Abstract

The rapid penetration of cyber-physical technology in the Society 5.0 era has triggered a crisis of moral degradation, gadget dependency, and the fading of humanistic-religious values in early childhood. This study aims to analyze the conceptual-philosophical relevance of Tarbiyah Islamiyah to the philosophical foundations of contemporary Early Childhood Education (ECE) and to formulate an internalization model to protect children's morality. The research method used is library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through structured digital documentation from authoritative literature and reputable journal articles over the last five years (2022–2026). A data categorization matrix was utilized as the research instrument, while data analysis applied the content analysis model integrated with educational hermeneutics techniques. The results indicate that Tarbiyah Islamiyah has a robust epistemological relevance in shaping a fitrah-friendly ECE ecosystem in the digital era. The success of this relevance is realized through an integrated model that aligns the aspects of tarbiyah jasmaniyah (screen time regulation), tarbiyah fikriyah (critical-reflective digital literacy), and tarbiyah khuluqiyah (instilling cyber adab/digital akhlak based on exemplary behavior). However, practical implementation in the field is still constrained by the gap in digital competence among educators. This study contributes a theoretical-applicative guide for teachers and parents in steering children's emotional-social intelligence amidst cyber disruption.

Abstract

Emotional regulation in early childhood is shaped not only through formal instruction but also through the implicit emotional scripts children encounter in daily classroom interactions. In Islamic early childhood education, these scripts are closely connected to Adab (manners), Akhlaq (morality), and Uswah Hasanah (prophetic role modeling), yet the cognitive processes through which teachers translate these moral ideals into observable pedagogical practice remain underexplored. This study examines how teachers’ metacognitive awareness and reflective practice shape emotional modeling within the hidden curriculum of Islamic preschools. Using a qualitative collective case study design, data were collected through classroom observations and semi-structured interviews with three purposively selected teachers from Islamic-oriented preschools representing different socio-economic settings in Makassar, Indonesia. The findings show that teachers’ metacognitive monitoring enables them to pause, regulate verbal responses, repair emotional tension, and make emotional recovery visible to children. Reflective practice strengthens this process by helping teachers evaluate classroom interactions and adjust emotional communication across different situations. The study identifies metacognitive emotional modeling as a pedagogical mechanism through which Uswah Hasanah becomes an observable and reproducible classroom practice. Rather than treating Islamic moral pedagogy as an abstract theological ideal, the findings show how culturally grounded emotional modeling can support children’s emerging self-regulation. The study offers a globally relevant framework for analyzing teacher emotional competence in culturally responsive and faith-based early childhood education contexts.

Abstract

The long struggle of human rights defenders in Indonesia continues to be met with serious challenges that remain unresolved. This study examines the political practice of law in protecting human rights defenders by analyzing existing legal frameworks and their implementation. Normatively, Law No. 39 of 1999 on Human Rights provides guarantees through several provisions, including Articles 3(2), 4, 8, 29(1), 30, 71, and 72. However, these legal protections have not been effectively implemented in practice. Empirical findings reveal that human rights defenders continue to experience various forms of violations, such as intimidation, physical and psychological attacks, criminalization, and judicial harassment. These actions often occur when defenders advocate for justice, environmental protection, and the preservation of livelihoods. Although regulatory frameworks formally recognize protection, they remain insufficient without more specific and comprehensive legal instruments, such as a dedicated law on human rights defenders. This research employs a normative legal method, utilizing legislative, conceptual, and case approaches to identify the gap between legal ideals and empirical realities. The findings indicate that weak protection mechanisms are largely due to the state's limited role in strengthening legal institutions that favor human rights defenders. The absence of a specific legal framework, combined with a repressive legal culture, exacerbates defenders' vulnerability in Indonesia. The primary purpose of this study is to emphasize the need for legal-political reconstruction oriented toward substantive justice through stricter regulation and the internalization of human rights values in law enforcement practice

Abstract

Students’ emotional engagement remains a persistent challenge in many English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms, where instruction is frequently dominated by teacher-centered approaches and textbook-based materials. This study aimed to explore how multimodal EFL materials informed by Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic (VAK) learning principles shaped students’ emotional engagement in an Indonesian senior high school. A qualitative case study was conducted at SMA Negeri 20 Gowa during the 2024/2025 academic year. Through purposive sampling, one Grade XI class (XI-B) was selected from approximately 180 students based on its relatively comparable English proficiency and learning characteristics. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, students’ reflective journals, and classroom documentation and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed five interconnected dimensions of emotional engagement: interest and enjoyment, confidence, motivation, active participation, and sense of belonging. Learning activities integrating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic experiences created a more interactive and supportive classroom environment, encouraging students to participate more confidently and collaboratively. Students also perceived the learning process as more enjoyable, meaningful, and relevant than conventional instruction. These findings demonstrate that VAK-informed multimodal materials can support emotionally engaging and learner-centered EFL instruction by strengthening students’ affective involvement, meaningful participation, and communicative interaction. This study contributes to the literature on emotional engagement and multimodal pedagogy by providing context-specific evidence from Indonesian secondary EFL education and offers practical implications for teachers designing inclusive instructional materials that accommodate diverse modes of learning.

Abstract

T2DM is a chronic metabolic disorder of rising global prevalence, in which DPP-4 serves as a key therapeutic target through its role in incretin hormone degradation. This study aimed to identify polyphenolic compounds derived from dietary sources as potential DPP-4 inhibitors through an in silico pipeline integrating machine learning (ML) and molecular docking. The bioactivity dataset for DPP-4 was retrieved from ChEMBL (CHEMBL284), processed into a binary classification dataset, and represented using 2048-bit Morgan fingerprints combined with five RDKit descriptors. Six ML models were integrated into a soft-voting ensemble, achieving a Matthews correlation coefficient (MCC) of 0.8334 and an AUC-ROC of 0.9739. Screening of 162 compounds from the Phenol-Explorer database yielded 11 potential active inhibitors. Molecular docking identified hesperetin (−8.548 kcal/mol) as the leading candidate, followed by pelargonidin, daidzein, and naringenin, with key binding residues including Ser209, Glu205/206, Tyr631, Arg125, and Tyr662.

Abstract

In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, academic writing skills are a requirement that students must meet. This study aims to analyze the influence of AI feedback and learning motivation on students’ academic writing skills, with self-confidence serving as a mediating variable. The research problem stems from low writing skills, where only 2 out of 30 students have ever published in a SINTA journal, amidst advancements in AI that offer real-time feedback to address conventional delays. The study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study population consists of 168 students from the Accounting Education Department, Class of 2022, at Semarang State University, with a sample of 118 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected via a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results indicate significant direct effects: AI feedback (t=2.618, p=0.010), learning motivation (t=4.052, p=0.000), and self-confidence (t=2.682, p=0.008) on writing skills; AI feedback (t=3.899, p=0.000) and motivation (t=5.792, p=0.000) on self-confidence. Indirectly, self-confidence mediates the effects of AI feedback (t=2.168, p=0.032) and motivation (t=2.541, p=0.012) on writing skills. These findings indicate that the use of AI technology, supported by learning motivation and self-confidence, can optimally enhance students’ academic writing skills.
