This study used a causal quantitative method with a population of 161 teachers at the Cipinang Besar Selatan V elementary school and covered the entire population. The results of the study show that teacher competence has a positive and significant impact on performance. Work stress has a negative and significant impact on teacher performance. This study also found that teacher competency has a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. The dimension of personality competence in teacher commitment has the greatest influence on job satisfaction. Job stress has a negative and significant impact on job satisfaction, with the response factor to ambiguity in work stress having the greatest influence. In addition, this study also shows that job satisfaction has a positive and significant impact on performance. Abstract

Purpose – This study aimed to analyze the effect of competence on innovative work behavior through work engagement by comparing Generation X and millennials during the Covid-19 pandemic.  Methodology – It was conducted on 114 employees of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology,  at High School Directorate. The data were further analyzed using Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Findings –The results proved that competence positively affects work engagement and innovative behavior. Work engagement also mediates the effect of competence on innovative work behavior. Moreover, the effect on Generation X is higher than on Millennials. This is because Generation X dominates important positions and has a greater responsibility in public organizations. They are also more loyal and have high intrinsic motivation with high competence. Therefore, Generation X has higher work engagement and better innovative behavior due to more responsibilities. Originality – The model built in this study uses a multi-group analysis that compares Millennials and Generation X employees. This analysis is interesting because it is relatively rare to find similar analyzes in previous studies, and it is useful to find out whether managing employees from different generations requires different policies.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have a strategic role in national economic development. MSMEs play a role in economic growth and labor absorption. MSMEs face many problems that must be faced in running their businesses. In order to be able to play a role in fostering Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), this time the community service is in collaboration with PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero), a state-owned enterprise that diversifies its funding sources through cooperation with third parties, namely banking and capital markets. In 2015, PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero) launched the PNM Mekaar (Fostering a Prosperous Family Economy) product which provides special services for underprivileged women ultra-micro business actors, both those who want to start a business and develop a business. Our PkM group has the opportunity to become a partner of PT PNM in providing guidance to micro business groups. The implementation is in fostered micro businesses located in Kebagusan Village, West Jakarta. The problem that often occurs which is a characteristic of MSMEs, many MSME business people prefer to change businesses before their business is established and stable, even though by changing businesses frequently, this MSME business will not be able to develop because of such a passionate desire and the main business actually fails. MSME actors must recognize their business, by understanding the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of their business in order to further increase the stability of their business, so as not to fall into the abyss of failure, so that their business can be sustainable.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mediating role of Extrinsic Work Motivation (EWM) in the influence of Transformational Leadership (TL) and Organizational Climate (OC) on Employee Engagement (EE). The population and sample in this study were all permanent teachers of Yayasan Bina Insan Mulia Batam Riau Islands, totaling 84 respondents. Sampling uses a non-probability sampling method, especially a saturated sampling method. This study used a survey method with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis method was carried out with the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (SEM PLS) 4.0.9.6. The results showed that TL had no direct and insignificant effect on EE, OC had a significant positive effect on EE, EWM had a significant positive effect on EE, TL had a significant positive effect on EWM, and OC had a significant effect on EE. EWM fully mediates the influence of TL on EE, and EWM partially mediates the influence of OC on EE. Transformational Leadership and Organizational Climate each contribute positively to teachers' Extrinsic Work Motivation. Furthermore, Extrinsic Work Motivation becomes a full mediator between Transformational Leadership and Employee Engagement, also partially mediating the relationship between Organizational Climate and teacher-employee engagement.
