Abstract

Junior high school students need to be accustomed to thinking creatively. The 2015 TIMSS results show that the creative thinking ability of junior high school students still need to be optimized. This research aimed to discuss creative mathematical thinking ability based on sel efficacy on an independent learning through Google Classroom support. This research employed qualitative descriptive design. The population of this research was the students of class VIII. The subjects of the research were 6 students of class VIII selected based on three categories of self efficacy, they were: high, medium, and low. Two students were found in the high self-efficacy category, two students from the medium self-efficacy category and two students from the low self-efficacy category. The results of this research showed that students with high self-efficacy level were able to complete the four qualifications of creative thinking abilities, they were fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Students with the medium self-efficacy level were still having difficulty showing up ideas to determine the unusual way of being used. Students with low self-efficacy level had difficulty in understanding the problem so that it is only able to meet one qualification of creative thinking ability that is fluency. Based on the explanation of the results of this research, it can be concluded that no student with low self efficacy level has a high score of creative thinking ability

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability needs to be possessed by students because it is an essential ability recommended by NCTM. This research aims to describe students' mathematical communication ability in terms of self-confidence in Treffinger learning assisted by Schoology. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were students of class X AKL 2 in the 2020/2021 academic year which consisted of 12 students. The taking of research subjects in this study was determined through the purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the achievement of students' mathematical communication ability in terms of self-confidence in Schoology assisted Treffinger learning was very diverse. Mathematical communication ability in terms of self-confidence shows that students with high self-confidence can understand and master the three indicators, students with moderate self-confidence do not master one indicator, while students with low self-confidence have not yet understood and mastered the three indicators.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine PBL with scientific realistic approach assisted by Edmodo (PBL-PSR-E), learning PBL with scientific realistic approach (PBL-PSR) and scientific approach course (PS) in increasing the average mathematical literacy skills of learner; and to find out the difference of the average in mathematical literacy skills of learners using those three learnings. The population in this study were 270 students in class VIII SMP N 21 Semarang 2015/2016 school year in nine classes. The sampling using random sampling. Voted three sample groups is class VIII H as the experimental group 1, class VIII I as the experimental group 2, and VIII G as the control group. Analysis of the data using the gain test and one way ANOVA test. The results indicate that the application of PBL -PSR-E learning, PBL-PSR learning and PS learning can increase the average of VIII grade SMP N 21 Semarang student’s mathematical literacy using PBL-PSR-E learning more than the average of VIII grade SMP N 21 Semarang student’s mathematical literacy that have been taught using the PS but not more than the average of VIII grade SMP N 21 Semarang student’s mathematical literacy skills that have been taught using PBL-PSR learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference and increase of the mathematical literacy ability using PBL-PRS-E, PBL-PS and scientific approach, and to find out difference of the mathematical literacy ability between learning styles. This study belongs to quantitative research. The population in this study are 9th grade students SMP Negeri 1 Majenang, Cilacap academic year 2016/2017. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design. Then, methods of the study are test, questionnaire, and documentation. Data analysis was performed by one way anova, two way anova, and increase in the gain normalized. The results of the study are (1) the mathematical literacy ability of students in the experimental group 1 is better than the mathematical literacy ability of students in the experimental group 2 and control group, (2) there is no difference in the mathematical literacy ability between learning styles, (3) there is no interaction between the mathematical literacy ability based learning models and student's learning styles, and (4) ithe increase of students’ mathematical literacy ability in the experimental group 1 is better than in the control group but less than the increase of stuednts’ mathematical literacy ability in the experimental group 2. Eventually, this study suggests that 9 grade mathematics teacher in SMPN 1 Majenang can use PBL-PRS-E model to improve the learning result and mathematical literacy ability of students.
