Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of learning with guided inquiry approach in term of mathematical concepts understanding, and to find out with approach is more effective between learning with guided inquiry approach and ordinary learning in term of mathematical concepts understanding. This research was quasi-experimental research study whose population covered all grade VIII students of SMP Unggulan Aisyiyah Bantul. Class VIII Hafshah and VIII Hawa were established as the sample. Class VIII Hawa as an experimental class was taught with guided inquiry approach. Class VIII Hafshah as a control class was taught with ordinary learning. The results of the study at a significance level of 5%, shows that the learning with guided inquiry approach and ordinary learning was effective in term of mathematical concept understanding. Learning with guided inquiry approach was more effective than ordinary learning in term of mathematical concept understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning kit of geometry for Indonesian vocational schools, grade X based on the multiple intelligence theory. This research and development used the 4D model suggested by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel (1974) consisting of four stages that are: define, design, development, and disseminate. The data were analyzed by converting the actual scores obtained into a qualitative five category scale. The effectivity was analyzed by determining the percentage of students’ who completed a test and the percentage of students in each category as collected by the questionnaires. The Lesson Plan and worksheets were found to be valid. The results showed that the Lesson Plan and worksheet were practical based on the result of implementation, teacher’s assessment and students’ assessment. Furthermore, the Lesson Plan and worksheet were regarded as effective as reported by the students’ increasing achievement of spiritual attitudes, social attitudes, and knowledge competences. However, in terms of skill competences, the Lesson Plan and worksheet were not effective.

Abstract

This paper reports a quasi-experimental study with one group pre-test post-test design on promoting mathematical literacy using guided inquiry method. As one of the important education goals globally, mathematical literacy focuses on a concrete dimension with context and content to be studied. A total of 32 secondary school students of class VIII participated as a sample and 192 students as a population in the study. Students' mathematical literacy was measured by using an essay test. The students' responses were analysed and compared using paired sample t-Test. It was found that the guided inquiry method successfully promotes students' mathematical literacy as indicated by the result of paired sample t-test values of significance (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, the guided inquiry can be used as an alternative learning method to improve students' mathematical literacy.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh persepsi pada kreativitas terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif; pengaruh disposisi matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Metode statistika yang digunakan adalah analisis jalur. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari persepsi pada kreativitas terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif; terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan disposisi matematis terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis; terdapat pengaruh tidak langsung dari persepsi pada kreativitas terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis.AbstractThis study aimed to examine the effect on the perception of creativity to the creative thinking abilities; the effect of the disposition of mathematical and creative thinking abilities to mathematical problem solving ability. Statistical method used is path analysis. The test results indicate that there is significant influence of perception on the creativity of the creative thinking abilities; significant influence on the ability to think creatively and mathematical disposition towards mathematical problem solving ability; There are no direct influence on the perception of the creativity of the mathematical problem solving ability.

Abstract

This community service is aimed at introducing realistic mathematics learning approach in elementary school and training of teachers to develop creative and meaningful mathematics learning media with Islamic context. This activity takes the form of training to deepen the learning materials and develop the Islamic context in the learning of mathematics. The technical steps in this activity are explanation and discussion about the importance of paying attention to the child's cognitive development stage in implementing the learning to be meaningful for the students. The next stage is an explanation and discussion of realistic mathematics learning approaches and appropriate learning media that use meaningful daily context for students. Furthermore, a workshop was held to develop realistic learning media with an Islamic context. Based on the observation and discussion with the participants it can be concluded that the participants enthusiastically attend the training. Participants also identified and acquired new ideas to develop realistic elementary-based mathematics learning media with an Islamic context. Such media is expected to motivate students to learn mathematics because it uses approach and learning media meaningful for students.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses penalaran aljabar siswa sebagai hasil dari pelaksanaan pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) dalam pembelajaran matematika.  Jenis penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian 3 orang siswa yang diambil dari 27 siswa kelas VII B SMP N  2 Ambarawa. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran aljabar siswa sesuai dengan indikator dan tingkat level penalaran siswa pada pembelajaran matematika. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika menggunakan model (PBL) tingkat kemampuan penalaran aljabar siswa pada kemampuan tinggi mampu mengenal pola, mencari pola, dan menggeneralisasikan pola. Siswa kemampuan sedang tidak dapat menggeneralisasikan pola tetapi mampu mengenal dan mencari pola. Siswa kemampuan rendah hanya mampu mengenal pola.AbstractThis research aims to describe the process of students’ algebraic reasoning as result the implementation of problem based learning (PBL) in mathematics learning. This type of research is using qualitative methods with 3 students' research subjects drawn from 27 students of class VII B junior high school N 2 Ambarawa. The data was analyzed by describing students' algebraic reasoning skills according to indicators and the level of reasoning of students in math learning. Data collection techniques are carried out with observation, test and documentation. The results of this study showed that mathematical learning using models (PBL) levels of algebraic reasoning ability students at high ability are able to recognize patterns, look for patterns, and generalize patterns. Students of moderate ability are unable to generalize patterns but are able to recognize and search for patterns. Low-ability students are only able to recognize patterns.

Abstract

Bioethanol produced from agricultural sources is one alternative energy that has been developed to substitute for petroleum. However, the use of food sources such as corn and cassava to produce bioethanol still face obstacles that lead to the scarcity of food and an increase in food prices. The aim of this study was to produce bioethanol from sorghum and iles-iles, which are not used by humans as food, especially in Indonesia. For both materials, the variables studied were saccharification time (4, 8, 24, and 48 h) and concentration of CaCl2 added to the liquefaction slurry (0, 100, 200, 300, and 400 mg/L). The bioethanol was produced by enzymatic hydrolysis, which consists of liquefaction usinga-amylase at 1.6% v/w (t = 1 h; T = 95-100 °C; pH 6) and saccharification of the liquefaction slurry by using b- amylase at 3.2% v/w (t = various; T = 60 °C; pH 5) and fermentation by Saccharomyces cerevisiae (t = 120 hours; pH 4, 5; yeast 5g). The best conditions were obtained for sorghum at saccharification t = 24 h, which resulted in the highest ethanol yield, 91.5 g/L, and for iles-iles at t = 48 h, which yielded 107.1 g/L. The optimum amount of CaCl2 to be added was 200mg/L, which resulted in the highest ethanol yield, 98.5 g/L and 92.4 g/L for sorghum and iles-iles, respectively. This results shows that sorghum and iles-iles are promising raw materials for the production of bioethanol, since they produce it in large amounts.

Abstract

AbstrakPembelajaran matematika di sekolah menuntut siswa untuk memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah non-rutin. Masalah-masalah non-rutin dapat menggalih dan mengembangkan aspek-aspek penting dalam HOTS, namun belum ada metode penyelesaiannya. Pemecahan masalah non-rutin penting diberikan kepada siswa agar siswa mampu berpikir kritis, logis, reflektif, metakognitif, dan kreatif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk mengembangakan LKPD berorientasi HOTS untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah non-rutin siswa yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Model penelitian menggunakan tahapan pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). Subjek penelitian berjumlah 34 siswa SMP Negeri 7 Yogyakarta. Instrumen penelitian meliputi angket validasi ahli materi dan media, angket respon siswa dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah non-rutin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas LKPD dilihat dari aspek kevalidan masuk kriteria sangat baik dengan rata-rata skor 4,4 dari ahli materi dan rata-rata skor 4,79 dari ahli media. Hasil angket respon siswa terhadap LKPD dilihat dari aspek kepraktisan masuk kriteria sangat baik dengan rata-rata skor 4,46 pada ujicoba skala kecil dan rata-rata skor 4,5 pada ujicoba skala besar. Hasil analisis tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah non-rutin dilihat dari aspek keefektifan memperoleh rata-rata skor 87,75 dengan kriteria sangat baik. Sehingga disimpulkan LKPD berorientasi HOTS yang dikembangkan dapat memfasilitasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah non-rutin siswa.AbstractLearning mathematics in schools requires students to have non-routine problem-solving abilities. Non-routine problems can overturn and develop important aspects of HOTS, but there is no method of solving them yet. Important non-routine problem solving is given to students so that students are able to think critically, logically, reflectively, metacognitively, and creatively. This research is a development research that aims to develop HOTS-oriented LKPD to facilitate students' valid, practical and effective non-routine problem solving skills. The research model uses the stages of ADDIE (Analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation) development.  The subjects of the study were 34 students of SMP Negeri 7 Yogyakarta. Research instruments include material and media expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires and non-routine problem-solving ability tests. The results showed that the quality of LKPD was seen from the aspect of validity of entering the criteria very well with an average score of 4.4 from material experts and an average score of 4.79 from media experts. The results of the questionnaire of student responses to LKPD were seen from the aspect of practicality of entering the criteria very well with an average score of 4.46 in small-scale trials and an average score of 4.5 in large-scale trials. The results of the analysis of non-routine problem-solving ability tests seen from the aspect of effectiveness obtained an average score of 87.75 with excellent criteria. So it is concluded that the HOTS-oriented LKPD developed can facilitate students' non-routine problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep matematika merupakan landasan berpikir dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Selain kemampuan memahami konsep, ­self-efficacy merupakan faktor penting dalam pembelajaran matematika. Siswa dengan ­self-efficacy yang baik akan memiliki inisiasi yang baik untuk mempelajari keyakinannya sendiri, sehingga lebih siap selama pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran peluang berupa rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) dan lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS) berbasis discovery learning berorientasi pada kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan self-efficacy. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan mengacu model ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Subjek uji coba yaitu 30 siswa kelas VIII F SMP ARNOLDUS Labuan Bajo. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar validasi, lembar penilaian kepraktisan, angket respon siswa, lembar observasi pembelajaran, soal tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep, dan angket self-efficacy. Penelitian ini menghasilkan RPP dan LKS dengan karakteristik: (1) kegiatan pembelajaran mengacu pada karakteristik discovery learning yakni pembelajaran aktif, (2) mengacu pada langkah discovery learning, yaitu perumusan masalah, eksplorasi, pengajuan dugaan, verifikasi, dan konfirmasi, dan (3) berorientasi pada kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan self-efficacy. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Understanding mathematical concepts are the foundation of thinking in solving mathematical problems. In addition to the ability to understand the concept, self-efficacy is an important factor in learning mathematics. A student with self-efficacy a good person will have a good initiation to learning his own beliefs so that he is better prepared during the lesson. This study aims to produce opportunity learning tools in the form of learning implementation plans (RPP) and student activity sheets (LKS) based on discovery learning oriented to the ability to understand mathematical concepts and self-efficacy. This type of research is development research referring to the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The test subjects were 30 class VIII F SMP ARNOLDUS Labuan Bajo. The research instruments included validation sheets, practicality assessment sheets, student response questionnaires, learning observation sheets, concept comprehension ability test questions, and questionnaire self-efficacy. This study produced lesson plans and worksheets with the following characteristics: (1) learning activities refer to the characteristics of discovery learning namely active learning, (2) refers to steps of discovery learning, namely problem formulation, exploration, submission of conjectures, verification, and confirmation, and (3) oriented to the ability to understand mathematical concepts and self-efficacy. The developed learning tools meet the valid, practical, and effective criteria.

Abstract

Kesalahan pemilihan model pembelajaran oleh guru menyebabkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan minat belajar rendah. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan adalah Creative Problem Solving. Model CPS dapat dipadukan dengan video pembelajaran yang kontennya dibuat dengan GeoGebra untuk memudahkan memahami materi geometri. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran CPS berbantuan video pembelajaran dan GeoGebra ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan minat belajar siswa pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Penelitian quasi exp erimen ini menggunakan pretest-posttest group design  dengan sampel siswa kelas VIII salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Sleman. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran CPS berbantuan video pembelajaran dan GeoGebra, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran CPS. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif, angket minat belajar dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Statistik uji yang digunakan yaitu One Sample T-Test dan Independent Sample T-Test dengan taraf signifikansi 5% menggunakan IBM SPSS Statistic versi 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa model pembelajaran CPS berbantuan video pembelajaran dan GeoGebra efektif baik ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kreatif maupun minat belajar siswa, sedangkan model pembelajaran CPS efektif hanya ditinjau dari minat belajar siswa. Model pembelajaran CPS berbantuan video pembelajaran dan GeoGebra lebih efektif dari model pembelajaran CPS baik ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kreatif maupun minat belajar.Kata Kunci: CPS, video, GeoGebra, kreatif, minat
