Abstract

This study examines the governance of village assets in Krayan Bahagia Village, Long Ikis District, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, with a particular focus on the implementation of the Village Asset Management Information System (SIPADES) 2.0 and 3.0. Despite its significant natural resource potential, especially in the plantation sector, the village faces various structural and institutional challenges that hinder optimal asset utilization. Through a qualitative descriptive approach involving document analysis and interviews with key informants, the study identifies several core issues, including limited technical capacity among village officials, low public awareness, weak supervision mechanisms, and the suboptimal use of digital platforms such as SIPADES. The findings reveal that although regulatory frameworks support transparency and accountability, village asset governance remains constrained by human resource limitations, inadequate digital infrastructure, and sociocultural barriers such as the lack of community participation in maintenance activities. This research contributes to the discourse on rural digital transformation by analyzing the intersection of institutional capacity, administrative technology, and participatory governance. It also offers practical policy recommendations, including technical training for village officials, public education on asset stewardship, and the development of an independent supervision system. The study highlights the urgent need for integrated strategies to enhance the effectiveness of village asset governance and ensure its contribution to inclusive and sustainable rural development.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of basic education quality improvement policies in Balikpapan City, a region known for its pivotal role in Indonesia’s oil industry, often referred to as an oil-rich area. The research aims to assess the effectiveness of the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (2021-2026) in addressing educational quality, considering the city's economic dependence on oil. Adopting a qualitative approach, the study focuses on the Department of Education and Culture in Balikpapan, engaging key informants to evaluate the efficacy of policy implementation. The analysis framework encompasses an evaluation of policy standards, resources, inter-organisational communication, and the characteristics of the implementing agencies. The findings reveal that, while considerable progress has been made in enhancing educational facilities and teacher competencies, challenges persist due to the city’s heavy reliance on the oil sector and its impact on local resources. Furthermore, the study explores the relationship between these challenges and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 (quality education) by addressing disparities in resource allocation and the city's limited capacity for economic diversification. The research recommends the integration of more diverse data sources, continuous monitoring, and deeper analysis of the social and economic impacts to further improve educational outcomes. Balikpapan's economic context, as an oil-dependent city, significantly influences its ability to implement and sustain effective educational policies, highlighting the necessity for balanced development strategies aligned with broader SDGs.

Abstract

AbstractCorporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept or action undertaken in the business or industrial world as a form of responsibility for surrounding communities' social and environmental well-being. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government plays a critical role in ensuring the sustainability of CSR programs by coal mining companies to enhance the quality of life for communities around mining areas. Through strategic policies, the provincial government integrates corporate CSR programs with regional development agendas to ensure that contributions from the mining industry sector have optimal and sustainable impacts. In fulfilling its role, the local government collaborates with various stakeholders to supervise, evaluate, and improve the implementation of CSR programs. The main focus is on improving infrastructure, education, health, and local economic empowerment. Additionally, the provincial government also acts as a mediator between the companies and the community, ensuring that the aspirations and needs of the community are accommodated in each program implemented. Thus, the role of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government is crucial in creating synergy between industrial growth and the welfare of local communities, facilitating an inclusive and sustainable socio-economic transformation in the coal mining region. Keywords: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), East Kalimantan Provincial Government, Supervision and Evaluation.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of ecological messages from the Qur’an and Hadith into primary school education as a means to foster ecological awareness and character in young learners. Amidst the global environmental crisis, early education plays a pivotal role in shaping values and behaviors that support sustainability. While environmental themes are present in Indonesia’s primary curriculum, they often lack spiritual grounding. Islam offers rich theological and ethical foundations for environmental care, such as the prohibition of corruption (fasād), the role of humans as stewards (khalifah), the importance of balance (mīzān), and commands for cleanliness. This qualitative research utilizes document analysis and content analysis to examine how these values can be contextualized in classroom practices. The findings reveal that the Qur’an and Hadith provide not only cognitive knowledge but also spiritual and moral imperatives that can be internalized through thematic learning, project-based activities, and character education. The Merdeka Curriculum and the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) enable cross-subject integration of Islamic ecological values in subjects like Islamic Education, Science, Social Studies, and Bahasa Indonesia. Teachers play a crucial role as value facilitators by modeling environmentally conscious behavior rooted in Islamic teachings. Furthermore, the involvement of families and communities enhances the educational impact, reinforcing that caring for the environment is an act of worship. This research contributes to the development of spiritually grounded environmental education strategies and highlights the potential of Islamic values to promote sustainable living from an early age.

Abstract

Abstract

The development of construction encourages increased development so as to create innovations in the development, one of which is used of road pavement materials which were originally dominated by asphalt, has now varied with paving blocks. Using waste as a mixture in making paving blocks is an alternative to creative and innovative products. In this case making paving blocks with brick waste, the waste increases along with the number of lightweight brick enthusiasts. The purpose article is to determine the strength value of paving blocks made from brick waste and tenggarong sand as a mixture of lightweight brick waste. The mixing ratio of cement and sand used was 1:6 with variations in the mixture of lightweight brick waste 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The tests carried out were water absorbtion and compressive strength. Data collection by testing in the laboratory on the materials used are sand tenggarong, cement three wheels and CLC lightweight brick waste. The results show that the most optimal percentage of the use of brick waste is at a percentage of 25% at the age of 28 days has a compressive strength value of 28.85 Mpa thus included in the quality of class B (parking lot). While the other percentages do not match between the compressive strength and the absorbtion value that has been determined. Research on compressive strength and water absorbtion of paving blocks can be the basis for further research such as testing the wear of paving blocks using brick waste as a mixture.

Abstract

Mining concession policies in Indonesia face serious challenges due to inconsistent norms, which are now complicated by profound ethical dimensions. This study analyses the vertical inconsistency between Government Regulation No. 25 of 2024, which prioritises mining concessions for religious organisations, and Law No. 3 of 2020, which limits such rights to state-owned enterprises, regional-owned enterprises, and private enterprises. Using normative legal research methods, the results of the study show that Article 83A paragraph (1) of PP No. 25 of 2024 adds a new norm that substantially contradicts the above law. More than just a legal issue, this policy raises crucial ethical questions. From an ethical perspective, granting this permit creates a conflict of interest for organisations that have historically played a role as moral and social guardians. The potential for abuse of authority and corruption also increases, undermining the principle of transparency. Furthermore, there are ethical concerns regarding the capacity and readiness of CSOs to manage extractive industries that pose high risks to the environment and society. Therefore, legal harmonisation is needed that not only guarantees certainty and justice, but also considers the broader ethical implications in order to prevent adverse social and environmental impacts.

Abstract

Seafarers are a highly mobile maritime workforce vulnerable to risky sexual behaviors and limited access to HIV/AIDS testing and counseling. The dynamic port environment, combined with social and behavioral factors, heightens the risk of HIV transmission. Objective : to synthesize research findings on individual, social, and structural factors influencing HIV/AIDS prevention behaviors among seafarers in various ports in Indonesia and abroad. Research Methods/ Implementation Methods : A Narrative Review was conducted using PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect databases for studies published from 2019 to 2025. Eligible studies included quantitative or qualitative research addressing risk factors, preventive behaviors, or access to HIV-related health services among seafarers. Studies focusing solely on technical shipping aspects were excluded. Twenty-six articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed descriptively Results : Risky behaviors among seafarers were shaped by individual (knowledge, attitude, condom use), social (peer support, influence of sex workers, docking duration, marital status), and structural factors (health service access, port policy, education). Condom use was the most dominant protective factor, while knowledge alone did not guarantee preventive behavior. Institutional and peer support promoted safe practices, but limited screening and counseling services at ports remained barriers. Cross-sector collaboration and free services supported better prevention outcomes Conclusion/Lesson Learned : Effective HIV/AIDS prevention among seafarers requires multidimensional interventions addressing behavioral, social, and policy aspects. Strengthening port health services, enhancing education, and expanding counseling and testing access are essential to reduce HIV risk in maritime populations

Abstract

This study is grounded in the limited number of comprehensive quantitative investigations that simultaneously analyze the relationships between teachers’ teaching styles and students’ self-efficacy and learning motivation in primary education institutions. The study aims to: (1) examine the correlation between teachers’ teaching styles and learning motivation; (2) examine the correlation between students’ self-efficacy and learning motivation; (3) determine the simultaneous relationship of teachers’ teaching styles and students’ self-efficacy with learning motivation; and (4–5) assess the partial relationships of each independent variable with learning motivation after controlling for the other variable. This correlational quantitative research was conducted at SDN Sungai Raya 1 from September to November 2025, involving 63 students in Grades 4–6 selected through total sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through prerequisite tests (normality, linearity, and multicollinearity), Pearson correlation, multiple linear regression, and first-order partial correlation with SPSS 25. The results indicate that the data are normally distributed, the relationships among variables are linear, and no multicollinearity is present. Correlational analysis shows that teachers’ teaching styles are positively and significantly associated with learning motivation (r = 0.524; p = 0.000), as is students’ self-efficacy (r = 0.522; p = 0.000). Simultaneously, both variables explain 36.7% of the variance in learning motivation (R² = 0.367; Sig. F = 0.000). First-order partial correlation analysis controlling for the other predictor confirms significant contributions, with partial r for teachers’ teaching styles (X1) = 0.359 (p = 0.004) and partial r for students’ self-efficacy (X2) = 0.355 (p = 0.005). These findings demonstrate that teachers’ teaching styles and students’ self-efficacy, both individually and jointly, make significant contributions to students’ learning motivation at SDN Sungai Raya 1. The practical implications highlight the importance of pedagogical training for teachers and interventions to strengthen students’ self-efficacy, and recommend further research that incorporates additional external variables to develop a more comprehensive model of learning motivation in the context of primary schools.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research on the simultaneous influence of self-efficacy and emotional intelligence on elementary students’ learning interest, despite their significant impact on academic engagement and holistic development. The study aims to examine the partial and simultaneous relationships between self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, and learning interest among upper-grade elementary students. Adopting a quantitative correlational design, the research involved a total sample of 63 students from Grades IV–VI selected through total sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using correlation, multiple regression, and first-order partial correlation techniques. The findings reveal significant positive relationships between self-efficacy and learning interest (r = 0.573, p < 0.05) and between emotional intelligence and learning interest (r = 0.565, p < 0.05), with both variables jointly explaining 39.6% of the variance in learning interest. These results indicate that self-efficacy and emotional intelligence play a synergistic role in fostering students’ learning interest. The implications encompass theoretical contributions to understanding cognitive and emotional determinants of student engagement and practical recommendations for teachers, schools, and parents to strengthen students’ self-confidence and emotional competencies. Future research is recommended to broaden sample diversity, include additional influencing factors, and employ longitudinal or mixed-method approaches to further elucidate the mechanisms shaping learning interest.
