thinking into a contextual pedagogical framework. Practically, it enhances teacher candidates’ cultural, digital, and pedagogical literacy and offers a replicable model for history education innovation in resource-limited settings.

Abstract

This study investigates the strategies teachers employ to shape students’ character and enhance social attitudes at Tsanawiyah Alkhairaat Madrasahs in Ampibabo District. The background of this research lies in the urgency of character education in developing students who are not only intellectually capable but also socially responsible and morally grounded. The study aims to describe in depth how teachers plan, implement, and evaluate learning processes that integrate moral and social values through Social Studies (IPS) instruction. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation at MTs Alkhairaat Ampibabo and MTs Alkhairaat Sidole. The findings reveal that teachers’ strategies effectively foster students’ social attitudes when they combine interactive methods, moral modeling, and school culture. At MTs Alkhairaat Ampibabo, teachers apply group discussions, collaborative projects, and social activities to strengthen empathy, cooperation, and responsibility. Meanwhile, teachers at MTs Alkhairaat Sidole emphasize exemplary behavior and positive routines rooted in religious and disciplinary values. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ social behaviors, such as mutual respect, cooperation, and social responsibility. The study concludes that successful character formation requires consistency among classroom learning, school environment, and family involvement. The implication of this research highlights the importance of integrating character education strategies into every aspect of teaching practice to cultivate socially aware and morally upright students.

Abstract

The objective of this research aims to inestigate the transformativeleadership of school principal paradigm in developing the religious and social character of students at SMA Model Palu, Central Sulawesi. This research uses qualitative proposed by Bogdan dan Taylor. The technique of data analysis uses Miles and Huberman qualitative data analysis. The results indicate that, first, transformativeleadership of school principal paradigm is able to build commitment and cooperativeness in making changes, development, and improvement of the learning quality, management of educational quality administration that produces outstanding students. Second, it is able to develop a religious and social culture in changing the thinking and attitude paradigm of students who are obedience to God, honest, sincere, and have a social character in developing the students’ attitudes on cooperativeness, cooperation, brotherhood, empathy, and tolerance. The development of religious and social personalities is carried out in an integrated manner through curricular and extra-curricular activities
