Abstract

Background: Persistence is a key factor in determining the academic success of nursing students. The impact of persistence on students is improved academic performance, development of study skills, professional readiness, mental well-being, and engagement in academic and extracurricular activities. Nursing students' perceptions and practices of persistence are important to understand in the context of higher education. Objectives: This study aims to describe the level of persistence in Padjadjaran University Nursing students. Methods: The research method used is quantitative using the Self-Regulated Online Learning Questionnaire (SOL-Q) which consists of 5 items. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling. The number of samples was 100 padjadjaran university nursing students. Results: The results showed that more than half of nursing students at Padjadjaran University had low persistence, which could affect their academic performance. This can be seen from 59 respondents or as many as 59% of students showed low persistence. This findings highlights the importance of developing learning strategies that can improve the persistence of nursing students. Conclusion: In the context of nursing education, there is a need for greater efforts to improve student persistence, especially in developing their persistence, in order to improve the quality of education and their readiness for future nursing practice.

Abstract

Background: Metacognitive skills play an important role in the academic success of Nursing students. However, understanding of the description of cognitive skills in nursing students is still limited, especially at Padjadjaran University. Efforts to evaluate and understand students' cognitive skill levels can provide valuable insights for the development of more effective Nursing education curricula. Objective: This study aims to describe the cognitive skills of Padjadjaran University Nursing students. Method: This research uses quantitative descriptive. The questionnaire used is the 18 item Self-Regulated Online Learning Questionnaire (SOL-Q) to measure students' cognitive skills. The sample technique uses accidental sampling. The sample in this study was 103 nursing students at Padjadjaran University. Data analysis uses univariate analysis. Results: The results of this study showed that 103 Nursing students at Padjadjaran University were research subjects. There were 61.3% of the total research subjects who had low metacognitive skills. These findings indicate the need for special attention to the development of cognitive skills, especially metacognitive skills, in the Nursing education curriculum. Potential factors influencing students' cognitive skills also need to be further explored. Conclusion: Understanding the description of cognitive skills in nursing students can be the basis for developing more effective and targeted learning strategies.

Abstract

Background: Bullying behavior among students has become a severe problem that affects their mental and physical well-being. The factors that cause bullying behavior are very complex and involve various aspects. One factor that is receiving increasing attention is alexithymia.Purpose: This study explores the relationship between alexithymia and student bullying behavior.Methods: The research used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional study approach. The research sample consisted of 120 class X students at Senior High School X in Bandung, selected using a total sampling technique. Data was collected by distributing online questionnaires, including the Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20 (TAS-20) to measure alexithymia and the Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire for bullying behavior. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Spearman correlation test.Results: The data obtained show that less than half of the respondents (36.7%) experienced high levels of alexithymia, 38.3% likely experienced possible alexithymia, and 25% did not experience alexithymia, while the majority of respondents exhibited high bullying behavior (43.5%). This study shows a positive relationship between alexithymia and student bullying behavior (p <0.0001; r: 0.309).Conclusion: Alexithymia can increase bullying behavior in school children. The higher the level of alexithymia, the greater the tendency to engage in bullying behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the hardiness of 2018 Unpad Faculty of Nursing final-year students dealing with online learning during a pandemic. The research method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. The results showed that 108 students (70.6%) of FKep Unpad A'2018 had moderate hardiness. In conclusion, the resilience and hardiness of FKep Unpad A'2018 students are in the medium category. Keywords: Hardiness, Student, COVID-19 Pandemic, Online Learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of forgiveness therapy on the mental condition of the elderly. The research method used is Scoping Review through the Electronic Science Direct database, EBSCO, and PUBMED. The results showed that from the six articles found and analyzed. It was demonstrated that providing forgiveness therapy affected the mental health of the elderly such as anxiety, and depression, improving the quality of life of the elderly, improving the psychological well-being of the elderly, physical symptoms, sleep complaints, resolving past interpersonal conflicts, and present and future. And is one of the adaptive strategies that help the elderly to focus on positive things. In conclusion, forgiveness therapy effectively improves the mental health of the elderly. The target of the elderly to succeed in old age is seen both physically and mentally. This therapy is one way to achieve success and that goal because the elderly are helped to be able to make peace with the past, present, and future. Abstract

This study aims to determine the therapies that can be used to reduce body image dissatisfaction in overweight adolescents. The research method used is scoping review through electronic databases Science Direct, Google Scholar, EBSCO, and Pubmed. The search results from several databases found eight articles that match the research criteria. Some of these articles show that Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Media Exposure Video Artificial Beauty, Long-Term Multidisciplinary Lifestyle Therapy, Gratitude Journals, and Self Affirmation affect reducing the level of body image dissatisfaction in adolescents who experience overweight. In conclusion, several effective therapies can be used to reduce mental health problems experienced by adolescents who are overweight. The target of this therapy is to reduce body image dissatisfaction in fat people so that it does not cause other mental health disorders that can threaten the person's life. Some of these therapies can help overcome dissatisfaction with the body due to being overweight. Keywords: Body Image Dissatisfaction, Overweight, Therapy

Abstract

This study aims to describe the relationship between the personality and work performance of nurses in the workplace. The method used is a scoping review with a descriptive approach using three databases, namely CINAHL, Google Scholar, and PubMed. The results showed that four articles discussed the relationship between personality and work performance in nurses. Nurses who know their character can improve optimal work performance. In addition, a job-appropriate nature helps nurses deal with work stress. So that nurses use adaptive coping and have high resilience in dealing with stressors that arise in the workplace. In conclusion, this shows the importance of nurses knowing their personalities to improve work performance in the workplace. Good workplace management can also form an upbeat disposition in achieving goals at work. Keywords: Personality, Nurse, Work performance, Workplace

Abstract

This study aims to explore the factors that influence hope in schizophrenia survivors at the Bumi Kaheman Rehabilitation Center. The method used is a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study. The results of the study show that the factors that influence hope in schizophrenia survivors at the Bumi Kaheman Rehabilitation Center are social support, anxiety, recovery, and quality of life. This is shown by the p value of the relationship between hope and social support, anxiety, recovery, and quality of life which is less than 0.05. Hope is important in improving the care process carried out by schizophrenia survivors. Efforts to increase hope can be done by providing interventions that focus on the factors that affect hope. In conclusion, the factors that affect hope in schizophrenic patients consist of social support, anxiety, recovery, and quality of life. Keywords: Factors, Hope, Schizophrenia

Abstract

Teknik relaksasi napas dalam merupakan suatu bentuk asuhan keperawatan yang dalam hal ini perawat mengajarkan kepada pasien bagaimana cara melakukan napas dalam Ada tiga hal yang utama yang diperlukan dalam relaksasi yaitu posisi yang tepat, pikiran beristirahat, lingkungan yang tenang. Posisi pasien diatur senyaman mungkin dengan semua bagian tubuh disokong (misal bantal menyokong leher), persendian fleksi, dan otot-otot tidak tertarik (misal tangan dan kaki tidak disilangkan). tujuan dari teknik relaksasi napas dalam adalah untuk mengurangi stres baik stres fisik maupun emosional yaitu menurunkan intensitas nyeri dan menurunkan kecemasan. Database yang digunakan untuk mencari artikel dalam literature review ini yaitu  Pubmed, Chinahl, dan Scopus dengan kata kunci bahasa inggris “Patient post surgery”, “Relaxation Therapy”, dan “Pain Relief”, Sehingga mendapat jumlah artikel dari database Pubmed 23 artikel, Cinahl 9 artikel, dan Scopus 110 dengan kriteria inklusi yaitu penelitian berjenis Randomized Control Trial (RCT), artikel dengan sampel >30 orang. Setelah dilakukan seleksi peneliti mendapatkan 6 artikel yang sesuai. Hasil studi literatur menunjukkan bahwa teknik relaksasi nafas dalam dapat menurunkan skala nyeri pada pasien post-operative. Ada beberapa teknik relaksasi atau terapi relaksasi untuk mengurangi nyeri pada pasien post operasi yang dapat diterapkan, diantaranya adalah teknik relaksasi napas dalam, relaksasi benson, relaksasi otot progresif serta relaksasi progresif. Penggunaan teknik ini dapat diterapkan perawat untuk manajemen nyeri di ruang perawatan pasca operasi dengan keuntungan dapat menghemat waktu, hemat biaya, mudah dipelajari, dan bebas risiko.

Abstract

Introduction: Academic resilience defined as the ability to survive and increase success in terms of education despite facing severe problems. Academic resilience in students can be formed if students are able to break down these problems into smaller problems and then deal with them properly. To be able to overcome these small or minor problems, students need good academic buoyancy. This study aims to analyze the relationship between academic buoyancy and academic resilience in first-year students at the faculty of health Universitas Padjadjaran.Method: The research design is a quantitative correlation with a cross-sectional time approach. The instruments used were the Indonesian version of the Academic Buoyancy Scale and the Academic Resilience Scale-30. The research population was 1082 first-year students of the 2022 class of the Faculty of Health. The sampling technique used was proportional stratified random sampling (n=162).Results: The results of the correlation analysis show that there is a strong and positive relationship between academic buoyancy and academic resilience (p = 0.000 and r = 0.679).Conclusions: There is a strong and positive relationship between academic buoyancy and academic resilience. Students should strive to maintain and improve their academic buoyancy and academic resilience, for example by building social connections, maintaining health, developing positive thoughts, and seeking help when needed.
