Abstract

Advanced education system and globalization are attractive towards the students to move a foreign country for achieving higher education. Indonesia is a multicultural and multi-linguistic country where every year hundreds of students coming to get higher education in Masters and PhD in various disciplines of education which are taught in Indonesian language. There are number of students joining Universitas Airlangga for the purpose    of higher education on different programs. The current investigation defines the problem of language barrier is causing of stress in regard of academics among international students. There were 70 international students contributed in current study. The study finds 68% of participants suffering with the stress of language barrier in academics for international students. The findings of current study indicated the mainstream of international students experiencing in adopting the language barrier which is becoming the cause of stress for them. This study also suggested to the administrative stack-holders of Universitas Airlangga to pay attention this issue and need to overcome this major problem by organizing some events within the campus with local students. Such recommendations will help to cope this issue among international students by learning in a lenient and practical way.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of career guidance services in high school using the Stufflebeam evaluation model, namely Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP). This evaluative study used a qualitative descriptive method with data sources, namely the principal, deputy principal, coordinator counselor, counselor,,,class teacher, subject teachers, and students. Data collection in this evaluation monitoring consisted of: (1) open and in-depth interviews; (2) direct observation / observation; and (2) written documents. Data collection was carried out in September - December 2020. The results showed that the evaluation of the Context, Input, Process, Product components in the implementation of career guidance services in SMA was in accordance with the indicators given. Evaluation results are also very important because they can be used to make analysis and follow up in maximizing the career guidance service program. In addition, guidance and counseling teachers can also be accountable for their duties to interested parties such as school principals, supervisors, parents, and other stakeholders. From the results of this study It is hoped that it can provide input and suggestions for BK teachers to continue to carry out evaluations on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meninjau peran dari pendidikan bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus dari perspektif psikologi perkembangan. Selaras degan prinsip psikologi yang memiliki kontribusi penting untuk memahami, memaparkan, memprediksi, mengontrol, dan memecahkan masalah anak berkebutuhan khusus. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Strategi pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah studi dokumentasi. Analisis data penelitian ini yaitu: (1) reduksi data; (2) penyajian data; dan (3) verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah peran penting psikologi dalam memahami, menjelaskan, memprediksi, mengontrol, dan memecahkan masalah anak berkebutuhan khusus. Kolaborasi kelompok akan memberikan dampak yang optimal untuk membantu anak berkebutuhan khusus mengembangkan kemampuan atau kecakapan hidupnya di lingkungan fisik, sosial, dan spiritualnya. Psikolog menerapkan teori psikologi dalam memahami, menjelaskan, memprediksi, mengontrol, dan memecahkan masalah anak berkebutuhan khusus. Teori perkembangan psikologi perkembangan menerapkan teori dan praktik perkembangan kognitif, afektif, moral, sosial, dan fisik anak dengan kebutuhan khusus.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian: (a) mengukur Strategi pembelajaran pada anak usia dini apa saja yang efektif digunakan selama masa pandemi Covid-19? dan (b) Faktor pendukung dan penghambat efektivitas pembelajaran selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan telaah literatur secara sistematis menggunakan proses Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) dengan menetapkan kriteria inklusi yakni artikel yang dipublikasikan mulai tahun 2019-2020 karena mulai tahun 2019 pandemi covid 19 timbul, dan menerapkan strategi pembelajaran selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Kriteria eksklusinya adalah ketika literatur bukan merupakan peer-reviewed. Hasil peneltian menunjukkan bahwa pada penerapan strategi pembelajaran di masing-masing negara, kesemuanya menggunakan strategi pembelajaran online. Namun yang banyak digunakan dalam pembelajaran online adalah penggunaan apalikasi Zoom disertai dengan bantuan video. Faktor pendukung strategi pembelajaran diantaranya bersumber dari guru, orang tua dan rasio guru dan anak sedangkan faktor penghambatnya bersumber dari keterbatasan waktu, kemampuan orang tua dalam menggunakan teknologi yang terbatas.

Abstract

Competency pedagogic is the ability to manage the learning of participants learners that includes an understanding of the participant students, The design and implementation of learning , evaluation of the results of learning, and the development of the participant students to actualize various potentials that its ( Mulyasa, 2009). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Contextual Teaching and Learning training to improve the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers on Sebatik Island. Mechanical collection of data in the form of tool measuring scale Likert, a matter of knowledge and observation guide. Design research that is used is pretest-posttest one group design with a number of subjects as much as 30 teachers of the school base . This study uses the analysis of the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results of the analysis of the data shows the value of significance 0.000 <0.05 which means that there are differences in the mean scores of competence pedagogic between the results of the pretest participants of the training contextual teaching and learning with the results of the posttest participant training contextual teaching and learning.

Abstract

Children with ADHD usually have difficulty on performing on-task behaviors, that relates to their ability of sustaining attention. This problem often results in poor academic performance and academic failure at school. Therefore, intervention is required to increase their on-task behavior that can improve the ability to sustain their attention. Behavior modification with shaping technique has been proved effective for treating ADHD children with attention problem. This study used shaping technique and token economy as the reinforcement technique to increase the duration of on-task behavior. The participant of this study was a 7-year-8-months-old boy who met some criteria of ADHD predominantly inattentive type in DSM V. The research method used is single subject with ABA design. This study used four instruments, namely ADHD-criterion checklist, ABC observation sheet, behavior observation sheet, and reinforcement inventory. The result showed that shaping technique can increase the duration of on-task behavior gradually from 3 until 16 minutes, but decreased until 13 minutes in post-intervention. This increase occurs since the shaping and token system were applied simultaneously, and extraneous variables were controlled. Keywords: ADHD, predominantly inattentive type, on-task behavior, shaping technique, token economy Abstrak: Anak-anak dengan ADHD mengalami kesulitan dalam menampilkan perilaku on-task yang berhubungan dengan kemampuan mempertahankan perhatian. Hal ini menyebabkan kinerja akademik yang lemah dan kegagalan akademik di sekolah. Untuk meminimalkan dampak tersebut, intervensi dibutuhkan untuk me-ningkatkan perilaku on-task yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mempertahankan perhatian. Penelitian ini menggunakan intervensi dengan teknik shaping dan token economy untuk meningkatkan durasi perilaku on-task. Seorang anak laki-laki yang didiagnosa ADHD predominantly inattentive type berdasarkan kriteria DSM V menjadi partisipan. Metode yang digunakan adalah single subject dengan desain ABA, meliputi pre test, intervensi, dan post-test. Empat jenis instrument digunakan untuk koleksi data, yaitu lembar checklist kriteria ADHD, lembar observasi ABC, lembar observasi perilaku, dan reinforcement inventory. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik shaping dapat meningkatkan durasi perilaku secara bertahap dari 3 hingga 16 menit, namun menurun sampai 13 menit saat pasca intervensi. Peningkatan durasi perilaku on-task terjadi karena penerapan teknik shaping dan token economy secara bersamaan, serta adanya kontrol terhadap variabel eksternal yang dapat mengganggu atensi partisipan.

Abstract

Student engagement is an important aspect of an individual's school adaptation and adjustment to changes . Students who engage in learning will be more likely to succeed in their studies and get good performance. This study aimed to determine the effect of positive emotions on student engagement with academic psychological capital as a mediator. This study adopted a survey method in which 396 seventh grade students of nine junior high schools in Surabaya city participated in cluster random sampling and stratified random sampling was employed as recruitment strategies. The data collected were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares approach. Results indicate that academic psychological capital partially mediates the influence of positive emotions on student engagement. Partial mediation shows that positive emotions have a direct influence on students' engagement to the existence of academic psychological capital as a mediator.

Abstract

Limited job opportunities amidst high competition in job-seeking during the pandemic can create a sense of insecurity in competing for jobs. This study aimed to help individual overcome feelings of insecurity and increase confidence in competing for jobs in the pandemic era. The study used a psychoeducation program to improve Optimism and Confidence with Appreciative Inquiry approach. The intervention was held in virtual space, through a webinar that was attended by 33 participants. The data collection technique used a sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out using paired sample t-test. The result showed that there was a significant difference in the Optimistic dimension (t=2.528; p=0.020) and there was a significant trend in the Confidence variable (t=1.930; p=0.068). Psychoeducation with the application of the online learning model and Appreciative Inquiry approach can increase individual confidence, especially in the aspect of optimism.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan dalam mencari tahu mengenai apakah ada hubungan antara secure attachment orang tua dengan penyesuaian diri. Secure attachment orang tua adalah ikatan afeksi antara dua individu, yaitu orang tua dan anak mempunyai pengaruh yang cukup besar disebabkan terjalinnya hubungan yang erat. Sementara itu, penyesuaian diri yaitu kemampuan seseorang untuk sukses dalam menyelesaikan keadaan, masalah, serta tekanan batin dalam seseorang agar mendapatkan keselarasan antara dirinya sendiri dan tuntutan yang diinginkan oleh lingkungannya. Terdapat sebanyak 126 partisipan dalam penelitian pada siswa SMP islamic boarding school. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah the inventory of parent attachment scale oleh Armsden dan Greenberg dan self-adjustment scale milik Schneiders. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik korelasi Spearman's Rho. Hasil dari penelitian ditemukan adanya hubungan secure attachment orang tua dengan penyesuaian diri pada siswa SMP islamic boarding school (r(126)=.589; p=.000).

Abstract

This study aims to find out e-learning strategies for child with special needs in ECEP (Early Childhood Education Program). This research was done at Laboratorium PAUD Anak Ceria in Surabaya. E-learning strategies for child with special needs can be identified through interviews with the head of laboratory and the teacher. Based on the results of the research, e-learning strategies for child with special needs is using TLC learning system and still refers to 2013 curriculum. In e-learning based learning, the main media that parents, students, and also teachers needed are the internet and video conference application, to be able to communicate with each other (video call) and send videos of students activities at home while they’re studying. To make an efficient learning program, parents need to prepare facilities for students to acces e-learning, while teachers need to prepare the teaching material that suitable for e-learning based learning. E-learning strategies will run optimally if there is good cooperation between teachers and parents in educating and motivating students during e-learning era.
