Abstract

The development of social media in Generation Z students presents the phenomenon of doomscrolling, which is the tendency to excessively search for negative content or news that impacts mental health. This study aims to map the factors that affect doomscrolling behavior in Generation Z students who use social media through scoping reviews. Article searches were conducted on PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar using the PCC (Population, Concept, Context) framework, covering the period 2015–2025, with inclusion criteria for empirical articles in Indonesian or English that are available in full text. A total of 12 articles met the criteria and were analyzed descriptively. The results of the review showed that doomscrolling was influenced by psychological factors (stress, anxiety, depression, psychological distress, insomnia), cognitive-behavioral factors (Fear of Missing Out, social media addiction, intensity of use, digital multitasking), personal factors (self-control, self-efficacy, emotion regulation, neurotic personality), and socio-technological factors (low social support and social media algorithms that reinforce exposure to negative content). Doomscrolling has consistently been associated with decreased mental well-being and increased emotional fatigue. These findings confirm the importance of digital literacy interventions, emotion regulation training, and strengthening self-control for Generation Z students.

Abstract

Background: Anxiety among college students is a growing mental health concern, particularly in Indonesia, where students face academic pressure, challenges related to academic major selection, performance demands, transition to adulthood, and career uncertainty. These stressors are compounded by limited access to formal psychological services, mental health stigma, and financial barriers, resulting in a substantial treatment gap. Purpose: To identify and map evidence-based interventions used to reduce anxiety and psychological distress among college students in Indonesia across various academic majors and fields of study. Methods: This scoping review followed the Population–Concept–Context (PCC) framework. Relevant studies were identified through PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL, and Google Scholar using keywords related to intervention, anxiety, college students, and Indonesia. Studies were included if they involved college student populations, examined interventions targeting anxiety or psychological distress, and were published in Indonesian or English. Results: The database search yielded 269 reports. After title, abstract, and full-text screening, 15 studies met the inclusion criteria and were included in the final analysis. Five key themes emerged: (1) a predominant focus on academic-related anxiety; (2) dominance of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions; (3) benefits of brief relaxation, art-based, and expressive approaches; (4) feasibility of digital, counselor-guided, and culturally adapted programs, including Self-Help Plus; and (5) the use of efficient, mostly quasi-experimental designs with short intervention durations. Overall, the interventions demonstrated reductions in anxiety and psychological distress among college students. Conclusion: Reducing anxiety among college students in Indonesia requires a multimodal and holistic approach that integrates evidence-based psychological therapies with culturally responsive and accessible strategies. The growing use of brief, digital, and culturally adapted interventions offers a promising pathway to address mental health service gaps in Indonesian higher education.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hope in hemodialysis patients is influenced by several factors, such as social support, quality of relationship with medical personnel, self-confidence, mental health, past experience in managing the disease, spiritual beliefs, as well as the availability of information, economic support, and adequate education. The type of research uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique uses non-probability sampling using the total sampling method, the sample is 67 people. This study uses questionnaires, HHI, MSPSS, and SWBS. Data analysis uses multivariate analysis of ordinal regression tests. Multivariate analysis showed that social support was the most dominant factor in influencing hope, namely (p = 0.005; OR = 5.60), this shows that patients with higher social support are about 5.6 times more likely to be at a higher level of hope. Followed by spiritual well-being (p = 0.046; OR = 5.44), patients with higher spiritual well-being are about 5.4 times more likely to have a higher level of hope.Social support and spiritual well-being have a significant relationship to hope in hemodialysis patients. Social support was found to be the most dominant factor in increasing hope, with a greater contribution than other variables. Keyword: Hemodialysis, Hope, Predictor. Abstract

Introduction: Nursing education requires continuous pedagogical innovation to produce competent professionals. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of the Korean drama 'Daily Dose of Sunshine' as a practical pedagogical medium for improving Psychiatric Nursing concepts in the Nursing Profession Program.Method: A quasi-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. Using a total sampling technique, 55 active nursing students enrolled in the psychiatric nursing clinical stage at Universitas X were recruited. The intervention utilized the drama as a case-based learning tool. Data were collected online before and after the intervention using a 24-item Guttman-scale questionnaire, developed by adapting standard psychiatric nursing competency vignettes to the drama's clinical scenarios. Data analysis included univariate statistics and paired T-tests.Results: The mean pre-intervention score was 58.64 (SD = 11.82), which significantly increased to 72.35 (SD = 8.30) post-intervention. indicated a significant difference in knowledge (p < 0.05), While these results demonstrate a positive trend in knowledge acquisition, the absence of a control group precludes definitive causal claims regarding the standalone efficacy of this teaching methodConclusions: The Korean drama "Daily Dose of Sunshine" shows potential as a supplementary pedagogical tool in psychiatric nursing education. These findings provide empirical evidence supporting the integration of innovative edutainment strategies into formal nursing curricula to optimize students' professional competencies.
