Abstract

The objectives of this research is to know the characteristics of ethnoscience learning in developing creativity and testing its effect on students' creativity. This type of research is a Quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of 31-third year students from Physics Education study programs were chosen as the sample of the research through a purposive sampling technique. The data collection methods used were Torrance Test Creative Thinking, creativity questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and documentation. T-test with T-value test by LISREL 8.8 Second-order CFA application was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the ethnographic science learning model is a strategy for creating and designing a learning environment that integrates community culture through environmental studies. Based on the t-test, the indicator of creativity is 4.47, flexibility is 5.22, originality is 4.88, elaboration is 5.96, and redefinition is 6.24, with Ttable of 1,97. It means that ethnoscience learning is effective in increasing student creativity. It is recommended to reconstruct the original science into scientific science to preserve the culture of society which is a challenge in the era of industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

The purposes of the research were to know the difference between the student cognitive achievement who learned using PjBL and Discovery Learning models, between the student who had the high and low analyzing ability, and their interaction. The research population included the seventh-grade students in one of the Islamic state schools in Surakarta. The research subjects were students with different knowledge capabilities from low to high levels. The method has been implemented was experimental research. A two-way Anava test was chosen for the technique of analyzing data in this research. In collecting data, the multiple-choice test was used based on aspects of analytical abilities, namely mental flexibility, verbal reasoning and reading comprehension, scientific and mechanical reasoning. The result showed that there is the effect of the application of PjBL and Discovery learning model on cognitive achievement with the significance value <0,05, there is the effect between high and low analyzing ability on cognitive achievement with the significance value <0,05 and there was no interaction between learning model and analyzing ability on cognitive achievement with the significance value >0,05. This study implies that the PjBL model and discovery have a significant impact on student learning outcomes so that they can be used for other science subjects by paying attention to the internal factors of students that will be used as a review

Abstract

This research aims to determine the differences in the scientific attitudes of students who are given physics learning with the PBL model using experimental methods and project methods on static fluid material. The method used in this research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental approach using two independent group designs, namely the experimental group I using the PBL model-experimental method and the practical group II using the PBL model-project method. Subjects in this study were 65 students of class XI SMA YPPK Teruna Bakti obtained using cluster random sampling technique. Data obtained through a scientific attitude questionnaire instrument consisting of 15 items that have been tested for validity and reliability using SPSS 23.0.  Then, the prerequisite test (normality and homogeneity) was carried out and continued with hypothesis testing. The t-test result of 0.026 shows a difference in the average scientific attitude between students who are given learning using the PBL model with the experimental method and students who are given learning using the PBL model with the project method even though the average score for both. Not significantly different, namely in the experimental class 74.14 and the project class 70.10.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of project-based learning (PjBL) on enhancing students’ creative thinking abilities through a comprehensive meta-analytic study. Creative thinking is recognized as an integral part of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) required for success. Employing the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA), studies published between 2014 and 2024 were identified and synthesized from the Scopus database. Data analysis, conducted with R, assessed the impact of PjBL using effect size (ES) measurements. The findings demonstrate that PjBL significantly improves creative thinking skills compared to traditional teaching methods. Moderator analysis revealed that variables such as educational level, subject area, and learning model influence the outcomes, with the highest impact observed in high school and inquiry-driven subjects like physics. Variations of PjBL, including technology-enhanced models, such as Google Classroom-based approaches, further amplified its effectiveness, particularly in virtual learning environments. This study highlights PjBL’s adaptability and robust potential in fostering creativity and innovation across diverse educational contexts. The results provide practical implications for educators in designing tailored PjBL strategies to cultivate students’ creative thinking, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and technological integration in modern education.

Abstract

The demands of teachers to train 21st century skills are very challenging, especially in the current pandemic era. This study aims to determine the creative thinking ability of junior high school students in Ponorogo district. Quantitative descriptive is used as a research method. The population used is a junior high school in Ponorogo district. The sample was taken as many as one class in each school. the achievement of creative thinking indicators on average is 33.5% in the less category. Analysis of fluency indicators is 35%, flexibility is 32%, originality is 39%, and elaboration is 28%. The achievement of 4 indicators of creative thinking is in the less category. Students creative thinking ability level of in the creative category of 2.88%, and the non-creative category is 19.42%. Students at the creative level are at SMPN 1 Mlarak by 20% and at SMPN 1 Kauman by 3.33%. Creative thinking skills can be trained through learning including always doing apperception before starting learning, using project-based learning models, or using STEM-based learning approaches.

Abstract

The research aimed to optimize the Problem-Based Creative Learning (PBCL) model to enhance higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in natural science learning. The research used the Delphi method, which involved seven experts in education from various disciplines contributing to a cycle of Delphi. The Delphi cycle consisted of two cycles, and data analysis involved using the Aiken V statistical equation. The Delphi study results highlighted agreement on the characteristics of the PBCL model, which included (1) syntax, (2) social system, (3) principles of reaction, (4) support system, and (5) the impact of learning. The research findings highlight the potential of PBCL as an innovative learning model in natural science learning, emphasizing its effectiveness in improving aspects of analysis, evaluation, and creation as part of HOTS. The study contributes a learning model framework for educators to strengthen natural science education and cultivate insightful and adaptive students in the 21st century.

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze indigenous scientific knowledge into scientific knowledge through the STEAM approach. Interesting online learning can be done by integrating the local culture of the Plancungan Village. This research uses the Quantitative Descriptive method. Based on research at seven schools in Ponorogo found 83,3% of teachers never used the local culture because teachers know no understands the local culture of the Plancungan village in science material. Respondents were 62 students from Junior High School 1, Junior High School 2, and Junior High School 3. 37,74% of students know this local culture. The value of local culture is contained in the process of making pottery, namely character, aesthetic, historical, and environmental values. STEAM analysis, including science on the process of making pottery, requires a tool in the form of a turntable called "Perabot". This turntable is a form of Simple Plane. Simple Planes are tools that can facilitate human work. The math is in the Mechanical Advantage of the "Perabot" which can be calculated by dividing the wheel's radius by the axle's radius. Engineering on the body has the greatest ratio of volume to overall proportion. The moth is smaller than the neck, which is adapted to its function. Traditional pottery-burning technology uses a field stove with husk, straw, and bamboo as fuel. The art of pottery can be seen in form, color, and function. STEAM analysis on the pottery-making process can increase students' interest in science. The student's interest in learning science obtained an average N-gain of 0.70 with high criteria. The resulting STEAM analysis can also be applied to e-modules, e-learning, e-books, etc.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan studi analisis terkait e-modul (elektroknik modul) berbasis inkuiri terbimbing yang memanfaatkan potensi lokal untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan tahap awal menganalisis (analysis) yang termasuk dalam model ADDIE. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner yang diisi online melalui link google form oleh guru dan siswa di beberapa sekolah di Kabupaten Ponorogo. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 93% responden menyatakan perlu dan setuju apabila dilakukan pengembangan elektronik modul (e-modul) IPA berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dengan memanfaatkan sumber belajar potensi lokal untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. Hasil studi analisis digunakan untuk rancangan pengembangan e-modul IPA berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dengan memanfaatkan sumber belajar potensi lokal Kabupaten Ponorogo, yaitu: Telaga Ngebel.This research is an analytical study related to guided inquiry-based e-modules that utilize local potential to improve students' scientific literacy skills. This research is the initial stage of analyzing (analysis) which is included in the ADDIE model. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire which was filled out online via the Google form link by teachers and students in several schools in Ponorogo Regency. The data obtained were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that 93% of respondents stated that it was necessary and agreed to develop guided inquiry-based science electronic modules (e-modules) by utilizing local potential learning resources to increase students' scientific literacy. The results of the analytical study were used for the design of the guided inquiry-based science e-module development by utilizing the local potential learning resources of Ponorogo Regency, namely: Ngebel Lake.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kreatif merupakan keterampilan krusial yang dibutuhkan oleh generasi saat ini dalam menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Penelitian yang berfokus pada keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh RPP pembelajaran berbasis proyek sistem pernapasan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa. Desain penelitian pretest and posttest dengan kelompok kontrol non-equivalent. Perlakuan yang diberikan pada kelas eksperimen adalah penerapan RPP berbasis proyek sistem pernapasan, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode yang biasa digunakan oleh guru. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Kesimpulannya, RPP pembelajaran berbasis proyek sistem pernapasan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa.Creative thinking skills are the crucial skills required by nowadays generation in dealing with the 21st Century challenges. The researches focused on higher order thinking skills are still limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of respiratory system project-based learning lesson plan on students’creative thinking skills. The research design was pretest and post-test with non-equivalent control group. The treatment given in experimental class was the implementation of respiratory system project-based learning lesson plan, while the control class was taught using common method used by the teachers.  The results of this study indicated that the students’ creative thinking skills in experimental class was significantly higher than the control class. In conclusion, respiratory system project-based learning lesson plan is effective in improving students’ creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas berbagai literatur tentang model Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) sebagai solusi ketika mengembangkan kemampuan siswa SMP dalam memecahkan permasalahan. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes wawancara untuk guru dan siswa kelas VII SMPN 3 Singosari. Berdasarkan wawancara memperlihatkan kemampuan siswa tergolong rendah ketika memecahan masalah. Terlihat dari prilaku siswa yang pasif ketika proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Kebanyakan siswa berasumsi materi IPA adalah materi yang sulit dipahami, dan membosankan. Hal tersebut terjadi karena siswa ketika proses pembelajaran berlangsung hanya mendengarkan saat guru menjelaskan dan tidak terlibat langsung dalam mengkaji materi yang dipelajari. Guru dalam proses pembelajaran telah menyesuaikan kurikulum 2013 dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran discovery learning, tetapi pada prosesnya guru hanya berceramah ketika menjelaskan materi. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil studi literatur dibutuhkan solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Double Loop Problem Solving.This study discusses various literature on the Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) model as a solution when developing junior high school students' ability to solve problems. The instrument in this study used an interview test for teachers and class VII students of SMPN 3 Singosari. Based on interviews, it showed that students' abilities were low when solving problems. Seen from the passive behavior of students when the learning process takes place. Most students assume science material is material that is difficult to understand and boring. This happens because students when the learning process takes place only listen when the teacher explains and are not directly involved in reviewing the material being studied. The teacher in the learning process has adjusted the 2013 curriculum by applying the discovery learning model, but in the process the teacher only lectures when explaining the material. The method used is literature study and interviews. Based on the results of the literature study, a solution is needed to overcome this problem by applying the Double Loop Problem Solving learning model.
