Abstract

This study aims to examine comprehensively about the perang timbung tradition which has a goal as a repellent to balaq and an expression of gratitude to Allah SWT. In addition, the tradition marries Islamic values in it. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation, then analyzed deductively and inductively. The theory used to analyze the data is the theory of symbolic interactionism, integration theory and social interaction theory. The results of the study illustrate that the acculturation of religious practices in the perang timbung tradition has long been preserved by the people of Pejanggik Village as a form of gratitude to Allah SWT. Acculturation that occurs between Islam and the tradition of mutual benefit and need, Islamic religious practice is a symbol of devotion and a form of worship to Allah, and tradition is something that is believed to have been left by the ancestors who have values embedded in society such as the value of friendship, the value of gratitude and the value of gotong royong.. Islamic religious practices carried out in the perang timbung tradition such as dhikr, recitation of berzanji and sermons and prayers.

Abstract

This study aims to describe expressive speech acts and cultural values of Arab society contained in a collection of short stories Wahah al-Asdiqa’. This research uses qualitative approach with content analysis method. First, the researcher reads and studies the data, then records some expressive speech acts, after that she classifies and analyzes the speech into expressive speech acts and cultural values of Arab society, and most recently interpretes the data. The data analysis found that in the Wahah al-Asdiqa’ there are eight types of thanks using expressive speech acts, one replies from thank you, five apologies, seven greetings, two congratulations, fourty praises, five sad expressions, fourteen joyful expressions, and three offensive words, and there are some values of Arabic culture such as language, art, religion, technology, occupation, social organization, and science. Most of the culture of Arab society is based on the teachings of Islam, such as how to greet, praise always given to God, stories of prophets, culture makes poetry, etc. The expressive speech acts and cultural values must be taught to the Arabic students to improve expressive speech acts and have multicultural competence in communicating. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tindak tutur ekspresif dan nilai-nilai budaya dalam masyarakat Arab dalam kumpulan cerita pendek Wahah al-Asdiqa’. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode konten analisis. Pertama, peneliti membaca dan mengkaji data lalu mencatat tindak tutur ekspresif, setelah itu mengklasifikasi dan menganalisis perkataan tersebut dalam tindak tutur ekspresif dan nilai-nilai budaya dalam masyarakat Arab, dan kemudian menginterpretasikan data. Berdasar hasil analisis, ada delapan tipe ucapan berterima kasih yang menggunakan tindak tutur ekspresif, satu respon dari ucapan terima kasih, lima permintaan maaf, tujuh sapaan, dua ucapan selamat, 40 pujian, lima ungkapan sedih, 14 ungkapan bahagia, dan tiga kata hinaan, selain itu ada beberapa nilai budaya Arab seperti bahasa, seni, agama, teknologi, mata pencaharian, organisasi sosial, dan ilmu. Kebanyakan budaya masyarakat Arab didasarkan pada pengajaran Islam, seperti cara menyapa, pujian terhadap Tuhan, kisah-kisah nabi, budaya membuat puisi, dan sebagainya. Tindak tutur ekspresif dan nilai budaya harus diajarkan kepada siswa yang mempelajari Bahasa Arab untuk meningkatkan tindak tutur ekspresif dan memiliki kompetensi multi kultural dalam berkomunikasi.

Abstract

Jurnal ini memperluas pemahaman kita melalui analisis tentang implementasi Peran Kegiatan Sosial dan Olahraga dalam Membentuk Karakter Pemuda Desa Cangkuang yang saat ini menjadi isu yang jarang terdengar sebagai langkah pemerintah desa dalam mengembangkan karakter pemuda umumnya di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara dan observasi. Dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini, pengumpulan data diperoleh dari hasil wawancara dan observasi kepada anggota-anggota Karang Taruna Jaya di Desa Cangkuang. Melalui lima dimensi yang terdapat dalam teori PYD dari Lerner kami mengungkap bahwa pada implementasi Peran Kegiatan Sosial dan Olahraga dalam Pengembangan Karakter Pemuda Di Desa Cangkuang sudah cukup optimal dan tepat sasaran.

Abstract

Sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan kesadaran akan pentingnya menabung sejak dini pada anak-anak. Melalui berbagai kegiatan, Dengan menanamkan kebiasaan menabung sejak dini, diharapkan anak-anak tumbuh menjadi individu yang mandiri, bertanggung jawab, dan mampu mengelola keuangan dengan bijak. Sosialisasi ini juga diharapkan dapat berkontribusi peserta diajak untuk memahami konsep menabung, manfaatnya untuk masa depan, serta cara-cara menabung yang efektif. Dan penerapan dalam islam, menabung sosialisasi ini dapat membentuk kebiasaan menabung yang positif pada anak-anak dan menjadi bekal bagi mereka dalam mengelola keuangan di masa depan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui seperti pembuatan celengan dari kardus bekas dan diskusi mengenai cara menabung yang efektif.  Ini ditunjukan kepada siswa kelas 4-6 SDN 4 Cangkuang.

Abstract

The growing fighting spirit of the Acehnese people against the Dutch colonialists has been documented in history. One factor that significantly influenced this heroic spirit was the Hikayat Prang Sabi (The letter literature of war). How did this text shape the courageous spirit of the Acehnese in their resistance against the invaders? This paper examines the influence of Hikayat Prang Sabi (HPS) on its readers and the broader community. This study aims to reveal the impact of Hikayat Prang Sabi on Acehnese society. The theoretical framework used is the sociology of literature, focusing on the relationship between author, the literary work, and the reading public. The methodology employed is a descriptive qualitative approach that draws on literary sociology. The results indicate that HPS was a significant literary work that deeply affected its readers, especially the Acehnese who embraced it. The creation of HPS by Tgk. Chik Pante Kulu was closely tied to the political conditions in Aceh at the time, as the region was engaged in conflict with Dutch military force. During the Aceh-Dutch war, HPS was read before going to battle until it was confiscated and destroyed by the Dutch. Even after the war, HPS remained a crucial reference for the Acehnese in rebuilding political power.

Abstract

After the Covid-19 pandemic, parents were increasingly involved in assisting children's learning, from explaining material children did not understand to responding well to all learning from school. This article aims to analyze and measure the role of intervening spiritual well-being in the influence of religious learning assistance on single-parent resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Horseshoe Region of East Java Province. This study involved 150 single-parent mothers/parents. All participants completed an online survey of a parent's resilience index, assistance in religious learning, and spiritual well-being. The study results show that 1) The better the mother's assistance in the learning process to accompany the child's learning assignments, the higher the spiritual well-being relationship with oneself is believing that life has several goals with an influence of 77.3%. 2) The better the mother's assistance in the learning process to accompany the child's learning assignments, the better the resilience of single mothers in dealing with all situations, with an effect of 48.0%. 3) the higher the spiritual well-being relationship with oneself is believing that life has several goals, the better the resilience of single mothers in dealing with all situations, with an influence of 40.6%.

Abstract

The old city of Gresik is recognized for its Arab Kampong in Gapurosukolilo Village, home to the graves of the first harbor master and the first regent of Gresik. These sites have now become significant cultural heritage and pilgrimage tourism attractions. This study aims to investigate the conditions and impact of tourism in the Arab Kampong Gresik during the Covid-19 pandemic and to provide insights for the post-COVID-19 era. Employing a qualitative historical perspective, the research analyzes data from documents and interviews regarding past events. The findings reveal that during the pandemic, the number of tourists visiting the Arab Kampong of Gresik decreased, resulting in a substantial decline in the local community's income. The interpretation focuses on the processes of rethink, rebuild, and restart, which have led to the creation of strategic programs designed to assist the community in effectively navigating the challenges of the Post Covid-19 era.

Abstract

Together with old cities in Southeast Asia, Gresik is a city visited by many world traders in the 15th century. Some of the old cities have been transformed into tourist areas, while those in Gresik have not yet been realized. This study aims to analyze the government's efforts to revitalize cultural heritage and its use as a tourist attraction in the old town of Gresik. This study uses a qualitative method with a critical descriptive approach with interpretive analysis. Research data were obtained from government archives, library sources in the form of books and scientific articles, interviews with stakeholders in the Gresik old town area. After the data is collected, the research is continued with the process of data analysis using a qualitative interpretive analysis approach. The results of this study can be concluded that activities related to preservation, revitalization and utilization of cultural heritage in the old city of Gresik have not been maximized. This can be seen from the efforts to identify and determine cultural heritage that have not been completed; spatial planning of cities in historical areas still leaves many differences of opinion; and regulations regarding tourism planning in the old city of Gresik do not yet exist. The solution that can be done is to involve the community who owns ancient buildings from data collection to tourism management, so that the tourism that is developed can be sustainable.

Abstract

The increasing use of social media, particularly Instagram, as a primary platform for political campaigns demands an in-depth understanding of how visual elements influence public perception. This study addresses two main research problems: first, what meanings are embedded in the images of gubernatorial political advertisements on Instagram? Second, how can a hermeneutic approach uncover the visual dimensions within such campaigns? The purpose of this study is to analyze the visual messages in gubernatorial political campaigns on Instagram and understand the contextualization and visual interpretation of political advertisements using a hermeneutic approach. Using a qualitative method based on visual hermeneutics, data in the form of political advertisement images were analyzed through visual mapping and semantic interpretation. The results show that campaign advertisements featuring the gubernatorial candidate alongside the music group Slank successfully built a connection between the candidate and strong social and cultural identities, particularly among young voters. Visual elements such as facial expressions, color schemes, and image composition reinforced the political message and created an image of the candidate as a progressive figure closely connected to the community. Hermeneutic analysis further revealed that these advertisements not only conveyed political messages but also constructed cultural narratives linking the candidate to values of change and solidarity. This study contributes to enriching the understanding of the role of visual elements in political campaigns on social media and demonstrates how these elements can be strategically utilized to shape public perception, enhance the candidate's image, and influence voter preferences in an increasingly digital and visual electoral context.

Abstract

This study examines the resilience and recovery of the Arab Tourism Village in Gresik, focusing on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the strategies implemented for post-pandemic recovery. The village, renowned for its Arab Kampong in Gapurosukolilo, is home to the graves of the first harbor master and the first regent of Gresik, which have become significant cultural heritage and pilgrimage tourism sites. However, during the pandemic, tourism in the area was severely affected, with a significant decline in visitor numbers and a substantial reduction in the local community's income.  Using a qualitative historical approach, the research analyzes documents and interviews regarding the impact of the pandemic and the subsequent efforts to recover. The findings indicate that the pandemic served as a critical period for reflection and adaptation in the village's tourism sector. Strategies focused on improving health and safety standards, promoting virtual religious tourism experiences, and developing new marketing initiatives. The village embraced the processes of rethink, rebuild, and restart, leading to the implementation of strategic programs aimed at helping the community navigate the post-Covid-19 era effectively.  The urgency of this study lies in understanding how the pandemic can be used as an opportunity to rethink and rebuild sustainable tourism models for cultural and religious destinations. The novelty of the research is its focus on the Arab Tourism Village in Gresik, offering insights into how a historical, culturally rich area can adapt to the challenges of the post-pandemic tourism landscape. This study contributes to the broader discourse on tourism recovery, providing valuable lessons for similar religious and cultural tourism destinations.
