Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was conducted to determine the abundance and distribution of meiofauna in the Kuala Jeumpa waters, Jeumpa subdistrict, Bireuen regency. Sampling was conducted in April until May 2016. Purposive sampling method was used to determine the 3 stations of data collection, which includes downstream, upstream and estuary area, and then the data was analyzed in the laboratory. The results obtained from the abundance of meiofauna ranging from 222 ind/m2 - 3963 ind/m2 was made up of an abundance of Acarina sp. 222 ind/m2, abundance of Annulonemertes sp. 593 ind/m2, abundance of Cumacea sp. 481 ind/m2, abundance of Cyatholaimus sp. 3963 ind/m2, abundance of Eggerelloides scabrous 630 ind/m2, abundance of Kalipthorincia sp. 1037 ind/m2, abundance of Patagonacyther senescens 556 ind/m2, abundance of Syllides sp. 1593 ind/m2 and an abundance of Decapoda 407 ind/m2. Meiofauna with the highest abundance in the Kuala Jeumpa waters is Cyatholaimus sp. and the lowest was Acarina sp. Distribution Acarina sp. to Decapoda is clustered. The conclusion that the abundance of meiofauna ranging between 222 ind/m2 - 3963 ind/m2. The types of sediment are smooth sand and medium sand.Keywords: Abundance, distribution, meiofauna, Cyathulaimus sp., Acarina sp., Kuala Jeumpa waters ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan dan distribusi meiofauna di Perairan Kuala Jeumpa Kecamatan Jeumpa, Kabupaten Bireuen. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan April – Mei 2016. Metode purpossive sampling digunakan untuk menentukan 3 stasiun pengambilan data, yang meliputi kawasan hilir, hulu dan muara sungai, kemudian sampel yang ditemukan dianalisis di laboratorium. Hasil yang didapat dari kelimpahan meiofauna berkisar 222 ind/m2 – 3963 ind/m2 adalah terdiri dari kelimpahan Acarina sp. 222 ind/m2, kelimpahan Annulonemertes sp. 593 ind/m2, kelimpahan Cumacea sp. 481 ind/m2, kelimpahan Cyatholaimus sp. 3963 ind/m2, kelimpahan Eggerelloides scabrous 630 ind/m2, kelimpahan Kalipthorincia sp. 1037 ind/m2, kelimpahan Patagonacyther senescens 556 ind/m2, kelimpahan Syllides sp. 1593 ind/m2 dan kelimpahan Decapoda 407 ind/m2. Kelimpahan meiofauna tertinggi di perairan Kuala Jeumpa adalah Cyatholaimus sp. dan terendah adalah  Acarina sp. Pola distribusi Meiofauna di perairan Kuala Jeumpa adalah mengelompok. Jenis sedimen di perairan Kuala Jeumpa adalah pasir sedang dan pasir halus.Kata kunci: Kelimpahan, distribusi, meiofauna, Cyatholaimus sp., Acarina sp., Kuala Jeumpa.

Abstract

This study aimsto determine the degree of similarity of plankton in the waters of the mangrove ecosystem Gampong Pulo Sarok District of Singkil, Aceh Singkil. This research was conducted in January 2016. The method used is purposive sampling with mementukan 3 stations by mangrove species at each location. Sampling plankton based at a different time in the morning, afternoon and evening using plankton planktonet No. 25. Data were analyzed by using the similarity index formula to get the value of similarity at each station. In supporting parameters measured were temperature, salinity, brightness, depth, pH, and DO. The results showed that the plankton found in every station in the waters of the mangrove ecosystem Gampong Pulo Sarok District of Singkil, Aceh Singkil as many as 36 species. Level Parallelism (IS) in pulo Sarok was ranged from 66.66% to 94,74%.In which is meant the degree of similarity of plankton in the high category. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesamaan plankton pada perairan ekosistem mangrove Gampong Pulo Sarok Kecamatan Singkil, Kabupaten Aceh Singkil.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2016.Metode yang digunakan adalah purposivesampling yaitu dengan mementukan 3 stasiun berdasarkan jenis mangrove pada tiap lokasi. Pengambilan sampel plankton berdasarkan waktu yang berbeda yaitu pagi, siang dan sore dengan menggunakan planktonet no 25.Data plankton dianalisadenganmenggunakanrumusindekskesamaanuntuk mendapatkan nilai kesamaan pada setiap stasiun.Pada parameter pendukung yang diamati adalah suhu, salinitas, kecerahan, kedalaman, pH, dan DO. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa plankton yang ditemukan pada setiap stasiun di perairan ekosistem mangrove  Gampong Pulo Sarok Kecamatan Singkil, Kabupaten Aceh Singkil sebanyak 36 spesies. Tingkat Kesamaan (IS) menunjukkan tingkat kesamaan berkisar antara 66,66%-94,74%. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah tingkat kesamaan plankton pada ekosistem mangrove Pulo Sarok Kecamatan Singkil, Kabupaten Aceh Singkil plankton dalam kategori tinggi.

Abstract

A study of macrozobenthos comunity structure in Kuala Tuha river of Kuala Pesisir subdistrict Nagan Raya was conducted in November 2015 and Mei 2016. The purpose of this study was to determine comunity structure macrozobenthos including the spesies composition and subtrate texture, density, frequency of attendence and diversity. The method used in determining the station were purposive sampling method. In every station determined by six plot three in left river and three in right river, the data analysis of spesies composition were used percentage’s formula, density was used by density formula, frequency of attendance by frequency attendance formula and diversity by diversity index formula. The result  in November 2015 showed that (1) spesies composition it was found 4 mollusca 1 spesies of bivalves 2 spesies gastropods and 1 spesies malacostraca (2) The density ranged from 375 ind/m2- 875 ind/m2 (3) The frequency of attendance  ranged from 33.24%-55% (4) Diversity ranged from 1.46-1.53 (5) and  substrate texture in location research is sandy clay, dust and dusty clay. In may 2016 the showed that (1) spesies composition it was found 8  mollusca, 6 spesies gastropods, 1 spesies bivalves, 1 spesies malacostraca (2) The density ranged from 34 ind/m2-51 ind/m2, (3) Diversity ranged from 2.60-2.78 (4) and frequency of attendance of all three stasions is 100%. The conclusion obtained were: (1) The type of gastropode in may 2016  was higher than November 2015 (2) The density in May 2016 was higher November 2015 (3) Frequency of attendance in  May 2016 often,  while the frequency of attendance in November 2015 rarely (4)  The diversty in November 2015 was low while in May 2016 was moderate.  Penelitian tentang Kajian Struktur Komunitas Makrozoobenthos di Sungai Kuala Tuha Kecamatan Kuala Pesisir Kabupaten Nagan Raya telah dilakukan pada bulan November 2015 dan Mei 2016. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas makrozoobenthos yang meliputi komposisi jenis dan tipe substrat, kepadatan, frekuensi kehadiran dan keanekaragaman. Penentuan stasiun penelitian dilakukan dengan  metode purposive sampling.  Pada setiap stasiun ditentukan plot sebanyak 6 plot, 3 di sisi kiri sungai dan 3 sisi kanan sungai. Analisa data tentang komposisi jenis dihitung dengan menggunakan rumus komposisi jenis, kepadatan dengan rumus kepadatan, frekuensi kehadiran dengan rumus frekuensi kehadiran dan keanekaragaman dengan rumus  indek keanekaragaman. Hasil penelitian bulan November 2015 menunjukkan (1) komposisi jenis ditemukan 4 spesies moluska terdiri dari, 1 spesies Bivalvia, 2 spesies Gastropoda dan 1 spesies malacostraca (2) Kepadatan berkisar 375 ind/m2-875 ind/m2, (3) Frekuensi kehadiran berkisar 33,24%-55,25%,(4) Keanekaragaman berkisar 1,46-1,53 (5) Tekstur substrat di lokasi penelitian adalah lempung pasir, debu dan lempung berdebu. Pada bulan Mei 2016  menunujukkan (1) komposisi jenis ditemukan 6 spesies moluska 6 spesies Gastropoda 1 spesies Bivalvia dan 1 spesies Malacostraca, (2) Kepadatan berkisar 34 ind/m2-51 ind/m2,(3) Keanekaragaman berkisar 2,60-2,78 (4) Frekuensi kehadiran dari ketiga stasiun adalah 100%. Kesimpulan adalah (1) Komposisi jenis Gastropoda bulan Mei 2016 lebih tinggi dari bulan November 2015, (2) Kepadatan bulan Mei 2016 lebih tinggi dibandingkan November 2015, (3) Frekuensi kehadiran bulan Mei sering  pada bulan November 2015 jarang, (4)  keanekaragaman November 2015  rendah, sedangkan pada bulan Mei 2016  sedang.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the community structure of makrzoobenthos included density, diversity and uniformity. The research was conducted during October 2016 in the waters of village Paru Keudee sub District, Pidie Jaya District. The location was divided into three stations with five replications. Macrozoobenthos samples taken using the square transect method. Identification of macrozoobenthos was taken place at the Laboratory of Marine and Fisheries Faculty, and substrate type in Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Syiah Kuala. The results of the study were (1) the density of macrozoobenthos ranged from 35.6 ind/m2 to 58.2 ind/m2. Diversity index ranges from 2.42 to 2.63 and uniformity index ranges from 0.73 to 0.80. The highest density range of 35.6 ind/m2 to 58.2 ind/m2, while diversity of macrozoobenthos was categorized as moderate with highly uniformity of macrozoobenthos.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur komunitas makrozoobenthos meliputi kepadatan, keanekaragaman dan keseragaman. Penelitian telah dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2016 di Perairan Gampong Paru Keudee Kecamatan Bandar Baru Pidie Jaya. Dimana lokasi dibagi kedalam tiga stasiun dengan lima ulangan. Sampel makrozoobenthos diambil dengan menggunakan metode transek kuadrat. Identifikasi makrozoobenthos pada Laboratorium Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan, dan tipe substrat pada Laboratorium Tanah Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kepadatan makrozoobenthos berkisar 35,6 ind/m2 sampai 58,2 ind/m2. Indeks keanekaragaman berkisar 2,42 sampai 2,63 dan indeks keseragaman berkisar 0,73 sampai 0,80. Kepadatan tertinggi berkisar 35,6 ind/m2 sampai 58,2 ind/m2 sementara Keanekaragaman makrozoobenthos adalah sedang dan keseragaman makrozoobenthos adalah tinggi.

Abstract

Penelitian Keanekaragman Gastropoda dan Bivalvia Berdasarkan Karakteristik Sedimen  Daerah  Intertidal  di  Pantai  Ujung  Pancu  Kecamatan  Peukan  Bada Kabupaten Aceh Besar ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2016. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah   untuk   mengetahui   keanekaragaman   berdasarkan   karakteristik   sedimen. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Purposive sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada saat surut terendah. Stasiun terdiri dari 5  stasiun, dimana setiap stasiun diletakkan plot berukuran 5 x 5 m dan diletakkan transek kuadrat berukuran 1 x 1 m didalamnya  dengan jarak sampling 30 m. Analisis data menggunakan rumus keanekaragaman dan Mean grain size. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 19 total spesies yang terdiri dari 12 spesies kelas Gastropoda dan 7 spesies kelas Bivalvia. Keanekaragaman berkisar antara 3,652-3,984. Dan ukuran butiran berkisar antara 0,294-0,403. Kesimpulannya adalah (1) Keanekaragamannya tinggi (2) Ukuran butirannya pasir halus.  Kata Kunci : Ujong Pancu, Keanekaragaman, Sedimen,  Gastropoda, Bivalvia Study  about  diversity  of  Gastropods  and  Bivalves  based  on  characteristics  of sediment in intertidal area in Ujung Pancu Beach Peukan Bada subdistrict Aceh Besar  district  was  conducted  on  January  2016.  The  aim  of  this  study  was  to determine the diversity based on characteristics of sediment. The methode used was purposive sampling method. Sampling were conducted while the water had low recede. Station consisted of 5 stations where each station placed plot 5 x 5 m and placed 1 x 1 m2 of square transects in it with 30 m sampling space. Data analyzed by diversity formula and mean grain size. The result showed that 19 species were found which consisted of 12 species of Gastropods and 7 species of Bivalves. Diversity ranged between 3,652 to 3,984. Abstract

ABSTRACTPandang Island is one of the islands located in the Strait of Malacca. The Island has a variety of marine life, especially Phylum Echinoderms. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity and environmental conditions of shallow waters of Pandang Island, Tanjung Tiram Districts, Regency Batu Bara, Sumatera North. This study was conducted on May 2016 using direct observation method. Data collection was performed with a quadratic transect method, and data analysis using the formula index diversity. Based on the observation it was found four species of Echinoderms, namely: Diadema setosum, Holothuria atra, Holothuria leucopsilota, and Ophiocoma erinaceus, with diversity index was ranged from 0,54 to 1,06, and environmental conditions with temperature 29,7°C – 33,9°C; DO 7,4 mg/L – 8,3 mg/L; salinitas 30  – 31 ; dan pH 8,3 – 8,5. Conclusion obtaind is diversity index of Echinoderms in the water of Pandang Island belonged to low-moderate, the waters of Pandang Island was still in a good condition for Echinoderms.  Keywords: Echinoderms, diversity, Pandang Island. ABSTRAKPulau Pandang merupakan salah satu pulau yang terdapat di Perairan Selat Malaka. Pulau ini memiliki berbagai biota laut khususnya Filum Echinodermata. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman dan kondisi lingkungan perairan dangkal Pulau Pandang Kecamatan Tanjung Tiram Kabupaten Batu BaraProvinsi Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Bulan Mei 2016 menggunakan metode observasi langsung. Pengambilan data Echinodermata dilakukan dengan metode transek kuadrat, dan analisis data menggunakan rumus Indeks Keanekaragaman. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan diperoleh 4 spesies Echinodermata yaitu Diadema setosum, Holothuria atra, Holothuria leucopsilota, dan Ophiocoma erinaceus, dengan Indeks keanekaragaman yang diperoleh berkisar antara 0,54 – 1,06, dan kondisi lingkungan dengan suhu 29,7°C – 33,9°C; DO 7,4 mg/L – 8,3 mg/L; salinitas 30  – 31 ; dan pH 8,3 – 8,5. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah tingkat keanekaragaman Echinodermata di Pulau Pandang tergolong rendah sampai sedang, dan kondisi perairan dangkal Pulau Pandang masih sesuai bagi kehidupan Echinodermata.

Abstract

ABSTRACTResearch on the density and diversity of meiofauna is very important because of limited information about the meiofauna. This research has been conducted during April-May 2016. The purpose of this study is to determine the density and diversity in the waters of the Meureudu River, Pidie Jaya District. The method of this research used was purposive sampling, which stations the total is 36 samples. 11 species of meiofauna was found with a total of 240 individuals, namely, Cumacea sp. with the density of 518.4 ind/m2, Kalipthorincia sp. with the density of 2629.7 ind/m2, Annulonemertes sp. with the density of 925.9 ind/m2, Spiroplectammina biformis with the density of 296.32 ind/m2, Amphipoda with the density of 333.31 ind/m2, Eggerelloides scabrous with the density of 296.25 ind/m2, Patagonacyther senescens with the density of 481.47 ind/m2, Copepods with the density of 518.5 ind/m2, Cyatholainus sp. with the density of 2037.1 ind/m2, Acari sp. with the density of 444.41 ind/m2, and Amoria betavus with the density of 407.41 ind/m2. The higest density is Kalipthorincia sp. and the lowest is Spiroplectammina biformis. Penelitian telah dilakukan pada April-Mei 2016.Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk menetapkan kepadatan dan keanekaragaman di perairan sungai Meureudu, Kabupaten Pidie Jaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling, stasiun yang ditetapkan sebanyak 4 stasiun dengan jumlah 12 titik dan 36 total sampel. Terdapat 11 spesies meiofauna dengan total 240 individu yaitu: Cumacea sp. dengan kepadatan 518,4 ind/m2, Kalipthorincia sp. dengan kepadatan 2629,7 ind/m2, Annulonemertes sp. dengan kepadatan 925,9 ind/m2, Spiroplectammina biformis dengan kepadatan 296,32 ind/m2, Amphipoda dengan kepadatan 333,31 ind/m2, Eggerelloides scabrous dengan kepadatan 296,25 ind/m2, Patagonacyther senescens dengan kepadatan 481,47 ind/m2, Copepoda dengan kepadatan 518,5 ind/m2, cyatholainus sp. dengan kepadatan 2037,1 ind/m2, Acari sp. dengan kepadatan 444,41 ind/m2, serta Amoria  betavus dengan kepadatan 407,41 ind/m2. Abstract

An experimental study on the implementation of guided inquiry learning method to improve students’ understanding and science processing skills in the concept of characteristics of organism has been conducted at MTsN Rukoh Banda Aceh in class VII. The aims of this study were (1) to determine the understanding of the concept of characteristics of living things through the application of guided inquiry learning, (2) to find out the improvement of students’ science processing skills in the concept of characteristics of living things by using guided inquiry learning, and (3) to determine the difference of understanding enhancement of the concept among the students who get guided inquiry learning. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The results showed that (1) there was an improvement of understanding of the concept in the experimental class with an average value was 61.95, while the control class was 35.70 with the difference was 26.25 and (2) the observation of teachers' activities showed that the interactions of teachers and students developed better compared to conventional learning. It can be concluded that (1) there was a significant difference between the application of guided inquiry method and conventional methods to increase students 'understanding of concepts (2) there was an increasing of students’ understanding of the concept and science processing skills through the implementation of guided inquiry learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses sains siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung (Direct Instruction) dengan model pembelajaran konvensional pada materi pengklasifikasian phylum arthropoda. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain kontrol grup tes awal dan tes akhir. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada kelas X1 menggunakan model pembelajaran direct instruction dan kelas X2 menggunakan model konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes pemahaman konsep, keterampilan proses sains dan angket. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan tes kemampuan awal siswa (pretes), tes kemampuan akhir siswa (postes), data peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses sains (N-Gain), dan data tanggapan siswa terhadap model pembelajaran direct instruction yang diukur dengan angket. Hasil uji statistik untuk pemahaman konsep diperoleh hasil t-hitung 5,734, sedangkan untuk keterampilan proses sains diperoleh hasil t-hitung 24,90 dengan nilai t-tabel 1,645. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses sains siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran direct instruction dengan siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. This study aimed at improving students’ understanding of science concepts and processing skills by implementing Direct Instruction model and conventional learning model on the classification of the phylum arthropods material. This study used experimental method with pre-test and post-test control group design. It has been conducted at class X1 as experimental class (implementing Direct Instruction) and class X2 as control class (implementing conventional learning model). The data were collected by pre-test and post-test, and also test of science processing skills as well as questionnaires. The improvement of students’ understanding of science concepts and processing skills were analyzed by using N-Gain, while the data of students’ response toward the implementation of direct instruction were measured by using questionnaire. The result of t-test for students’ understanding of the concept was 5.734, whereas for science processing skills the t-test was 24.90 with the t-table 1.645. The conclusion was that there was improvement on students’ understanding of science concepts and processing skills that were taught by using direct instruction model compare to those who were taught by using conventional learning model. Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in the students' critical thinking skills through the application of cooperative learning jigsaw with conventional learning the concepts of environmental pollution in SMA 12 Banda Aceh. Data were collected in April 2016. The method used in this study was an experimental method with pretest posttest control design. The research was conducted in two classes, namely X-IPA 1 as the experimental class and X-IPA 2 as the control class. The instrument used in this study using multiple choice questions to assess students' critical thinking. Data analysis used independent sample t-test with SPSS 16.0 for Windows at significant level of 0.05. T test results showed tvalue>t table was to think critically 6.633> 2.68. The conclusions show that there are differences in critical thinking ability of students to use the application model of cooperative learning jigsaw with the conventional concept of environmental pollution in SMA 12 Banda Aceh.
