Abstract

This study explored strategies to enhance learning motivation among psychology students in the Statistics course at Airlangga University. Many students initially perceived statistics as a difficult and irrelevant subject, often causing anxiety and disengagement. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered from five students through semi-structured interviews and were analyzed thematically. The findings revealed five central themes: students’ negative initial perceptions of statistics, the importance of connecting statistical concepts to real-world psychological practice, the role of peer and lecturer support in maintaining emotional engagement, the effectiveness of interactive and visual learning methods, and the use of personal strategies such as self-reflection and goal setting. These results underscore the importance of fostering autonomy, competence, and social relatedness in academic settings, suggesting that motivational challenges in complex courses such as Statistics can be addressed through humanistic and contextually relevant learning strategies.

Abstract

One manifestation of digitalization within the educational sector is the integration of Learning Management Systems (LMS) into the instructional process. This study aims to synthesize and map the literature on the supporting factors for the successful implementation of LMS. The research employs a scoping review approach, with article selection conducted in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 framework. Based on 14 articles that met the predefined inclusion criteria, five critical success factors for LMS implementation in schools were identified: (1) leadership and institutional management; (2) infrastructure and facilities; (3) teacher acceptance and competence; (4) parental and student support; and (5) school climate. These five factors are pivotal and intrinsically interconnected. The school principal's leadership serves as the primary catalyst for ensuring the sustainability of LMS implementation. Furthermore, teacher competence must be optimized through professional development and balanced by a supportive school climate. Additionally, parental participation and student enthusiasm constitute significant facilitators in the implementation process. These findings imply that an LMS provides schools with the opportunity to transition toward a digital ecosystem by prioritizing school climate, establishing clear LMS policies through effective leadership, and engaging both parents and students to ensure the success of the pedagogical process.

Abstract

Since the early 21st century, bullying has been a central focus for scholars, with various forms, such as relational, physical, cyber, and social bullying, receiving extensive attention. However, the role of genetic and hereditary factors in bullying remains underexplored. This study systematically reviews 31 scholarly articles published between January 2000 and December 2021. Articles were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria, including methodological rigor, relevance to genetic influences on bullying, and clear population samples. Data sources included Google Scholar, ResearchGate, SAGE Journals, and ERIC, with keywords such as “bullying and genetics,” “bullying and hereditary,” and “family genetics involvement.” The findings reveal significant associations between genetic predispositions and bullying behaviors. For example, genetic factors were found to account for approximately 70–77% of bullying perpetration and victimization in multiple studies, highlighting a strong hereditary influence. Traits such as impulsivity and aggression, often linked to genetic predispositions, were also shown to interact with environmental factors such as family dynamics and peer relationships, amplifying bullying tendencies. These results underscore the critical role of genetic and hereditary transmission in shaping bullying behaviors across generations. The study emphasizes the need for a multidisciplinary approach that integrates genetic research with environmental interventions to address bullying effectively. Practical implications include the development of targeted anti-bullying programs that consider individual genetic susceptibility alongside fostering supportive family and school environments to reduce the intergenerational transmission of bullying behaviors.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study explores the pivotal role of intrinsic motivation in driving the professional development of early childhood education (ECE) and kindergarten teachers, focusing on how it influences their teaching practices, adaptability, and overall job satisfaction. Methodology: A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, involving purposively selected ECE and kindergarten teachers from multiple schools. Participants had at least five years of teaching experience and demonstrated active engagement in professional skill development. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews and participatory observations and then analyzed using thematic analysis to uncover recurring patterns and insights. Main Findings: The study reveals that intrinsic motivation significantly shapes the professional growth of ECE teachers. Motivated teachers are likelier to adopt innovative teaching methods, integrate new technologies into their classrooms, and demonstrate resilience in managing challenges. They display a heightened sense of responsibility for their students’ holistic development and report greater job satisfaction. Moreover, intrinsic motivation fosters creativity and adaptability, enabling teachers to craft engaging learning experiences. This, in turn, positively impacts student outcomes, as intrinsically motivated teachers create dynamic, supportive environments that enhance student engagement and facilitate social-emotional growth. Novelty/Originality of the Study: Underexplored connection between intrinsic motivation and professional development in early childhood education. The study underscores the need for fostering intrinsic motivation in teacher training programs by linking teacher motivation to innovation, resilience, and student engagement. Furthermore, it provides actionable insights into designing interventions and policies prioritizing intrinsic drivers, contributing to sustainable teacher development and improved educational quality.

Abstract

The bond between parents and children is an emotional bond, considering that a child is conceived for 9 months in his mother's womb until he is born into the world. The family certainly has an important role as the main shaping of a child's character, because the parenting of both fathers and mothers at home for children greatly affects the development that occurs in children. This research uses the Literature Review Technique or the technique of reviewing written works as a method of collecting literature data or research libraries or scientific papers. The primary data sources in this study are the results of research or scientific papers along with books related to the safe attachment relationship between parents and their children at an early age. The purpose of this research is to increase insight for parents as an effort to shape children's character, especially at an early age, especially in understanding the benefits of the secure attachment relationship that exists between parents and children. Studies from several previous studies related to safe attachment will be described descriptively in this study, such as explaining the factors that affect the safe attachment between parents and children and their positive impact on early childhood development so as to provide an overview of the safe attachment between parents and children.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of lecturers’ digital leadership on students’ AI literacy in the context of the growing use of digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education. Despite high levels of technological exposure, students do not always demonstrate critical and productive usage skills. Therefore, this research aims to analyze how digital leadership influences students’ AI literacy. A quantitative approach with a survey design was employed, involving 102 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires, where digital leadership was measured using the Digital Leadership Scale and AI literacy was assessed using the Meta AI Literacy Scale (MAILS). Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results indicate that lecturers’ digital leadership has a positive and significant effect on students’ AI literacy (β = 0.550, p < 0.001), contributing 30.3% to the variance. These findings suggest that lecturers, as leaders in digital-based learning, play a crucial role in enhancing students’ ability to understand and effectively utilize AI. Additionally, descriptive results reveal that although students perceive lecturers’ digital leadership as high, their level of AI literacy remains moderate, indicating a gap between technological exposure and actual competence. Practically, the findings underscore the importance of strengthening lecturers’ digital leadership through the development of digital competencies and the integration of technology in learning, including within religious higher education contexts that also emphasize ethical considerations in AI use.
