Abstract

Problems that occur in mathematics learning are essential to pay attention to. Problems in mathematics learning are problems that must be resolved with the right solution. This research aims to conduct a literature review on mathematics learning problems in schools. The method used in the study is a literature review. The sample used is the research results related to mathematics learning problems at the elementary, junior high, high, and college levels from student and teacher factors. Data was collected by collecting all published articles from the latest year according to educational level. Then, analysis and conclusions are drawn based on the data obtained. The research results show that the problems found at each station are different. So, the solution used must be the problems faced.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of mathematical critical thinking skills for students, as well as the rapid development of information technology in the digital era. This study specifically aims to improve students' mathematical critical thinking skills through the application of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media with 3D unity that can be used in online learning and offline learning based on Initial Mathematical Ability (IMA). Augmented Reality is a technology that combines three-dimensional virtual objects into a real environment and then projects these virtual objects in real-time. While the initial mathematical ability is one of the factors that influence the learning of mathematics, the higher the initial mathematical ability of a student, the better the level of the student's mathematical critical thinking ability. This research is quantitative research (quasi-experimental), while the research subjects are students at one of Pekanbaru's state junior high schools class VII for the academic year 2022/2023, as many as 30 students who are randomly selected by the class. This research was conducted on the material of flat shapes, especially triangles and quadrilaterals. The data collection method used was a mathematical critical thinking ability test. The test result data was processed by statistical tests, including a normality test, homogeneity test and two-way ANOVA test. The results showed that the improvement of mathematical critical thinking skills of students who received learning using augmented reality media with Unity 3D was better than the improvement of mathematical critical thinking skills of students who received conventional learning based on students' initial mathematical abilities.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the importance of Computational Thinking (CT) ability for students to get a better thinking and problem solving abilities. The purpose of the study describes the students' CT ability in terms of their Prior Mathematical Knowledge (PMK). The subjects of this study were 6 junior high school students consisting of 2 students who had a high prior mathematical knowledge, 2 students who had a medium prior mathematical knowledge, and 2 students who had a low prior mathematical knowledge. The selection of subjects was not randomly selected. The method of research used was descriptive qualitative, where the data presented were deepened by interviews. Furthermore, the instruments used were test and non-test. In this case, the CT test was used to determine students' CT ability in terms of their prior mathematical knowledge, while the non-test in the form of interviews was used to find out the reasons for their test answers. The results of this study indicate that students who had a high prior mathematical knowledge were able to meet the CT mathematical indicators well. Furthermore, students who had a medium prior mathematical knowledge were able to meet several mathematical CT indicators, while students who had a low prior mathematical knowledge cannot fulfill mathematical CT indicators well.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the research landscape regarding Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) which is related to learning outcomes, using the bibliometric analysis method. The data used comes from the Scopus database. After going through the four stages of the process (identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion), 41 relevant data were obtained. The results showed that the most publications related to TPACK and learning outcomes occurred in 2022 with a total of 6 publications. Meanwhile, the most cited publication occurred in 2017 with 267 citations. The United States has had a major influence on TPACK research and study outcomes. The research focus is divided into three main parts, namely 1) engineering and curriculum; 2) teaching and student; and 3) technology integration. Several new themes in this field include self-regulation, children learning, self-assessment, teaching strategies, learning activities and educational computing. However, the TPACK keywords which were the most dominant in the three research focuses were not directly connected with the three new theme keywords, namely self-regulation, children learning, and teaching strategies. By understanding the trends and research focus related to TPACK and learning outcomes, researchers and education practitioners can obtain useful guidance for developing innovative and effective teaching strategies, as well as designing curricula that match students' learning needs. Keywords: bibliometric, learning outcomes, TPACK
