Abstract

Kebijakan formalisasi Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) melalui platform digital nasional menghadapi paradoks implementasi di tingkat perdesaan, di mana keterbatasan literasi digital menjadi penghalang utama. Tujuan program adalah meningkatkan kesadaran UMKM mengenai pentingnya Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB), Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga (P-IRT), dan Sertifikasi Halal, serta memberikan pendampingan teknis langsung dalam proses pendaftarannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan partisipatif yang dikombinasikan dengan pendampingan teknis intensif. Hasilnya, program ini berhasil memfasilitasi penerbitan NIB bagi 11 UMKM peserta dengan tingkat keberhasilan 100% dan menginisiasi proses pengurusan P-IRT serta Sertifikasi Halal. Keberhasilan ini menunjukkan bahwa model intervensi high-touch yang menempatkan mahasiswa sebagai "perangkat lunak manusia" (human middleware) merupakan strategi efektif untuk mengakselerasi adopsi kebijakan digital di tingkat akar rumput.

Abstract

Lansia merupakan kelompok rentan yang sering menghadapi masalah kesehatan seperti hiperurisemia akibat tingginya kadar asam urat, yang berisiko menurunkan kualitas hidup. Rendahnya pengetahuan lansia mengenai kondisi ini serta minimnya pemanfaatan pangan fungsional, seperti black garlic, menjadi isu penting yang perlu ditangani. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesehatan lansia melalui edukasi hiperurisemia dan implementasi suplementasi black garlic di Posyandu Lansia Istiqomah Purwokerto. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan 92 lansia dan 20 kader posyandu, meliputi pemeriksaan kadar asam urat, penyuluhan kesehatan, serta pelatihan pembuatan black garlic menggunakan peralatan sederhana. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan 57 lansia memiliki kadar asam urat tinggi, sementara 35 dalam kategori normal. Program ini meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, serta mendorong terbentuknya pranata sosial baru berupa forum edukasi dan praktik kesehatan. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan kesehatan lansia sekaligus pemberdayaan komunitas secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Introduction: Hyperuricemia is a significant risk factor for the development of chronic kidney disease. Excessive uric acid can deposit in the kidneys, triggering inflammatory reactions and oxidative stress, leading to structural damage in the glomeruli. Black garlic, with its antioxidant and bioactive compounds, has the potential to protect the kidneys from hyperuricemia-induced damage. Our objective is to evaluate the effect of black garlic supplementation on the histopathological features of glomeruli in a hyperuricemic rat model. Methods: This study was an analytical observational study using Biological Remnant Materials (BRM) from a previous study. The sample consisted of 30 male Sprague-Dawley rats divided into 5 groups: disease control, drug control (allopurinol), and 3 black garlic dose groups (240 mg/day, 480 mg/day, and 960 mg/day). Data were collected through histopathological examination of kidney tissue using the glomerular damage scoring method (0-3). Data analysis was performed using one-way ANOVA and post hoc LSD tests. Results: Black garlic demonstrated protective effects on the histopathological features of glomeruli in hyperuricemic rats. The 240 mg/day dose showed the most significant improvement in kidney health, reducing glomerular damage scores compared to the disease control group (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that black garlic can serve as a preventive agent against kidney complications caused by hyperuricemia. Conclusion: Black garlic provides protective effects on glomerular histopathology in hyperuricemic rats, with the 240 mg/day dose being the most effective. These results suggest potential use for black garlic in preventing kidney complications in hyperuricemia.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes has become a significant global health problem, particularly burdening low-income countries economically. Innovative and integrated digital solutions can help reduce the impact of diabetes and improve the quality of care. However, virtual reality (VR) digital solutions have never been applied in Gorontalo. This study aims to demonstrate the novel integrated effect of diabetes health literacy, self-efficacy, physical activity, and HbA1c blood sugar control. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with two intervention groups was conducted in Indonesian from October to December 2024. For the first time, researchers trained the intervention group to use virtual reality. Results: This study demonstrated that both intervention groups, Virtual Reality (VR) and WhatsApp (WA), showed significant improvements in knowledge (p < 0.0001) and self-efficacy (p < 0.0001) post-intervention. Physical activity also significantly increased in both groups (p < 0.0001). Moreover, a significant reduction in HbA1c levels was observed in the VR group (median reduction 1.36%, p = 0.0005) and the WA group (mean reduction 0.67%, p = 0.0002). Comparatively, VR was more effective in improving self-efficacy (Post-VR median = 58.00 vs. Post-WA = 54.00; p < 0.0001), while WA was more effective in increasing physical activity (Post-WA median = 1824 MET-minutes/week vs. Post-VR = 953.3 MET-minutes/week; p = 0.0006) and reducing HbA1c levels (Post-WA median = 9.05% vs. Post-VR = 10.70%; p = 0.0049). No significant difference was found between groups in knowledge improvement. Conclusion: As this intervention yielded significant improvements in self-management among T2DM patients, researchers recommend that policy-makers replicate this intervention as a national program and promote increased use of digital devices (VR) to enhance health literacy, self-efficacy, physical activity, and clinical outcomes (HbA1c) in T2DM management.

Abstract

Nausea and vomiting during pregnancy are common occurrences in the first trimester. This can be attributed to an increase in estrogen and progesterone hormones produced by human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the placenta. Various therapies can be employed as antiemetics in pregnant women, and one of them is traditional therapy involving the administration of ginger extract. This research design uses a literature review methodology, gathering data from international and national journals that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The databases utilized include Google Scholar, PubMed, and Garuda. To understand the effectiveness of ginger extract administration as an antiemetic in pregnant women. The methodology employed is a literature review, utilizing the Google Scholar database to search for articles published between 2013 and 2023 in both Indonesian and English languages. Ginger can reduce nausea and vomiting by modulating gastrointestinal effects such as smooth muscle contractions and stimulating gastric motility. It inhibits 5-HT3 receptors in the central nervous system, hampers carminative effects, reduces cisplatin effects, and has effects similar to dimenhydrinate. Administering ginger infusion twice a day for 4-7 days has shown a decrease in the occurrence of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. Additionally, ginger aromatherapy with 5 ml for four consecutive days can reduce the incidence of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women with hyperemesis gravidarum. Ginger extract can reduce nausea and vomiting in pregnant women.

Abstract

Background: Surgical wound pain 24 hours after cesarean section is still a problem found in obstetric patients. Many drugs are used to reduce pain scores both orally, intravenously, transdermally and others. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the dosage of the drug so that it does not harm the postoperative patient. Other methods that can be used include preoperative administration of intrathecal morphine and administration of transversus abdominis muscle blocks. Methods :The study's experimental design uses a post-test only control group. Three groups were created from 108 cesarean patients who had no problems. As per standard protocol, the control group (K) had a cesarean section with intravenous analgesia after the procedure. The Intrathecal Morphine (M) group got preoperative intrathecal morphine in addition to the same treatment as the K group. Apart from receiving the same treatment as group K, the Transversus Abdominis Plane Block (B) group also underwent bilateral transversus abdominis muscle blocks guided by ultrasonography. SPSS for Windows Release 26.0 was used to process the data, and differences with a significance level of 0.05 were examined using the One-Way ANOVA test analysis and the Bonferroni Post Hoc test. Outcomes: Group B differed significantly from group K on the visual analogue scale (p value = 0.000). Similar results were obtained for Group M compared to Group K (p value = 0.000). Group B and group M differ significantly from one another, as can be shown, Compared to group M, group B's visual analogue scale is lower (p=0.000). Conclusion: Intrathecal morphine and transversus abdominis block are effective in reducing post-cesarean section pain. Obtained a lower pain score in the administration of transversus abdominis block compared to intrathecal morphine with a significant difference.

Abstract

Pakan adalah sebuah komponen utama dalam biaya produksi peternakan yang sering menjadi beban ekonomi bagi peternak, khususnya di wilayah pedesaan seperti Pucung Lor. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dibutuhkan inovasi pakan alternatif yang lebih ekonomis, mudah dibudidayakan, dan tetap memiliki nilai gizi yang tinggi. Azolla merupakan tanaman air yang memiliki protein tinggi dan tumbuh dengan cepat di air dan ramah lingkungan serta berpotensi sebagai pakan ternak mandiri. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan dan mengimplementasikan budidaya Azolla kepada kader PKK (Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga) Desa Pucung Lor untuk meningkatkan kemandirian pakan serta menekan biaya produksi. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dengan cara sosialisasi dan praktik budidaya Azolla. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukan bahwa Azolla dapat tumbuh dengan baik di lingkungan desa dan efektif digunakan sebagai pakan tambahan untuk berbagai jenis hewan ternak.

Abstract

Cancer was a leading cause of mortality worldwide and in Indonesia, with limited access to modern therapies and significant adverse effects associated with chemotherapy. The medicinal plant Physalis angulata L. was investigated as a potential alternative due to its cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory properties against cancer cells. This review aimed to evaluate evidence from studies examining the anticancer potential of isolated compounds from this plant. A systematic search was conducted using PubMed and ScienceDirect databases following PRISMA guidelines, focusing on in vitro studies published within the last ten years. Six studies met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were extracted based on plant parts, isolation methods, tested cell lines, and study outcomes using IC50 values. The results show that all studies produce withanolide fractions through extraction using polar to semi-polar solvents, followed by purification with various chromatographic techniques. The main compounds in Physalis angulata, particularly withanolides such as physalin and physagulide, exhibit moderate to strong anticancer activity across various cancer cell lines (IC₅₀ 0.18–21.75 μM) and demonstrate anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting iNOS and COX-2 production. Physalins increase reactive oxygen species, leading to mitochondrial damage and activation of apoptosis. Several compounds also inhibit key signaling pathways involved in cell survival, including MAPK, JAK/STAT3, Wnt/β-catenin, and Hedgehog pathways. The anti-inflammatory effects occur through inhibition of the NF-κB pathway, resulting in reduced expression of pro-inflammatory mediators. In conclusion, Physalis angulata L. shows promising anticancer and anti-inflammatory potential in vitro, supporting its development as a candidate for future therapeutic applications. Further studies are required to validate these findings in vivo and in clinical settings.

Abstract

Acne is an inflammatory disorder of the pilosebaceous unit in which Cutibacterium acnes may contribute to disease-associated inflammation. Increasing antimicrobial resistance has encouraged the exploration of medicinal plants as potential sources of antibacterial agents, including binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis). This study compared the in vitro antibacterial activity of 96% ethanol and ethyl acetate extracts of binahong leaves against C. acnes. A laboratory experimental study was conducted using 96% ethanol and ethyl acetate extracts at concentrations of 2%, 4%, and 6% w/v, with three replicates for each treatment. Antibacterial activity was assessed using a disk diffusion assay, with 1% Na-CMC and clindamycin 30 ppm as negative and positive controls, respectively. Inhibition zones were measured after incubation at 37 °C for 24 h. Data from the six extract groups were analyzed using two-way ANOVA followed by Tukey’s post hoc test. Both solvent type (p = 0.0002) and extract concentration (p < 0.001) significantly affected inhibition-zone diameter, whereas their interaction was not significant (p = 0.0878). Ethyl acetate extract produced larger inhibition zones than 96% ethanol extract at 4% and 6% concentrations (p = 0.017 for each comparison), whereas no significant difference was observed at 2% (p = 0.909). The largest inhibition zone among the extracts was observed with 6% ethyl acetate extract (18.33 ± 1.53 mm), although this remained lower than that of clindamycin (31.67 ± 0.58 mm). These findings indicate that ethyl acetate extract of binahong leaves has greater in vitro inhibitory activity against C. acnes than the 96% ethanol extract at higher concentrations tested. However, the findings should be considered preliminary and require confirmation using standardized anaerobic conditions, MIC/MBC determination, and chemical standardization of the extract.
