Abstract

Potensi lahan yang terbatas menyebabkan terjadinya permasalahan pada lahan, yang kemudian mengarah pada permasalahan perkembangan wilayah. Terutama pada perkembangan permukiman. Sementara itu, Pertumbuhan penduduk yang meningkat berbanding terbalik dengan ketersediaan lahan. Situasi tersebut umum terjadi di berbagai wilayah, begitu juga di Kabupaten Halmahera Timur. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi lahan untuk pengembangan kawasan permukiman melalui ketersediaan dan kesesuaian lahan. Potensi lahan untuk permukiman dapat diidentifikasi melalui kesesuaian dan ketersediaannya. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Multi Criteria Evaluation (MCE). Indikator yang digunakan untuk kesesuaian lahan permukiman meliputi kemiringan lereng, genangan banjir, kerawanan longsor, drainase, tekstur tanah, kedalaman solum dan tipe geologi dimana analisisnya menggunakan pembobotan yang berdasarkan 5 (lima) orang pakar. Analisis ketersediaan lahan dilakukan dengan metode tumpangsusun peta pola ruang dan peta penggunaan lahan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa potensi lahan untuk pengembangan kawasan permukiman Kabupaten Halmahera Timur terdiri dari sangat sesuai (S1) seluas 12.356 ha (1,92%), sesuai (S2) seluas 60.385 ha (9,52%), sesuai marjinal (S3) seluas 21.632 ha (3,39) dan tidak sesuai (N) seluas 12.456 ha (1,93%).

Abstract

Produksi rumput laut kering Tarakan mengalami peningkatan sepanjang tahun 2012-2018 untuk budidaya Kappaphycus alvarezii dengan metode tanam rawai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai kualitas perairan pesisir di sekitar Pulau Tarakan dan untuk mengetahui kesesuaiannya untuk budidaya rumput laut. Parameter lingkungan untuk menentukan kualitas air adalah klorofil-a, suhu air, salinitas, pH, DO, TDS, kekeruhan, nitrat, fosfat, kedalaman air, kecepatan arus, proteksi, lokasi penelitian dan jarak antar pemukiman. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pengukuran in-situ dan ex-situ berdasarkan APHA (2005) menggunakan multi parameter Horiba U51 juga, klorofil-a dianalisis menggunakan metode spektrofotometri, kadar nitrat dianalisis menggunakan SNI 06-6989.79-2011 sedangkan fosfat dianalisis menggunakan SNI 06-6989.31-2005. Kesesuaian perairan dibagi menjadi 4 kelas, S1 (sangat sesuai), S2 (sesuai), S3 (sesuai marginal), dan N (tidak sesuai). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pantai Tarakan memiliki 3 kategori yaitu menurut marginal (S3) 13,20%, Sesuai (S2) 86,50%, dan Sangat Sesuai (S1) 0,30%. Kondisi eksisting pesisir Pulau Tarakan mendukung sebagai areal budidaya rumput laut K. alvarezii dengan potensi lahan untuk dikembangkan seluas 33896.73 ha.

Abstract

Pembangunan bandar udara baru dengan konsep aerotropolis di Kulon Progo telah menstimulus pembangunan dan mengubah wajah kawasan dari rural-oriented menjadi urban-oriented. Dampak negatif pertumbuhan yang cepat seperti munculnya fenomena urban sprawl perlu diantisipasi melalui perencanaan tata ruang yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi daya dukung berbasis kemampuan lahan pada penggunaan lahan eksisting dan rencana tata ruang. Metode yang digunakan untuk evaluasi daya dukung adalah matching criteria. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa 56,13% wilayah Kulon Progo didominasi oleh kelas kemampuan agak rendah hingga rendah (kelas V-VIII) dengan faktor pembatas utama berupa lereng. Evaluasi keselarasan dengan penutupan/penggunaan lahan 2020 menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar penggunaan lahan berada pada status selaras (S) dan selaras bersyarat (SB). Penggunaan lahan yang tidak selaras dengan daya dukungnya seluas 8.286,44 ha yang terdistribusi di bagian selatan. Sementara, evaluasi terhadap rencana tata ruang wilayah (RTRW) Kabupaten Kulon Progo menunjukkan bahwa 57% rencana selaras dengan kemampuan lahan. Namun demikian, daya dukung lahan di Kulon Progo dalam kondisi yang cukup baik. Intervensi perencanaan perlu dilakukan untuk wilayah-wilayah yang memiliki status selaras bersyarat dan tidak selaras.

Abstract

Penggunaan/tutupan lahan (LULC) merupakan faktor penting dalam pengelolaan lahan dan dapat mempengaruhi kebijakan di suatu wilayah. LULC memiliki potensi untuk berubah karena aspek fisik, ekonomi dan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan penggunaan/tutupan lahan (LULCC) di Kabupaten Deli Serdang periode 2010-2020 dan memprediksi LULC pada tahun 2030. Analisis dilakukan dengan menerapkan model spasial Cellular Automata-Markov Chain dengan faktor pendorong yang digunakan adalah jarak ke jalan raya, jarak ke sungai, kepadatan penduduk, jarak ke kecamatan, dan jarak ke Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kappa untuk klasifikasi citra adalah 0,86 (kategori sangat baik). Jenis LULC yang dominan di Kabupaten Deli Serdang adalah lahan perkebunan >45%, disusul sawah, pertanian lahan kering, hutan dan pemukiman serta lahan terbangun. Validasi model LULCC diperoleh nilai kappa sebesar 0,89 dan bermakna dapat digunakan untuk memprediksi model perubahan lahan pada tahun 2030. Pada tahun 2030, LULC yang akan meningkat secara signifikan adalah permukiman/lahan terbangun, dan pertanian lahan kering, yaitu masing-masing sebesar 21027,24 ha dan 4581,72 ha. Sedangkan hutan, perkebunan, dan sawah mengalami penurunan yang cukup signifikan yaitu sekitar 9487,26 ha, 8084,88 ha dan 7797,87 ha.

Abstract

Rapid urban expansion has intensified pressure on public green open spaces and reduced the ecological functions of urban landscapes. Urban agroforestry has increasingly been recognized as a relevant nature-based approach, as it reinforces ecological functions, enhances community well-being, and optimizes the multifunctionality of public green open spaces amid urbanization pressures. However, its sustainability and policy implications in limited urban public green spaces remain insufficiently explored. This study aims to develop evidence-based policy priorities for managing limited and spatially fragmented public green open spaces by integrating agroforestry as a core policy component through the combination of Multi-Aspect Sustainability Analysis (MSA) and Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). The method employed is a combination of Multi-Aspect Sustainability Analysis and Interpretive Structural Modeling to assess the sustainability of urban agroforestry systems. A sustainability index of 51.84% indicated a moderately sustainable condition, with strong performance in ecological, social, and infrastructure dimensions but weaker outcomes in economic and legal–institutional aspects. Key drivers included consumer dependence on agroforestry products, the availability of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for urban agroforestry management, and the economic value of agroforestry products (vegetables, fruits, timber, honey, livestock). The findings highlight the necessity of integrated, adaptive, and evidence-based policies to ensure the long-term sustainability of urban agroforestry systems and enhance the quality of public green open spaces.

Abstract

Background: The plantation sector has a strategic role in driving regional economic growth and improving community welfare, particularly in areas whose economic structure is dominated by agriculture. Kaur Regency is one of the regions where the agricultural and plantation sectors contribute significantly to the Regional Gross Domestic Product (GRDP). However, the development of plantation farming still faces obstacles such as production costs, price fluctuations, and capital limitations. Objective: This study aims to identify leading plantation commodities and analyze their financial feasibility. Methods: The determination of leading commodities was carried out using the Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift Share Analysis (SSA) methods based on secondary data (BPS Kaur Regency 2019 and 2024) and primary field survey data. Financial feasibility analysis used indicators including Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit–Cost Ratio (B/C), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR). A total of 45 farmers were selected as respondents through purposive sampling: 18 oil palm farmers, 15 coconut farmers, and 12 rubber farmers from three leading commodity sub-districts in Kaur Regency. Results: The analysis results show that oil palm, coconut, and rubber are leading commodities with comparative and competitive advantages in Kaur Regency. Financially, oil palm recorded the highest NPV (IDR 361,514,078; B/C ratio 9.21; IRR 59.9%), followed by coconut (NPV IDR 260,159,827; B/C ratio 5.52; IRR 34.57%), and rubber (NPV IDR 111,185,336; B/C ratio 4.21; IRR 44.73%). All three commodities remain feasible under sensitivity scenarios of a 10% cost increase and a 10% revenue decrease. Conclusion: Thus, the development of these three commodities has the potential to increase farmers' income and strengthen the regional economy.

Abstract

The potassium (K) Quantity-Intensity (Q-I) relationship results in important parameters, including the activity ratio of potassium at equilibrium (AReK), which indicates potassium availability in soil. Experiments to observe soil Q-I K relationship parameters are often complex, time-consuming, and do not include environmental variables. This research aims to model AReK using a machine learning (ML) approach. ML models applied are Random Forest (RF), Cubist, and Support Vector Machine (SVM) as the primary approaches, with Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) serving as a baseline. The dataset was derived from sixty-one observation points in Brebes, Central Java. The predictors were pH, organic carbon, clay, cation exchange capacity (CEC), exchangeable cations (Exc-Ca, Mg, K, Na), water soluble K, available K, K saturation, potential K, non-exchangeable K (NE-K), elevation, and slope. The response variable was the AReK. Variable selection was performed using Pearson correlation to eliminate highly correlated predictors and reduce multicollinearity. Exactly 75% of the data was utilized as the training set and 25% as the test set. Three metrics, i.e., MAE, RMSE, and R², were used in model evaluation. The results showed that the Cubist model could predict AReK with high accuracy (R2=0.9437) and low RMSE (0.5701) and MAE (0.3514). Based on the Cubist model, Exc-K, Exc-Mg, CEC, and Exc-Ca were the most important variables for predicting AReK. This model can be employed to support site-specific fertilizer recommendation strategies. To improve the performance of the model, it is necessary to add other predictor variables (e.g., soil physical properties, clay minerals, rainfall, temperature and soil moisture).

Abstract

Changes in land use and land cover (LULC) significantly impact ecosystem services (ES), often leading to land degradation and disrupting natural balance. This study examines how LULC changes have influenced total ecosystem services (TES) in Citarum Watershed over the past decade. Specifically, researchers analyze (1) the shifts in LULC and key ES components—water yield (WY), soil conservation (SC), and carbon storage (CS)—from 2010 to 2020, (2) the spatial relationship between land use intensity (LUI) and ES, and (3) the synchronization and distribution patterns of LUI and TES using a coupling coordination degree (CCD) model. The findings reveal significant LULC changes between 2010 and 2020, with bare/shrubland and agricultural areas expanding by 88.37% and 2.25%, while forest land and lakes declined by 0.78% and 0.09%. These transformations affected ES values, as WY and CS decreased by 15.01% and 4.98%, whereas SC increased by 12.03%. Overall, TES declined by 7.54%, with the steepest reduction (17.70%) observed in the downstream region. The coupling coordination analysis highlights an imbalance between LUI and TES, with 65 to 68% of sub-districts classified as imbalanced. These results underscore the urgent need for integrated land-use planning strategies to restore ecosystem balance and promote sustainability in Citarum Watershed.

Abstract

Access to food is a human right. The destruction of paddy fields due to changes in use in various regions in Indonesia affects the national food supply. The contribution of domestic rice is decreasing, and the dependence on imported rice is increasing. In the long term, this phenomenon will threaten efforts to fulfil the adequacy of the staple food rice for the growing population, thereby increasing the potential for a food crisis. This study analyses the decline in domestic rice sufficiency due to the destruction of paddy fields in Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province. The method used in this study is mixed, consisting of visual image interpretation, map overlay, and descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that the average rate of destruction of paddy fields in Banyumas Regency from 2007 to 2019 was 102.6 hectares per year, concentrated around Purwokerto District, which is the capital of Banyumas Regency . The potential loss of rice production is 1,189,580 kilograms per year of harvested dry grain, equivalent to IDR 5,709,984,000.00.
