Abstract

This research explores the potential impact of blockchain technology on fincancial transactions in Islamic banking, addressing challenges related to security, transparency, and efficiency. Employing a multifaceted approach, the study assesses the benefits of blockchain in Islamic finance through literature reviews and empirical investigations. Notably, blockchain enhances the security of financial transactions by leveraging robust cryptocurrency and decentralized consensus mechanisms, thereby mitigating fraud and manipulation risks. Additionally, blockchain facilitates currency exchange, a critical aspect of Islamic banking, ensuring transparency and adherence to Sharia standards. The research identifies increased efficiency in Sharia banking operations as a key advantage of blockchain technology, attributing it to the automated processes that reduce organizational costs and transaction processing times. Furthermore, blockchain enables more streamlined cross-border transactions, reduces reliance on external entities, and enhances market liquidity. Despite these benefits, the study emphasizes certain challenges in implementing blockchain in Islamic banking, such as the need for youth education, establishing a robust infrastructure, and gaining community trust in new technologies. Successful integration requires collaboration among Sharia banking organizations, regulators, and stakeholders, with clear guidelines and a deep understanding of blockchain innovation. Overcoming these challenges is crucial for unlocking the full potential of blockchain in enhancing the security, transparency, and efficiency of monetary transactions within Islamic finance.

Abstract

The development of technology is advancing at an increasingly rapid pace. One of these technological developments is the emergence of cryptocurrency in the digital era. Cryptocurrency, as a decentralized digital asset, has rapidly developed and become one of the main financial instruments in the global market. However, from the perspective of Islamic economic law, various issues arise regarding the validity of these transactions, particularly concerning the principles of muamalah jurisprudence such as justice, transparency, avoidance of riba (interest), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (gambling). This article aims to identify the challenges and solutions of Islamic economic law that can be applied in cryptocurrency in accordance with Islamic principles. This research uses the library research method. The results highlight that while cryptocurrency poses regulatory and ethical challenges, it also offers opportunities for efficiency and inclusion if guided by Islamic principles. The study concludes that adaptive regulation and Islamic economic legal frameworks are essential to ensure transparency, fairness, and justice in digital finance.

Abstract

This study analyzes the relevance of Abu Yusuf's fiscal thought in the context of contemporary Indonesian fiscal policy, particularly during Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa's tenure as Minister of Finance. Indonesia faces a budgetary dilemma between spending efficiency and equitable distribution of fiscal burdens. Through Kitab al-Kharaj, Abu Yusuf offers a conceptual framework that balances economic efficiency with social justice in public financial management. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, analyzing primary sources including Kitab al-Kharaj and secondary sources comprising policy documents and academic literature. Analysis is conducted comparatively-descriptively through three stages: concept identification, principle comparison, and relevance evaluation. Findings reveal fundamental alignment between Abu Yusuf's principles and Purbaya's policies regarding budget allocation efficiency, subsidy control, and welfare orientation. Both approaches emphasize transparency, accountability, and proportionality in state financial management. However, implementing Abu Yusuf's principles in Indonesia still faces structural challenges including inter-regional fiscal distribution inequality, weak accountability enforcement, and minimal ethical dimensions in fiscal policy. This study recommends integrating classical Islamic economic values into Indonesian fiscal policy formulation to strengthen moral foundations and social justice.

Abstract

Tourism is a strategic sector contributing to regional economic growth. Although Lumajang Regency offers prominent natural destinations, data-based insights into tourist preferences remain limited. This study analyzed tourist preferences using Google Reviews through a text mining approach that integrated the density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) algorithm and lexicon-based sentiment analysis. Data were collected via web scraping from six major destinations, yielding 16,904 reviews, of which 9,800 contained analyzable text. The text data were preprocessed using the term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF–IDF) to generate numerical representations prior to clustering. Using DBSCAN with parameters ε = 0.8 and MinPts = 4, one main cluster comprising 9,353 reviews and 447 outliers was identified. The main cluster was dominated by keywords such as waterfall, beautiful, and scenery, emphasizing the visual appeal of Tumpak Sewu as Lumajang’s tourism icon, while the outliers reflected reviews from international visitors and practical travel information. Sentiment analysis showed that most reviews were positive (68.0%), followed by neutral (24.1%) and negative (7.9%). These findings indicate a predominantly positive perception of Lumajang tourism, though accessibility and facilities require improvement. The study demonstrates the potential of digital review data for developing data-driven tourism management and promotion strategies.

Abstract

Krisis ekonomi tahun 1997 mendorong revitalisasi sektor perbankan, termasuk melalui lembaga pembiayaan seperti modal ventura.

Abstract

The utilization of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) is a strategic effort to enhance community health self-reliance, reduce dependence on synthetic drugs, and preserve local biodiversity. In Nagari Batu Tanjung, Talawi District, Sawahlunto City, the potential for TOGA is high due to favorable geography and extensive backyard land. However, its use remains limited because of low herbal literacy, minimal organic cultivation skills, and the absence of a properly managed communal garden. This community service program aimed to empower residents through education, direct practice, and guidance in cultivating and processing medicinal plants. Activities included awareness sessions on TOGA’s benefits, land preparation, planting of herbal seeds (ginger, turmeric, cardamom, sungkai, Java turmeric, aloe vera), and the establishment of a model TOGA garden. Based on pre- and post-test results from 40 participants, knowledge and cultivation skills improved significantly—from 40% to 95% of participants understanding proper TOGA cultivation. Active collaboration among residents, village officials, and students ensured the program’s success. Through Q&A sessions and hands-on practice, the community gained practical skills suited to local conditions. The established TOGA garden now serves as a learning medium, a health-supporting initiative, and a foundation for developing herbal products that promote sustainable economic empowerment.

Abstract

The development of fintech and digitalization in indonesia provides opportunities for financial product innovation in line with the concept of maqashid al-syariah. This study aims to analyze the implementation of BSI's digital hajj savings product services and their relevance in strengthening the five dimensions of maqashid al-syariah. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach through literature analysis sourced from academic journals, books, and the official websites of OJK and BSI. The findings of this study indicate that the application of fintech in digital hajj savings has fulfilled the five main dimensions of maqashid al-syariah, namely hifdz al-din (religion) supported by the availability of online hajj account opening and siskohat integration, hifdz al-nafs (soul) is strengthened by youth hajj savings that can guarantee readiness when performing hajj and digital financial transparency that can reduce customers' mental concerns, hifdz al-aql (reason) facilitated through the young hajj literacy program and automatic notifications that can help customers make smart decisions, hifdz al-nasl (descendants) is realized through the young hajj savings product, which functions to secure a hajj quota for descendants who are still underage, and hifdz al-mal (wealth) through the mudharabah agreement that generates benefits and is free of administrative costs, thus enabling wealth to be managed well and optimally. The conclusion shows that hajj fintech is a strategic tool based on maqasid al-syariah for the sustainable development of Islamic and inclusive banking in the digital era

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the ijarah contract in the working system of digital platforms from a contemporary Islamic jurisprudence perspective. The research method used is a qualitative method with a literature study approach that examines classical sources, contemporary fatwas, and modern research related to the digital economy. The results show that digital platforms such as Gojek still fulfill the main elements of the ijarah contract, namely clarity of benefits (manfa'ah), clarity of ujrah, and clarity of implementation time that are clearly displayed in the application. The click mechanism in the application is considered a valid form of digital ijab and qabul as long as it demonstrates the willingness of both parties. In addition, an automatic, algorithm-based tariff calculation system can increase transparency, although dynamic tariff changes have the potential to create elements of gharar if not clearly regulated. The division of commissions between the platform and the worker partner based on a certain percentage is also acceptable in contemporary Islamic jurisprudence as long as it is agreed upon from the start and does not harm either party
