Abstract

This research began with the fact that there was still a lot of rubbish found on the side of the road near the Sunday market, of which, if left to continue, it would give rise to germs of disease, unpleasant odors, and environmental pollution would cause disasters such as floods. This research uses a qualitative analysis approach with descriptive methods. The use of this descriptive method is based on a problem solving procedure by describing the current state of an object or subject based on facts. The approach used is a qualitative approach. By using the theory of Policy Implementation from George Edward III which suggests that Policy Implementation can be determined by 4 factors, namely Communication, Resources, Disposition and Bureaucratic Structure. The results of the research show that the implementation of waste management policies in Pasar Minggu has not been running optimally, this is indicated by the lack of quality human resources who can manage waste into more useful and reusable goods, the lack of the required fleet and the absence of standards. Operational Procedures (SOP) in implementing policies so that policy implementers and related parties only carry out instructions from the Government. The thing that is an obstacle in implementing policies at Pasar Minggu is the lack of awareness among the people of Pasar Minggu about the importance of protecting the surrounding environment and the bad habits of "individuals" in the community who still throw rubbish carelessly. Abstract

The concepts of jihad, heresy, and Khilafah, as interpreted by transnational radical groups, have contributed to many conflicts in Indonesia. The objective of this article is to provide an in-depth examination of the strategies employed by the eight Rais Aam Syuriah and four General Chairmen of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) in countering radicalism in Indonesia. This article employs a qualitative approach and a literature review methodology. The article presents three findings. Firstly, the process of deradicalization through an intellectual approach is achieved through an understanding of religious knowledge from authoritative Islamic scholars, verified literature, and complex methods of legal extraction. This is employed to produce contextual legal fatwas, which serve as a solution to the textual legal fatwas of radical groups. Secondly, deradicalization through a cultural approach is conducted continuously to harmonize religion and culture through various approaches. The cultural approach represents a solution to the cultural resistance exhibited by radical groups. Thirdly, deradicalization through a constitutional approach is directed at educating for nationalism, Pancasila, the trilogy of brotherhood, and a critical review of the 1945 Constitution and its derivatives. The constitutional approach represents a solution to the radical movement that seeks to alter the fundamental tenets of the four pillars of nationalism in favor of their ideological framework.

Abstract

Abstract The issue of social transformation through the (re)Islamization of the Abangan into Santri Islam, which gives rise to horizontal and vertical disputes, requires a solution. This article examines the social transformation strategy applied by Ma'had Tahfizhul Qur'an (MTQ) Isy Karima Karanganyar, Central Java, in (re)Islamizing Abangan (nominal Muslim) into Santri (devout Muslim). The article employs a qualitative approach and case study methodology for four months, spanning from May to August 2023. The data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation were then analyzed using an interactive model. The article’s findings align with the AGIL scheme (Adaptation, Goal Attainment, Integration, Latency) by Talcott Parsons, which serves as the theoretical framework. Firstly, the social transformation strategy at the Adaptation stage is the silaturrahim (maintain the relationship), the participatory-reciprocal, and the socio-economic empathy method. Secondly, the social transformation strategy at the Goal Attainment stage is focused on establishing MTQ Isy Karima as a center for Qur'anic studies and disseminating Qur'anic values to a society that is predominantly Abangan in character. Thirdly, the social transformation strategy at the Integration stage is achieved through inbound and outbound Ta'lim (Islamic teaching) programs, ICID (Islamic Center I'dadud Du'at), and a variety of da'wah via Radio Isy Karima. Fourth, the social transformation strategy at the Latency stage is the marriage of senior santri with residents the residents, the economic empowerment of the community, and the preservation of positive cultural practices.

Abstract

This article aims to assess the feasibility of Malang Raya mosques in the Religious Moderation Program through the perspective of Durkheim, Parsons, and Merton’s functionalist sociological theories. Employing a qualitative approach, the research utilizes a case study methodology across multiple sites, specifically Al-Ghozali Mosque (Islamic education institution area), Al-Mukhlisin Mosque (residential area), and Al-Barokah Mosque (housing area). The findings align with four indicators of religious moderation: First, all three mosques fulfill the National Commitment standards based on empirical data related to organic solidarity that fosters a functional society, as evidenced by the manifest and latent functions exhibited by the mosques in the context of national commitment (Mu’ahadah Wataniyyah) and adherence to laws (Dusturiyyah). Second, the mosques meet the tolerance standards through their affiliations with mass organizations, namely Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyyah, which have historically demonstrated tolerance (Tasamuh), as well as the principle of justice (‘Adliyyah) upheld through financial transparency and accountability. Third, the mosques satisfy the anti-violence standards through programs promoting care and compassion (Rahamutiyyah) for women, children, the elderly, orphans, and the impoverished, alongside the active involvement of women (Mubadalah) in mosque activities, mainly as educators and staff at Al-Qur’an Learning Centre (Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an or TPQ) affiliated with the mosque. Fourth, the mosques adhere to the standards for acceptance of tradition through activities that reflect local traditional values (‘Urfiyyah), such as the mosque's architectural style; humanity (Insaniyyah), exemplified by economic assistance for disaster victims; and public welfare (Maslahah), demonstrated by their concern for the rights of road users.

Abstract

The existence of Islamic private high schools (SMA) founded on foundations is constantly threatened by both public schools and the advancement of globalization currents. With such a big problem, private educational institutions must try to discover ways to survive and adapt accordingly in order to continue to exist. The method for reacting to these issues for private schools is unique, and it should be explored thoroughly so that it can serve as a model for other educational institutions. The study used qualitative methods and focused on five foundation-based Islamic private high schools in Demak, Central Java. Data is collected by observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis using interactive models, including data reduction, data submission, and conclusions. According to the study's findings, (1) foundation-based Islamic private schools (SMA) employ a variety of strategies, including traditional strategies, modern strategies, and comprehensive student networks, such as free transportation and recruitment of outstanding students (academic, non-academic, and cultural arts achievements). (2) Demak private schools use marketing mix methods such as superior pricing, diverse products, market focus, long-term promotional activities, and online school programs.

Abstract

Previous studies have identified radical content in Islamic religious education (PAI) textbooks. However, no comprehensive examination of 12 PAI textbooks in Indonesian Islamic high schools (Madrasah Aliyah) has been conducted. This study aims to address two questions: (1) What forms of non-moderate interpretation threaten religious moderation? (2) What forms of moderate interpretation strengthen religious moderation? This qualitative study gathered data through documentation, interviews with PAI textbook authors, and discussions with PAI experts in scientific forums. Data were analyzed using an interactive model. The findings of this study identified three forms of non-moderate interpretations in PAI textbooks that threaten religious moderation: (1) Textual interpretations undermining national commitment (wataniyyah), obedience to legislation (dusturiyyah), and acceptance of tradition (urfiyyah); (2) Partial interprettations compromising equality (mubadalah), compassion (rahamutiyyah), and justice (adalah); (3) Monodimensional interpretations on benefit (maslahat), humanity (insaniyyah), and tolerance (tasamuh). Conversely, moderate interpretations that strengthen religious moderation include: (1) Contextual interpretations combining objective text meanings with relevant subjective contexts; (2) Holistic interpretations integrating comprehensive understanding of the Qur'an through the maudu’i (thematic) method with collective expert validation (taqrir jama’i); (3) Multidimensional interpretations merging insights from Islamic science experts (shar’i) with those from natural, social, and humanities sciences (kawni). The practical implications highlight the need for developing mufassir education programs to produce contextual interpretations, expanding scientific forums for holistic interpretations, and enhancing collaboration between shar’i and kawni experts for multidimensional interpretations

Abstract

This study aims to develop ethnomathematics-based e-learning with a touch of Lampung cultural design and analyze its influence on students’ creative thinking skills and learning outcomes in a number of materials. E-learning based on ethnomathematics was developed using the Branch development model with stages of development, implementation, and evaluation. The research sample consisted of 80 students selected through purposive sampling techniques. The data collection instrument was an essay test to measure students’ creative thinking skills and learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test statistical test with the help of SPSS 25 software. The results of the analysis showed that the t-value for creative thinking skills (14.426) and learning outcomes (13.921) were higher than the t table (1.990) at a significance level of 0.05. This indicates a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The average increase in creative thinking skills reached 67.5%, while student learning outcomes increased by 65.0%. This e-learning enhances the originality and elaboration aspects of creative thinking and provides a learning experience that enriches mathematical knowledge through the Lampung cultural context. E-learning based on ethnomathematics with Lampung design offers innovation in digital learning that is not only adaptive to the needs of the 21st century but also supports the preservation of local culture in the educational process. This study recommends ethnomathematics-based e-learning as an alternative learning medium that effectively improves creative thinking skills and student learning outcomes while introducing Lampung culture more broadly in an academic context

Abstract

The 21st century is characterized by rapid advancements in information technology, impacting various aspects of life, including education systems. In this context, educational media plays a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of communication between educators and learners. Pesantren Al Bukhori, an Islamic educational institution in Brebes Regency, still relies on conventional methods for teaching Ilmu Nahwu, which limits learning within specific spaces and times. This research, titled "Design and Development of a Web-Based Educational Media for Ilmu Nahwu (Case Study: Pesantren Al Bukhori Brebes)," aims to design and build a web-based educational media that allows for more flexible interactions between students and teachers and expands the scope of learning at Pesantren Al Bukhori. The research employs the waterfall method, including stages of needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Feasibility testing was conducted using the WebQual instrument to evaluate the website's quality from the user's perspective. The results showed that the website was tested using a Likert Scale and received an interval score of 78,43% from 16 respondents. This score indicates that the website falls into the "good" or "satisfactory" category, demonstrating that the web-based educational media is effective in enhancing the teaching and learning process of Ilmu Nahwu.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Bengkulu City in implementing the supervision of the 2024 Simultaneous Election and identify the obstacles faced. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, with triangulation techniques to test the validity of the data. The results of the study indicate that the Bengkulu City Bawaslu carried out supervision actively, participatory, and adaptively through preventive, repressive, and educational approaches. Supervision was carried out directly in the field and digitally using the SIWASLU system. However, there were obstacles in terms of the number of supervisors, budget limitations, political pressure, and low public participation. This study suggests strengthening human resource capacity, utilizing technology, and increasing public political literacy to increase the effectiveness of election supervision. Keywords: Bawaslu, election supervision, democracy, Bengkulu City, 2024 Election
