Abstract

Laboratory activities are essential in improving the understanding of learning outcomes and supporting the process of forming students' knowledge about biological material, especially the concept of carbohydrate digestion. It is necessary to laboratory activities design (LAD) that can support forming student knowledge in laboratory activities to investigate carbohydrate foods. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method applied through ANCOR (Analyse, Try, Reconstruct) steps to develop LAD that supports students' knowledge formation process. The ANCOR stages include analysing the sample LAD, conducting trials, and reconstructing it into a new LAD per the Ministry of Education and Culture's learning outcomes. The LAD reconstruction aims to strengthen students' understanding of carbohydrate digestion through laboratory activities emphasizing exploration, direct observation, and active involvement of students in the learning process. It is expected that the use of LAD that has been adjusted will make a significant contribution to improving student learning outcomes in biology materials, improving the learning process in the laboratory, and increasing their understanding of the concept of organ structure and function in the carbohydrate digestive system.Abstrak. Abstract

Practical activities are a learning method that can involve students in constructing their own understanding. A good practicum activity must be guided by a structured instruction sheet or student worksheet that is able to lead students to understanding. The purpose of this research is to produce a worksheet for students of osmosis practicum that is reconstructed using Vee diagrams. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that the LKPD of osmosis practicum that has been analyzed has deficiencies in the purpose or focus of the question made, besides that there are still deficiencies in procedures and data transformation so that it does not lead to the desired conclusion. Reconstruction was carried out using Vee diagrams so that the resulting LKPD for osmosis practicum had all the criteria for the Vee diagram assessment score. Based on the results of the scores obtained on the reconstructed osmosis practicum LKPD, it shows that the LKPD is feasible and can be used in guiding students in osmosis practicum activities. From the results of the reconstruction carried out, it is hoped that the reconstructed products using Vee diagrams can guide students in constructing their own understanding. In addition, in the future, the reconstruction of LKPD using Vee diagrams can be further developed.

Abstract

Abstract

Natural Science learning at the elementary, high school and university levels is certainly closely related to the practicum learning method. Practical activities, experiments and observations of objects and direct phenomena can motivate students and can bridge students to gain direct experience in studying science phenomena that cannot be obtained from ordinary textbooks. In preparing laboratory activities, it is necessary to consider whether the practicum worksheet can guide and direct students to form knowledge or not. Most practicum worksheets in circulation today have not yet reached the expected criteria, one of which is a worksheet on plant respiration in one of the science packagebooks for junior high school / MTs grade 8. Based on this, it is necessary to conduct an analysis and reconstruction to improve the existing worksheets. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. There are three stages carried out in this study, namely: 1) analyzing the initial practicum worksheet; 2) conducting a limited trial on the initial practicum worksheet; and 3) reconstructing the practicum worksheet based on the trial results. Several weaknesses and obstacles were found during the trial which became the basis for improving the worksheets. Reconstruction of the worksheet was then carried out based on the suggestions for improvement obtained during the trial. After reconstruction, the practicum worksheet for respiration in plants experienced an increase in score, which was originally in the sufficient category (44%) to the very good category (83%).

Abstract

Practicum is a series of activities that allow students to apply their skills to produce proof of a concept being studied, practicum focuses on the design of laboratory activities (DKL) that are first prepared by educators or school institutions. The purpose of this study was to analyze and reconstruct DKL blood type tests based on the ABO system taken from a collection of DKL at a school, the DKL analysis used an instrument based on the Novak & Gowin (1984) vee diagram. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative, sampling was carried out by purposive sampling with one DKL blood type test ABO system taken from the practicum guidelines at a school compiled by the science lab team. Research activities follow the ANCOR stages (Analysis, Trial and Reconstruction). The results of the analyzed DKL research showed a value of 50% which means it is sufficient to be used, but there are deficiencies in the focus questions, records/data transformations, knowledge claims that are not in accordance with the vee diagram, so that a reconstruction is carried out which is expected to optimize the DKL in accordance with the vee diagram according to Novak & Gowin (1984) used by students and can support the objectives of the practicum activities.

Abstract

Implementing the Merdeka curriculum is a record of Indonesia's long journey of education dynamics. One of the reforms visible from implementing the Merdeka curriculum is the existence of science process skills (KPS), as stated in the learning outcomes, especially in the skills element. Diffusion and osmosis are materials that are consistently included in the curriculum. As one part of science learning, diffusion-osmosis cannot escape the practicum learning method that involves science process skills and needs to contain aspects of Vee Diagram knowledge construction. The ideal Laboratory Activity Design (DKL) as a support for diffusion-osmosis practicum activities is still minimal, especially since the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum is still relatively new. Through the descriptive qualitative research method with an analysis-try-reconstruction (ANCOR) approach, this research aims to analyze the quality of diffusion-osmosis student worksheets (DKL) in high school textbooks and then test and reconstruct the DKL. The analysis and pilot test findings showed that DKL was unsuitable for knowledge construction. The results of DKL reconstruction use aspects of the Vee Diagram and Science Process Skills (KPS) to align with the expected competency achievements in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the motion system practicum design used in SMA and the subject of this research is the laboratory activity design of the motion systems laboratory activity design used in schools. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The samples in this study were 3 samples of motion system in hard bone structure sub-material laboratory activity design, which were taken using a purposive sampling technique. This study uses an instrument developed based on the Vee Diagram component scoring table adapted from Novak and Gowin's book. Based on the instruments developed, the results of the analysis of this practicum student worksheet have several problems in terms of 1) the suitability of the student worksheet components, not yet following the demands of the 2013 Basic Curriculum Competency, and the title and objectives are not following the work steps and are not relevant to the object/phenomenon that appears so that causing this practicum to be difficult to execute, 3) construction of knowledge, questions have not led to phenomena that arise, are not connected with data interpretation and the conclusions that are built do not yet describe the title and objectives of the practicum. Meanwhile, based on the results of the analysis of the Vee Diagram scoring instrument, shows that the components of focus questions, objects/ events, concepts/ theories/ principles, transformation notes, and knowledge claims have not yet reached the maximum score so the circulating practicum worksheets do not support the Vee Diagram by Novak & Gowin components optimally so it needs to be reconstructed.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze students’ response of the Gallery Walk Method with the innovation of ArtSteps of Plant and Animal Classification and evaluate the obstacles in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted in grade X which consists of 15 students in Senior High School of Global Mandiri Jakarta. The instrument is the questionnaire and interviews. Based on the results of the questionnaire, we found that most students gave positive responses. More than three-quarters of students can understand the plant and animal classification material well, can express their creativity, and are more active during online learning. Students are also satisfied with their peers' presentations. According to the result of the Interview, the biggest challenge for the implementation is the internet network and the lack of real interaction with classmates. The recommendation is that students need to discuss each station for at least 15 minutes and twice in each station of Artsteps for more effectiveness.
