Abstract

Pemberian Makanan Pendamping Air Susu Ibu (MP-ASI) merupakan salah faktor yang penting dalam pertumbuhan dan perkembangan balita. Kader posyandu adalah ujung tombak pelayanan kesehatan di masyarakat yang memiliki peran strategis dalam mendampingi ibu dalam pemberian MP-ASI serta pemantauan status gizi balita. Angka presentasi wasting di Puskesmas Trauma Center sebesar 11,9%, stunting 15,8% dan berat badan kurang 17,2% pada tahun 2024. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan kader posyandu tentang MP-ASI. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini dengan mengisi lembar pretest dilanjutkan dengan memberikan penyuluhan terkait materi MP-ASI dan mengisi lembar posttest. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan selama pada bulan April 2025 pada 55 kader posyandu. Analisis data menggunakan uji non-parametrik yaitu Uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan MP-ASI (p=0,017). Kesimpulan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah penyuluhan yang diberikan kepada kader posyandu terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka mengenai pemberian Makanan Pendamping ASI (MP-ASI).

Abstract

Keamanan pangan jajanan anak sekolah dasar merupakan isu penting dalam kesehatan masyarakat karena melibatkan kelompok usia rentan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi keamanan pangan jajanan di SDN 009 Karang Asam, Samarinda. Metode yang digunakan meliputi survei lapangan, observasi praktik higiene pedagang, serta uji cepat terhadap kandungan bahan tambahan pangan berbahaya, yaitu formalin, boraks, rhodamin B, dan methanil yellow pada jenis jajanan es teh dan melakukan pengamatan hygiene dan sanitasi pada terang bulan mini dan jelly. Hasil uji laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa seluruh sampel negatif terhadap bahan berbahaya tersebut. Namun, ditemukan kelemahan dalam aspek penyajian dan kebersihan, seperti makanan disajikan terbuka dan penggunaan air yang tidak terverifikasi kualitasnya. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa keamanan pangan tidak hanya ditentukan oleh kandungan kimia, tetapi juga oleh praktik higiene pedagang, edukasi konsumen, dan pengawasan lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pelatihan rutin bagi pedagang, integrasi edukasi gizi dalam kurikulum, serta penguatan program kantin sehat sebagai upaya preventif dan promotif terhadap risiko pangan tidak aman di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women remains a pressing nutritional issue in Indonesia, particularly in Samarinda City. This community program aimed to improve the nutritional status of pregnant women with or at risk of CED through the provision of local food-based supplementary feeding (PMT) and the empowerment of community health cadres. The intervention took place at Bengkuring Health Center from April to December 2024, targeting 40 pregnant women. Activities included cadre training, preparation of nutritious local meals, and monitoring of Body Mass Index (BMI) before and after the intervention. Results indicated a significant increase in average BMI (p < 0.05), although the duration of PMT was not significantly associated with BMI improvement. The program successfully engaged the community in health-focused food preparation and raised awareness among pregnant women about the importance of maternal nutrition. These findings support the effectiveness of local PMT as a tool for both nutritional intervention and sustainable community empowerment. In the long term, such initiatives can help reduce the prevalence of CED and contribute to healthier pregnancy outcomes. Continued collaboration across sectors is essential to ensure the sustainability of this program.

Abstract

Introduction: Nutrition education is crucial in promoting a healthy lifestyle, including nutritious food consumption, to prevent anemia and stunting in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. The teenage years represent a crucial phase characterized by significant physical and psychological maturation, essential for optimal growth and development. Within this period, adolescents have distinct physiological and psychological requirements. Furthermore, nutritional deficiencies during this time can pose significant health challenges. This study evaluated the association between nutrition education and knowledge of healthy behaviors in Samarinda adolescents. Methods: This study used an action study among 59 high school students (10% overweight, 15-18 years) in Samarinda. Three meetings at every school, with pre-test, nutrition education, Kahoot game, and post-test. All participants were given information regarding the benefits and risks of the program before participation and signed an informed consent. A questionnaire measured knowledge of balanced nutrition, MyPlate contents, and physical activity. Paired t-test was used for the statistical analysis. Results:The majority of participants were female (80%), had normal nutritional status (63%), and did not regularly consume iron tablets (95%). Most participants knew about anemia from their parents (88%), so they suggested nutrition education such as anemia through face-to-face training and social media. An improvement in knowledge before and after face-to-face nutritional education was found in this study (p<0.001)Conclusion: There is an effect of providing education to increase knowledge in nutrition education among adolescents.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the health problems whose prevalence continues to increase in society, especially among the productive age. This study aims to determine the risk factors for hypertension in the productive age community in the work area of the North Sangatta Health Center. The research method used in this study is obsevively analytical with a case control design. Data were obtained from demographic data questionnaires and observation sheets for blood pressure calculations with a sample of 138 people. The variables analyzed included demographic factors (age, gender, education, occupation, ethnicity), lifestyle (smoking), and medical factors (family history of hypertension and diabetes). The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between age (P = < 0.05), occupation (P = >0.008), diabetes mellitus (P<0.001), hereditary history of hypertension (P>0.009) and the incidence of hypertension, while sex (P = >0.85), education (P>0.069), ethnicity (P>0.067), and smoking habits (P>0.170) did not have a significant relationship with the incidence of hypertension in the productive age community. It is proven that age, occupation, diabetes mellitus, and a history of hypertension are risk factors for the increase in hypertension cases in the work area of the North Sangatta Health Center.

Abstract

Penyakit anemia kerap kali menjadi permasalahan kesehatan pada remaja, khususnya remaja putri. Konsumsi Tablet Tambah Darah (TTD) adalah salah satu cara yang dapat ditempuh untuk mencegah terjadinya anemia pada remaja putri. Rendahnya kepatuhan remaja dalam mengonsumsi Tablet Tambah Darah secara teratur menjadi salah satu kendala dalam penanganan permasalahan ini. Program dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran remaja putri terkait pentingnya konsumsi Tablet Tambah Darah (TTD) sebagai upaya untuk mencegah terjadinya penyakit anemia. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan program ini adalah penyuluhan, yang didalamnya terdapat pemaparan materi terkait pentingnya konsumsi Tablet Tambah Darah bagi remaja putri, pemeriksaan kesehatan, dan kegiatan tanya jawab. Dampak dari program ini diukur dengan menggunakan soal pretest dan posttest yang diberikan kepada para siswa sebelum dilaksanakannya penyuluhan dan setelah dilaksanakannya penyuluhan. Hasil rata-rata pretest dari 30 siswi sebelum dilakukannya penyuluhan adalah 52 dan rata-rata nilai post test adalah 68. Artinya ada peningkatan pengetahuan meskipun tidak signifikan setelah mengikuti penyuluhan. Tidak signifikannya peningkatan pengetahuan setelah dilakukannya penyuluhan ini dipengaruhi oleh beberapa hal, seperti beberapa siswi tidak mendengarkan materi secara keseluruhan, ruangan yang bising dan waktu yang terbatas.

Abstract

Loss to follow (LTFU) -up among HIV patients, defined as failure to continue therapy as schduled,increases the risk of drug resistance, deteriorating health conditions, and death due to HIV-relatedcomplications. This study aimed to analyze the survival of HIV patients againts LTFU events amongthose undergoing antiretroviral therapy (ARV) in Samarinda City. Secondary data from the SIHAdatabase (2023-2024) were utilized. Kaplan-Meier analysis was applied to evaluate the factors ofgender, residence, population group, and timing of ARV initiation associated with the risk of LTFU.The results showed that gender and residance were not significantly associated with the risk of LTFU.However, specific population groups, such as children of PLHIV and pregnant women, exhibitedhigher vulnerability and lower survival rates (log rank = 0.015). ART initiation within ≤ 1 monthsignificantly improved survival probability compared to initiation after &gt; 1 month. These findinghighlight that while gender and residance do not significantly influence LTFU, the vulnerability ofspesific populations and the critical importance of early ART initiation are key factors. It isrecommende to develop targeted interventions focusing on vulnerable groups, such as children ofPLHIV and pregnant women, to enhance their survival rate. Additionally, strategies promoting ARTinitiation within ≤ 1 month are esential to improve treatment sustainability.

Abstract

A healthy school environment is vital in promoting the well-being of students, teachers, and the school community. This study aimed to enhance teachers' knowledge and implementation of healthy school practices through a community service program. The initiative involved socialization and training sessions targeting elementary and junior high school teachers in Bontang. The program was structured into three phases: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Educational materials covering healthy school concepts, balanced nutrition, mental health, and environmental assessments were developed, followed by training conducted at Puri Senyiur Hotel, Samarinda, East Kalimantan, from December 1-4, 2024. A total of 83 teachers participated, receiving instruction from health experts. Knowledge assessments were conducted before and after training, analysed using the Wilcoxon test due to non-normal data distribution. Results showed a significant median difference of 20 in knowledge scores (p = 0.0001), indicating substantial improvement post-training. Although the assessment measured short-term effects, the findings suggest a positive increase in awareness. Regular teacher training on healthy schools is essential for preventing malnutrition and fostering better health practices among students. This initiative aligns with governmental efforts to promote healthy eating behaviors in schools. Sustaining such programs requires collaboration between healthcare professionals, universities, and other institutions, along with integrating nutrition education into school curricula.

Abstract

Keamanan pangan jajanan anak sekolah merupakan isu krusial dalam upaya perlindungan kesehatan, terutama terhadap paparan bahan tambahan pangan berbahaya. Salah satu zat pewarna sintetis yang sering disalahgunakan dalam produk pangan adalah Rhodamin B, yang seharusnya hanya digunakan dalam industri tekstil. Rhodamin B bersifat toksik dan karsinogenik, serta berisiko tinggi terhadap kesehatan, terutama jika dikonsumsi oleh anak-anak. Berbagai laporan Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM) menunjukkan masih adanya produk jajanan di sektor informal yang mengandung Rhodamin B. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi keberadaan Rhodamin B pada saus jajanan pentol yang dijual di lingkungan SMP Negeri 15 Samarinda. Dua sampel saus diambil dari pedagang di dalam dan luar area sekolah, kemudian dianalisis di Laboratorium Kesehatan Daerah (Labkesda) Kota Samarinda menggunakan metode spektrofotometri. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa kedua sampel negatif mengandung Rhodamin B. Dengan demikian, pada saat pemeriksaan, saus jajanan pentol yang dikonsumsi siswa dinyatakan aman dari zat pewarna berbahaya tersebut. Namun, pengawasan berkala dan edukasi kepada pedagang serta masyarakat tetap diperlukan untuk menjaga keberlanjutan keamanan pangan di lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

Abstrak: Provinsi Kalimantan Timur merupakan salah satu provinsi di Indonesia dengan jumlah penderita obesitas tertinggi. Prevalensi gizi lebih dan penyakit degeneratif lebih banyak terjadi pada perempuan dibandingkan laki-laki. Gizi berlebih yang tidak dikelola dengan baik perlu mendapat perhatian serius karena dapat menurunkan kesehatan, produktivitas kerja, dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Selain itu konsumsi sayur dan buah masih rendah yaitu 11,49%, dan di Kota Samarinda sebesar 11,59%. Tujuan dilaksanakan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan edukasi gizi seimbang untuk meningkatkan status gizi Ibu Rumah Tangga (IRT) menjadi status gizi baik Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode edukasi gizi dengan menggunakan modul gizi seimbang, template isi piringku, dan model makanan, sebelum diberikan edukasi gizi diberikan pre-test dan sesudah edukasi gizi diberikan post-test yang terdiri dari 15 pertanyaan pilihan ganda terkait dengan materi edukasi gizi seimbang Mitra pendukung pengabdian ini adalah Kelurahan Air Putih dan mitra peserta edukasi gizi sebanyak 21 orang. Hasil sudah terlaksana pengabdian dengan baik dan lancar, menunjukkan peningkatan skor pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi gizi sebesar 28,20%.Abstract: East Kalimantan Province is one of the provinces in Indonesia with the highest number of obesity sufferers. The prevalence of overnutrition and degenerative diseases is more common in women than men. Excessive nutrition that is not managed properly needs serious attention because it can reduce health, work productivity and improve people's welfare. Apart from that, consumption of vegetables and fruit is still low, namely 11.49%, and in Samarinda City it is 11.59%. The aim of this service is to provide balanced nutrition education to improve the nutritional status of Housewives (IRT) towards good nutritional status. This service uses nutritional education methods using balanced nutrition modules, my plate contents templates, and food models. Before being given nutrition education, a pre-test is given and after being given nutrition education, a post-test is given which consists of 15 multiple choice questions related to balanced nutrition education materialPartners supporting this service are Air Putih District and 21 partners participating in nutrition education. The results of service that was carried out well and smoothly showed an increase in knowledge scores before and after nutrition education by 28.20%.
